Along the fortress line, there are three large blockhouses. The central blockhouse faces the Abelion Hills, and the southern blockhouse is close to the southern sea. In theory, to reach the southern blockhouse, one must traverse the entire fortress line.
Minori and his group, however, arrived at the Holy Kingdom along the only route from the Kingdom to the Holy Kingdom, so they arrived at the northern blockhouse.
Whoosh!
A sharp, whistling sound pierced the air as an arrow shot from the city wall, landing in front of Kuro and forcing the carriage to stop.
"Who's there!"
A wary shout came from the top of the city wall.
With a rustle, Minori lifted the curtain of the carriage and stepped out. He looked up at the tall battlements, the figures bustling about on top, and took his adventurer's badge from his belt, holding it above his head.
"I am the captain of the Gold-ranked adventurer team 'Free Will'."
There was a brief commotion on the city wall.
Before long, in an inconspicuous location below the city wall, a narrow wooden door, seemingly hidden and only allowing one person to pass, was pulled open.
A squad of soldiers emerged from within, numbering a full fifteen, and quickly surrounded Minori and his group.
All the soldiers wore wary expressions.
Kuro's tall and ferocious appearance made it clear that it was a powerful magical beast, indicating that this adventurer team was not simple.
Minori looked at the soldiers surrounding them, feeling a bit surprised. He felt they were being overly cautious; Kuro alone shouldn't warrant this.
"Are there demi-humans on the carriage!"
The squad captain was a middle-aged man with a brown, bushy beard, staring at Minori with a serious expression.
So that's it.
There must be magic on the city wall that can identify demi-humans, or perhaps some kind of magical tool. The thought flashed through Minori's mind, and he nodded to the bearded man: "One of my companions is indeed a demi-human."
"What's the meaning of the troll you have tied up at the back of the carriage?" The bearded man kept one hand on the weapon at his waist, speaking again.
"I am an alchemist, and I can use demi-human blood to create some potions. The troll at the back of the carriage is for making potions."
Minori smiled helplessly and explained again.
Hearing these words, the bearded man was visibly surprised. Just as he was about to continue questioning, a soldier next to him suddenly stepped forward and whispered something in his ear.
"Oh?"
The bearded man's surprise deepened. "You created the 'Regeneration Potion'?"
"If no one else can make it, then I am indeed the one who created this potion," Minori said with a gentle smile.
"You are truly impressive, sir."
The bearded man's expression softened, and his hand, which had been on his weapon, dropped to his side. He explained: "Because of the demi-human, it was just a normal inquiry."
"I don't know if you are aware, but very few people travel this route along the border. Even merchants mostly use sea transport."
"In any case, welcome to you, sir."
After a brief questioning, dedicated soldiers led Minori around the northern blockhouse, guiding them further north.
The blockhouse gates of the city wall were not easily opened.
Minori understood after the guiding soldier's explanation that they had taken the wrong road. To enter the Holy Kingdom, they actually needed to go further north.
Located at the northernmost part of the border, that was the true route for merchants or adventurers entering the Holy Kingdom.
After finally entering the territory of the Holy Kingdom, they traveled for another half a day, finally arriving at the city closest to the city wall fortress, and also the largest fortress city in the Holy Kingdom - "Kalinsha"!
This fortress city, unlike other large cities within the Holy Kingdom, was directly under the jurisdiction of the Holy King family.
"The Inn of Colorless Tranquility."
This was the largest inn in "Kalinsha."
Minori and his group checked into this inn. Their arrival did not cause much of a stir, but they did receive several warnings from soldiers.
Inside the spacious room, the floor was covered with soft carpets, and the glass floor-to-ceiling windows made the room appear even brighter.
Minori sat on the sofa and breathed a sigh of relief. His observations along the way had made him increasingly aware that the Holy Kingdom was completely different from the Kingdom and the Empire.
"The status of adventurers in this country is really low," Minori thought, recalling the attitude of the soldiers along the way. He picked up the hot water on the table and took a sip.
Due to the Holy Kingdom's conscription system, it could be said that everyone was a soldier, which led to the "Adventurer's Guild" having an even lower status than in the Baharuth Empire.
"Master, should we teach those ignorant fellows a lesson?" The Verdant Witch's tone was cold. Thinking of the soldiers who had warned them overtly and covertly after entering "Kalinsha," Enri, who was sitting on the side, raised her head. Although she felt that such behavior was not good, she still raised her small fist: "We didn't do anything, how can they treat us like that."
It was because their team had a demi-human.
The soldiers who warned them reminded Minori's adventurer team not to leave Kalinsha and enter the depths of the Holy Kingdom.
"Don't do anything stupid."
Minori glanced at the Verdant Witch, not particularly concerned, and said to the two of them: "The situation in the Holy Kingdom is different from that of the Kingdom."
"The people here are extremely prejudiced against demi-humans. It's best to stay in the inn during this time."
Actually, saying that was a bit absolute. For example, the "Sea Dragon Statue" built by the Holy Kingdom at the Lighthouse Cape.
In terms of diplomacy, they also had relatively good relations with fish-men, a type of demi-human, and occasionally traded with sea giants.
It was just that, on the whole, the people of the Holy Kingdom were still extremely prejudiced against demi-humans.
"Yes," The Verdant Witch withdrew the coldness in her eyes and respectfully nodded.
"You two have been traveling for so long, take a good rest first." Minori raised his hand and stroked the Hellhound lying at his feet, smiling at Enri and the other.
"Master, you should also rest well."
"Yes."
Enri and the Verdant Witch left the room in sequence.
"Woof." Kuro tilted its head, gently nudging Minori's trouser leg.
Minori reached out and grabbed a piece of meat from his item box, throwing it into Kuro's mouth.
Watching Kuro swallow it immediately, Minori reached out and tapped the other's head: "You just finished eating, and you're hungry again. Your appetite is getting bigger and bigger."
Kuro immediately showed a pitiful expression: "Awoo."
Minori would not be deceived by the other's pitiful expression. He raised his head and looked out the window again: "Can't leave Kalinsha, huh? It seems like they are investigating my identity."
Whether or not he could leave Kalinsha and enter the heart of the Holy Kingdom didn't affect him much at all.
Throughout the entire Holy Kingdom, the only three things that Minori was truly concerned about were:
The Four Holy Swords!
Perfectly corresponding to the "Four Demonic Swords." If the abilities of the Four Demonic Swords were similar to the abilities of the [Cursed Knight], then were the "Four Holy Swords" similar to another high-level class?
The Holy Kingdom's National Treasure!
That is, the crown carried by the Holy Queen, a magical tool that contained the great ritual magic "Ultimate Holy War."
Minori did not know the specific abilities of this magic. In the original work, this great ritual magic had not been used yet, and the Holy Queen had already been captured alive.
However, Minori knew that there was a tenth-tier magic called "Ultimate War · Good."
If the great ritual magic stored in that crown was really related to the tenth-tier magic, he would need to get his hands on this national treasure and study it, no matter what.
And the last thing was the "Sea Dragon Statue." Of course, the statue was not the main point, but the meaning represented by the statue.
"Sea Dragons" did exist, and even Ning Ya had seen them with her own eyes. They were creatures with two legs and two feet, wings that had long since degenerated, a long and thick tail, and a huge body, with intelligence surpassing that of humans.
Minori wasn't sure if this so-called "Sea Dragon" was really a dragon, or some kind of dragon subspecies, or a special magical beast.
In short, it needed to be observed.
Overall, however, Minori was not worried that unexpected situations would arise.
Whether Demiurge ruled the Abelion Hills or the Holy Kingdom in the future, no unexpected things happened, proving that there were no major threats in these two places.
