Chapter 7 - Chapter 1: The Office

The hum of the Foundation's command chamber echoed softly as holographic maps flickered across the room. Clare De Leon, noble and composed, stood with her arms crossed, eyes sharp as she studied the layered projection of Universe 12. Her presence was calm but commanding—like a noblewoman ready to deliver judgment.

The microphone crackled to life.

Mic: "Clair de Leon, I1C agent. Requesting a meeting."

Clare's gaze flicked toward the voice, her expression unchanging. Without hesitation, she moved swiftly through the corridor, her every step measured and precise. She entered the briefing room, where a small team of officers awaited her.

I1C Officer: "Clare, there's a problem with Universe 12. Our N1 and N1S teams haven't returned. For some reason, they can't access it anymore. The dimension's defenses are… unusual."

Clare's eyes narrowed slightly, and she tilted her head with a calm, noble air.

Clare: "That should be impossible. I understand the N1 agents can't breach it, but N1S too? Report—what's the anomaly?"

I1C: "No readings from Earth 12's base. Only one anomaly—SCP-049. That's all we've got."

A flicker of curiosity crossed her face.

Clare: "Is it that dangerous?"

Before anyone could answer, Dr. Han stepped forward, his expression grave.

Dr. Han: "Every SCP is dangerous, Clare. But SCP-049… it's different. It's not just a creature. It's a humanoid entity with reality-bending properties. It can alter perceptions, infect hosts with its disease, and manipulate matter at will. It's dangerous enough to wipe out entire regions if left unchecked."

Clare's lips pressed into a thin line. Her tone was measured but edged with authority.

Clare: "So, what's the plan? We can't get in through normal means. Foundation tech isn't working. We need a different approach."

Dr. Han: "We've tried contacting Alice, but she's still searching for the problem. From what we understand, SCP-049 is in a state of high activity. If you're going, it'll be your powers that make the difference."

Clare nodded, her face calm but her voice sharp.

Clare: "So, I'll handle this. Send me the coordinates. I'll go in alone."

I1C: "Be careful. The dimension's defenses are unlike anything you've faced. It's almost impossible to breach without the right method."

Clare's gaze was unyielding.

Clare: "I've faced worse. Trust me. I'll be back in one piece."

The scene shifts to Clare's suit activating, her aura flickering with restrained power. She steps into the layered reality, her presence rippling with authority as she crosses into the unknown.

Her mind was already calculating—the dimension was a fortress, and she would breach it. No matter what it took.
