Chapter 41 - Chapter 41 Magic Rabbit Hole

Chapter 41 Magic Rabbit Hole

Lady Car was finally freed.

It suddenly revved its engine and then braked quickly, making the whole car lurch as if bowing to Lockhart in thanks.

Then, it slammed on the gas.

The speed instantly soared to its maximum, almost like a fighter jet taking off.

"Boom!"

It didn't fly away, but with unparalleled speed, it crashed into the petrified spiders not far away.

The acceleration, the momentum, the resolute posture, it was as if it was going to kill its father's murderer.

Lockhart now had a complete understanding of the visual effect of a high-speed train hitting a watermelon.

It wasn't like the bowling ball knocking over pins he had expected.

The Acromantulas it hit exploded like watermelons, juice splattering and fragments flying everywhere.

Brutal.

Extremely brutal.

Lockhart didn't stop this behavior. He didn't know what kind of grievances the flying car and the Acromantulas had before this. He understood the principle of not advising others to be kind when you haven't experienced their suffering.

Of course, this was also related to his complete lack of emotion towards the Acromantulas.

He only knew one thing—the Acromantulas' favorite food was humans, and Hagrid's pet 'Aragog,' who would restrain these Acromantulas from attacking humans, was old and about to die.

Even in the original story, when Harry and Ron went to Aragog for help as Hagrid's friends, Aragog had already decided not to restrain his offspring anymore, intending to let them enjoy the two young wizards who had come to their doorstep.

Lockhart had once said something like this to Hermione—this isn't a magical world, it's a wizarding world.

Everything is based on wizards.

Goblins who dared to rebel would be killed until they were docile. The centaurs understood this principle, as did the house-elves. But the Acromantulas, creatures that could have the intelligence of ordinary humans and speak human language after adulthood, couldn't figure things out.

Was it more powerful than a dragon or something?

Didn't even Dumbledore, who was known for his most gentle attitude towards intelligent creatures, have his most famous research result being the discovery of twelve uses for dragon blood?

This was an era where wizards and Muggles were exploring ways to coexist, not an era where wizards and other intelligent creatures were exploring ways to coexist. That was a problem that had been solved long ago.

The car lady, covered in dirt after the slaughter, drove over, looking somewhat expectant, hoping Lockhart could clean it up.

Scourgify, right?

Very simple.

Unfortunately, Lockhart couldn't do it.

Fortunately, the Wailing Widow solved this problem for him. The summoned blood water burst through the earth like a fountain, soaring into the sky and pouring over the car, washing away all the filth.

In his own professional field, Lockhart was always very reliable.

He said that this blood water was a beneficial spring that could bring vitality, and this was definitely the most authoritative judgment.

Lady Car clearly enjoyed this car wash service.

Being a magical creation born from magic similar to the 'Animatus Spell,' it showed extreme satisfaction when receiving this vitalizing spring water.

It twisted its wheels in circles in place and even opened its doors to let the blood water wash the interior decorations.

Like an elegant lady dancing joyfully in the rain.

Lady Car couldn't speak, nor did she know how to manipulate the radio's sound to piece together language, like a Transformer, but it wasn't a big problem. Lockhart knew how to get along with these non-speaking creatures.

He tried touching the shiny exterior of the car after it was cleaned, gently sliding his fingers like stroking Crookshanks.

The condition of this car was not good.

Its original sapphire blue paint no longer looked new and shiny. Some mottled areas even revealed rusty iron.

When Arthur brought this car back then, it was already very old.

Later, when Harry and Ron drove it and crashed into the Whomping Willow, the car was even more battered by the Whomping Willow's snake-like branches, with dents everywhere, and the roof was caved in.

This observation seemed to embarrass Lady Car a bit.

Her tires turned slightly backward a little, and she shrunk her body, as if trembling slightly.

Lockhart smiled and patted the car body.

"It's not a big problem."

"Maybe you should get it repaired. You know, bodywork can restore your beautiful shape, and paint can restore your perfect appearance..."

He spoke softly, trying to open the car door and sit inside, casually saying, "One of my older sisters married a car mechanic. His skills are very good. Maybe you'd like to give it a try?"

Lady Car was tempted.

She shook the steering wheel, nuzzling Lockhart's palm like a kitten.

"Are you willing to leave this place with me?"

Lockhart asked directly.

When dealing with these magical creatures and magical creations, sometimes one couldn't be too tactful; they wouldn't understand.

The steering wheel stopped, and Lady Car didn't answer.

This didn't mean complete rejection, Lockhart knew.

So he added the conditions, "In about less than a year, I will leave this school. Will you be willing to leave with me then?"

The car trembled slightly, looking as if it was in a somewhat moved state.

Lockhart looked at the Acromantula corpses outside the car window, his eyebrows slightly raised. "You have your own things to deal with, right?"

Honk honk~

The car honked twice.

"If you need my help, you can come find me. I'll be coming to the Forbidden Forest every night recently."

Lockhart didn't stay in the car for long. After getting out, he helped close the door, patted the car body, and said, "That's perfect. After we've both finished our own things, let's leave together, okay?"

This time, he finally got a definite answer.

The windshield wipers sprayed two streams of water, which met in mid-air to form a heart.

Lockhart was amused and laughed heartily.

He called his other little companions over to introduce them to Lady Car: the Wailing Widow, Crookshanks, the Boggart, and the Billywig. Unknowingly, he had many companions by his side and had never felt lonely.

Hearing the laughter, some figures ran out of the magical rabbit hole. They were the big-whiskered rabbits. They surrounded them, looking curiously at everyone.

Unknowingly, a bolt of lightning flashed across the sky, accompanied by the rabbits hopping around in panic, and a torrential rain suddenly descended.

Lady Car quickly opened her car door, beckoning everyone to hurry in and take shelter from the rain.

It was very magical. Although everyone was sitting side by side in the back seat, they didn't feel crowded at all.

The space inside seemed to automatically expand with the number of people entering.

But this expansion was different from the effect of the 'Undetectable Extension Charm.' If Lockhart hadn't almost instinctively developed the habit of quickly flipping through the memories in his brain, he might have even directly ignored this abruptness.

It would make people instinctively think that it could originally accommodate so many people.

Just as everyone was curiously looking around in the car, the glove compartment door in front of the passenger seat suddenly shook, and with a click, the lid popped open, and a pile of soil emerged from inside.

The soil surged and quickly expanded into a rabbit hole.

A rabbit that looked sturdier than the others poked its head out from inside. It was the one that had bitten Lockhart's trouser leg at the beginning, trying to pull him into the rabbit hole to avoid the Acromantulas.

Thump thump~

It stomped its hind legs forcefully in the dirt pit.

This seemed to be a warning to its kind. It looked somewhat nervous.

Soon, it saw the other rabbits sitting in a row on the seat and visibly breathed a sigh of relief.

What kind of magical creatures were these?

Lockhart couldn't help but feel curious.

Their magical rabbit holes could actually create an entrance and exit inside a magical creation like a flying car.

"Whoosh~~~"

Lockhart whistled. This was something he had learned from the Forest Witch's memories. This sound could help her show her goodwill to the small animals in the forest.

It seemed to be effective.

The sturdy rabbit crawled out of the rabbit hole, jumped onto Lockhart's lap, and looked around curiously.

Rumble~~~

The downpour outside the window grew heavier and heavier, scaring the sturdy rabbit into quickly shrinking into Lockhart's arms.
