Chapter 59 - 059

59.

Alessandro's POV

From the very moment I sighted Russo from afar, I knew he was going to spout a lot of nonsense.

I had vowed to keep him from spilling anything to Amelia, especially not the one secret I have been hiding from her all these times.

"Let's leave here, Amelia." I grabbed her hand and pulled her away. Russo got in our way and leaned to whisper something into Amelia's ear which I didn't hear.

"Get the fuck away from her!" I yelled, my veins rising in anger.

"Calm down, DeMarco." Russo smirked, his eyes glinting with mischief. "For now, you can enjoy her while it last but I promise she'd be mine soon. I'll claim her just like I did with Regina. Trust me, I'm having a very nice time with her."

I didn't bother to exchange words with him. He was a fool, a complete one.

He wouldn't be the one to push me to create a scene here and get painted all over the news.

I have been used to that but I don't want any unnecessary paparazzi, I didn't have time for that.

Not now, when I'm competing to be the Top Mafia King in the whole of Italy.

Ameila snatched her hand from me when we got outside.

"What's wrong?" I asked, moving closer to her my voice etched with concern.

"What do you know about me, Alessandro? What did Russo mean?"

I sighed, rubbing my forehead. "Ameila, you have nothing to worry about. Russo was only trying to get back at me by saying those words. None of them are true." I tried to convince her but she shook her head, not ready to listen to any of my words.

"Something is out of the box." She insisted, her voice laced with desperation. "He...he sounded true. His words….there seemed to be something hidden. Those words from the orphanage home administrator, it now makes some sense now."

I moved closer, taking her hands in mine. I watched her, my eyes filled with concern and sincerity which wasn't genuine. I just wanted to stop her from knowing the truth.

"We've never crossed path until that day when my men brought you down to the property. What do you think I could have ever done to you?" I asked, putting a muzzle on my words as I studied her facial expression for some moment.

"What did the orphanage home administrator tell you?" My gaze lingered on her. I tried to read through her facial expression. Her expression was one mixed with doubts and curiosity.

She was nervous. It was obvious.

From the very day my men captured and brought her to me, I knew she was Amelia Miller with an hidden mafia name — "La Lupa Vincenzo".

The scenes from that night replayed in my head. It was nothing but a blood shedding night.

I was just twenty years old then but I was so damn devoted to my duty as the upcoming mafia King to rule in stead of my father.

I remembered my father's words.

To rule the world, you must shed blood, son. Glory itself is acquired with blood, sweat and tears.

The ancient diamond is ours and it's a task given to you. To get it, claim it and kill anyone that gets in your way.

Morano Vincenzo was a mighty Mafia Don himself. As history had it. He wasn't from a Mafia family.

How then did he get there? The moment he got the head of the chief of the Mafia secret affairs as ordered by his boss, all his boss's wealth became his and even his title.

His real name wasn't Morano Vincenzo but David Miller. But as soon as he got risen from ashes and took over from his boss, he changed his name.

Morano Vincenzo was just an apprentice to the mighty Sinclair Vincenzo who had no heir. But as fate would have it, he became a top Mafia Don in the space of four years.

He was unstoppable and people feared him. But his whole life came to an end when I killed him that night.

Stabbed his wife and burnt down his mansion too with his daughter in it.

That girl was Amelia. La Lupa Vincenzo.

How she survived the fire that night still amazed me till date.

Morano was a pain in the neck to other Mafia Groups especially The Phoenix Mafia Organisation which belonged to my family.

He wrecked a lot of havoc and from day one, he had been in my father's blacklist.

I promised my father to wipe out his whole family and get the diamond too.

The diamond I got but the promise was only partially fulfilled as Amelia didn't die.

I wondered what the Orphanage Home Administrator told her about me.

I must find that person whoever it was and stop them from giving Amelia more information.

But first, I had to shut Russo's mouth. He had the fastest means on revealing more information to Amelia.

I didn't want her to find out. Just not now. Not now when I had started to fall in love with her.

She wanted answers and I had to look for a way to prevent her from digging into her past.

First, I had to make her trust me. But how?

"Nothing. She told me nothing." Ameila replied and even though I knew it was all a lie, I pretended to believe her.

I wrapped her in a tight hug and kissed her forehead.

"Would you like to go somewhere calm and burn off all those lies Russo had told you?"

"No... problem." She agreed and I led her to the car.

I kept stealing glances at her throughout the drive. She seemed to have many things running through her mind.

Even though I wanted to know everything and what she was keeping from me, I wouldn't push her to spill the beans.

If I wanted her to believe me then I shouldn't be desperate and quick to play the innocent card.

The car came to a stop in front a lounge. This was the place I came to most times when I needed to cool my head or create some great sex memories.

I often came here with Regina and we would fuck till day break.

I have wasted a whole lot of times with that bitch though.

I thought I had found true love. That was why it wasn't advisable for a Mafia Don to fall in love.

Love kills and sometimes poisons the heart with a mentality of finding a safe haven. Whereas, you've only found a devil's incarnate.

Oh how I wished to lock up my heart but how could it be possible when Amelia was here and she kept making my heart skip numerous beats?

We checked in and Amelia went into the bathroom while I sat on the bed, checking for a few messages on my phone.

I looked towards the direction of the bathroom when I noticed she was taking too much time to get out.

I stood up and knocked on the door, waiting for her response.

There was only silence as reply and the next time I knocked. It was a groan.

What could have happened?
