Chapter 31 - Chapter 30 – “Beneath the Surface”

The morning after the masquerade, the city felt different—darker, heavier, as if the night had seeped into its veins.

Aria – Shadows in the Daylight

I sat by the window of the estate, watching the Milan skyline blur in the rain. Every drop felt like a whisper, reminding me that danger was never far behind.

Raiden entered silently, carrying two cups of black coffee. His eyes were stormy, restless.

"Il Principe's message wasn't just a threat," he said, handing me a cup. "It was a challenge."

I took a sip, feeling the bitter warmth spread through me.

"What's the next move?"

Raiden's gaze hardened.

"We hit him where it hurts."

Aria – Unraveling Secrets

That night, I found a hidden drawer in the estate's library. Inside, old letters from my father, stained with time and tears.

One caught my eye:

"Trust no one. The Prince wears many faces, but none are his own."

A chill ran down my spine.

Raiden – Guarded Truths

When I showed him the letter, his face flickered with something—regret? Fear?

"Your father was deeper in this than you know," Raiden said quietly.

"Then we're both in deeper than we thought."

The Calm Before the Storm

Outside, the city slept unaware. But inside those walls, plans were being made, alliances tested, and the first moves of a deadly game set in motion.
