Chapter 1 - Lingering Night

GK Oriental International Hotel 5203.

Even the thickest curtains couldn't block the sunlight, bathing the room in a bright glow. On the enormous double bed, a woman slept soundly. The snow-white silk comforter had slipped down, revealing her exquisite upper body. On her jade-like skin were faint kiss marks, along with a few traces of more intense bites, appearing particularly striking against her pale complexion. Anyone could tell what the woman had experienced last night.

Most notably, on her shoulder was an exceptionally beautiful butterfly tattoo, lifelike and dazzling.

When Wen Nuan awoke, she was alone in the luxurious presidential suite. Her long hair cascaded down, concealing the telltale marks on her back. The alluring beauty of her, poised between girlhood and womanhood, was breathtaking. Her originally pure face was now tinged with a touch of captivating allure.

The marks on her body and the throbbing between her legs clearly told her that in her most beautiful years, she had offered herself to the man she loved most, the man who had always cherished and doted on her since they met.

Last night was her 20th birthday, and also the happiest birthday she had ever spent in her life.

Where did Brother Liucheng go?

Wen Nuan scanned the room, but he was nowhere to be seen. Vague yet vivid memories of last night surfaced, and Wen Nuan's face flushed with shyness. She loved Fang Liucheng very much, and Fang Liucheng also care and cherished her, but she always felt something was missing. Their relationship felt like that of lovers, yet it wasn't quite it, lacking the passion between lovers. She always felt it wasn't enough.

Those embarrassing scenes from last night kept flashing in her mind: the man's forceful thrusts, the scattered sweat, the heavy panting, the possessive dominance, all so different from the usually gentle and refined Fang Liucheng.

Wen Nuan recalled a friend's jest, that a man with his clothes off was a beast. Was her Brother Liucheng also like that?

She smiled faintly, thinking that Brother Liucheng was still as considerate as ever. If they had woken up together, it might have been awkward. Wen Nuan picked up her scattered clothes and hurriedly slipped into the bathroom for a comfortable bath.

He was so rough, making her ache terribly. It felt like he had taken her many times last night, without considering it was her first time. Her face was flushed, whether from the steam or from embarrassment, it felt like it was burning.

After the bath, the discomfort between her legs eased slightly. Wen Nuan dressed neatly, vaguely wondering if Fang Liucheng had accepted her, if she and he were now lovers.

It should be.

He had hinted for her to come, and they were together last night. They should be lovers. Wen Nuan felt so happy. In that moment, she felt like the happiest girl in the world.

However, life is always so unpredictable. Just when you are at your happiest, it often delivers a fatal blow.

Wen Nuan's phone rang sharply. Her phone was set to turn on automatically. She had turned it off last night when she went to find him, and it turned on automatically in the morning. She flipped it open and saw it was Liucheng's call. Her face grew hot. "Brother Liucheng, you..."

"Wen Nuan, you've disappointed me too much." Fang Liucheng's stern voice carried a chilling coldness, instantly extinguishing all of Wen Nuan's joy, shyness, and budding love.

Her mind went blank, completely unaware of what he was talking about. Brother Liucheng was disappointed? Disappointed in what? Could it be that she didn't know how to please him? She knew he had been with women before, but this was her first time... Wait, stupid Wen Nuan, what are you thinking? If you offered your precious first time so devoutly, only to receive the words "you've disappointed me too much" in return, what else is there to be sad about?

Have you become this cheap?

Her heart ached so much she couldn't breathe, yet she still heard her own calm voice. "Brother Liucheng, what are you talking about?"

"You were the one who proposed we be together last night, and you also agreed to come to the hotel. I waited for you all night, do you know that, Wen Nuan? Are you playing games with me?" Fang Liucheng's voice was filled with violent anger.

Wen Nuan was struck by lightning!

He waited for her all night? Then who was the person last night?

Wen Nuan felt ice-cold all over. When she woke up, she had already transformed from a girl into a woman. She had thought that in her most beautiful moment, on her most special day, she had completely given herself to the man she loved most.

At that moment, she had thought she was the happiest woman in the world.

But Fang Liucheng's words shattered her happiness. She clearly heard the sound of something collapsing in her heart. What was it? She didn't know. She bit her lower lip hard. "Brother Liucheng, you..."

"Don't make such a pitiful sound, Wen Nuan. I didn't expect you to be this kind of woman. I actually fell for your trick." He interrupted her. Wen Nuan had never heard Fang Liucheng's voice so cold. A faint sense of relief seemed to be mixed in. "Considering you've liked me for so many years, I originally planned to give you a sweet night before the storm, to fulfill your infatuated wish. Since you played me, then we're even."

She completely didn't understand what he was talking about. Why had Fang Liucheng's voice become so cold and unfamiliar? Why couldn't she understand a single word he was saying? Wen Nuan had a vague, ominous premonition.

"What did you say?" Her voice trembled with fear.

The man on the other end of the phone at this moment seemed like a devil, a devil she didn't recognize at all, not her gentle Brother Liucheng.

Fang Liucheng laughed, half mocking, half teasing. "Wen Nuan, wherever you are, you'd better go home now. And thank you for liking me for so many years."

...

He hung up the phone. Wen Nuan's body was stiff and cold. A gust of wind came from the doorway, chilling her to the bone. The woman's face was as pale as paper. Something must have happened.

Wen Nuan hurriedly got up, but in her haste, she pulled the pain between her legs. She reflexively propped herself up on the bed and caught sight of the smear of bright red. Wen Nuan's face paled even further. The "fallen red" she had just thought was perfect now seemed ironic and embarrassing.

Memories of last night floated up. She couldn't see his face clearly, but the pleasure and memories he had given her couldn't be erased. Wen Nuan clutched her chest. Who was it? Why was it someone else, not Fang Liucheng?

But at this moment, she didn't have time to think carefully. She packed her things and hurried out. Looking up at the room number, Wen Nuan gasped.

5203.

The room Fang Liucheng had booked was 5208. In her daze, had she gone into the wrong room?

Wen Nuan wanted to cry but had no tears. She bit her lip tightly and fled in panic.

Oh heavens, the boldest thing she had ever done in her life was to meet Fang Liucheng at a hotel, but she had also done the stupidest thing in her life, mistaking the room number.

Damn alcohol.

Just as she entered the elevator, the elevator door on the 52nd floor opened, and a handsome man in an Armani handmade suit walked out, took out his room card, and entered 5203. Seeing the empty bed, a cold smile curled the corner of the man's lips.

Wen Nuan hurried home, only to find several police cars parked outside. Officers were escorting her father into one of them. A wave of despair washed over Wen Nuan, tears instantly welling up. Even in her confusion, she knew something terrible had happened. She cried out, rushing forward, but the police held her back.

Her father only had time to say one thing, his voice strained, "Nuan Nuan, be careful of Fang Liucheng."

Wen Nuan watched, sobbing, as the police car drove her father away. Outside the Wen family home, a crowd had gathered, pointing and whispering. It felt as though all the strength had drained from Wen Nuan's body. Her father had been taken away, leaving behind a cryptic warning: "Be careful of Fang Liucheng." What could it mean?

Why her father had been arrested, she had no idea. A sudden thought of her mother and younger sister spurred her into action. Wen Nuan bit her lip, wiped away her tears, and ran inside.
