Chapter 2 - Second Day

The morning light casts a golden glow over the landscape creating a Magical sight, People start their day, chatting, looking after their farms and cooking. By the shore travellers wake up yawning and enjoying the waves and the rising sun. But Lilly stayed in her tent, curled up in a ball trying to calm her mind, 'this dream! Why can't it leave me alone for once!' Lilly thinks to herself. After few minutes, taking a deep breath she steps out of the tent absorbing in the sunlight and the gentle morning breeze.

As the afternoon wore on, the tour guide takes all the travellers to look around the island. From the village to the markets they reach a small Lake, "And this is called, tears of jade. The holy water for the tribals and hence it is prohibited for the outsiders to touch it." As the guide describe the lake and starts walking to the other side with other travelers, Lilly stays frozen on her place still staring at the lake, she could feel others moving away but she couldn't bring herself to move from that place, It felt like all the forces of universe had held her against her will and soon she started to hear the same desperate voices calling for help from her dream, and it started to make her feel dizzy, but before she could pass out, the guide calls out to follow them breaking her from the trance. She shook her head trying to get a hold of herself and followed them silently.

As the day progress, all the travellers were invited for dinner by the locals, the Aroma and smoke covered the area making everyone's mouth water. "Smells so delicious! I wonder what they are going to serve us!" One of the traveller, Sam asks. As they reach the centre of the village many kids invite them happily and leads them near the bonfire. All the locals were wearing similar red dress with golden border and some wearing a feather crown. All the travellers were asked to make some space for the young tribals who circled around the flame and chanted something in their language. For an instance the radiant red fire turned into bright emerald green and soon turned back to original, the travellers gasped in surprise and stared at it with wide eyes while the locals bowed to it and stepped back.

As the dinner was being served, Lilly stared at the fire lost in her thoughts, thinking about her life and incidents happening here, it was all too simmilar but yet so foreign. "Can I sit here?" Lost in her thoughts she didn't hear the childlike voice talking to her. "Miss?!" Lilly flinches softly by the voice and looks up to see a young boy from the tribal community, "uh.. sorry?". He was short and had cute childlike features. "Can I sit here?" He asks again.

"Yes... you can." Lilly replied staring back at the fire.

As time passes many people finishes their dinner and scatters around chatting and gazing the stars while Lilly stayed at her place lost in thoughts barely eating. "It's rude not to eat at a feast." The boy speaks again in a friendly tone. Lilly looks at him skeptical but stays silent. He tilts his head softly, "lost in something? This place have answers for everything you know?" As the boy pique Lily's interest she turns to him fully, "Answers?"

He smiles, "Yes answers, you want to see?"

She thinks for a while before speaking. "Why should I trust you?".

He chuckles "Don't! But you can always trust the land."

Confused Lilly stares at him silently. "So you want to see?" He asks again with a bright innocent smile. Lilly thinks for a while and accepts to see what the boy wanted to show.

They both finishes their food and starts walking opposite towards the shore. As the people and the crackling of fire disappear, The calming song of ocean and rustling leaves is heard, Lilly takes a deep breath and crosses her arms behind her back, "so...what was i supposed to see?"

The boy smiles, "the ocean!", Lilly looks at him silently for any explanation.

"Yes! The ocean, the mother of island, saviour of us." She still stared at him with confusion and speaks in low tone, "how is that supposed to give me any answers?"

"My grandma told me that the ocean holds the secret of our past, hence it also hold our god's magic and gives us answers to everything!!"

Listening to the boy's talks, Lilly exhales, "hmm... Just the tales your grandma told you, so what is your god like? Some mighty hero who created ya'll?"

The boy looks at her surprised, "You shouldn't say that! If anyone hear you, they would kill you!"

Lilly looks at him slightly alerted and laughs it off nervously, "Hahaa.... Very funny, what's your name?"

The boy bowed in respect and states elegantly, "Aethon! Aethon Ravaryn!"

"Aethon Ravaryn?" She says softly, 'Tommorow would be my last day here, and i haven't gotten anything interesting for my book' she thinks to herself and speaks in a hushed tone, "So Aethon! You seem to know quite a lot about these secrets about island, you want to share with me?"

Aethon looks at her confused, "You want to know about this place? I could tell you."

Excited Lilly smiles widely and nods head, "great! I am all ears!!"

Aethon sits down by the shore and pats the sand next to him for Lilly to sit, as she sits down he speaks in a low mysterious tone, "My grandma told me that once a person get to know every secret of this land, they become untouchable, But if they disturb the God himself, they will bring themselves the worst nightmare ever!"

Lilly looks at him curiously, "And what if the God accepts then?"

"If only the person is chosen one, It's said that the God will only choose the rightful heir of the ocean"

"And how is the person chosen?" Lilly asks.

"I can't tell you that... You are not from here."

Lilly nods her head, "okay ... But i would had loved to know more things.... Which you 'can!' tell me." She smiles.

Aethon smiles back, "Sure! I will tell you about the First Born then!"

Lilly chuckles softly, "you mean the first human to exist?"

Aethon shakes his head, "No, not the first human! The first child of God! The one who would come to save us!"

Lilly curiously looks at him pestering him to explain more.

Aethon looks far at the ocean and starts to speak, "The one God left behind to protect us, the one who knows the past, present and future, the one who can't be ever touched, the who can never be killed! The person everyone is looking for, First Born: the tale of God!"
