Alessandro's POV
Shit! I cussed through gritted teeth.
After a stupid thunderous laughter from Russo, the call came to an end and I angrily slammed my phone on the owner's seat.
My car zoomed across the road as I moved with fast speed.
No, that couldn't be true. Amelia should be at the lounge and not with Russo.
I picked up my phone again and put a call through to Gianni.
"How the fuck did that bastard manage to scurry in!" I yelled, "where is Amelia?" I asked and his next words surprised me.
"She is still at the lounge, Capo. I can see her from my tab, she's still in bed."
A wave of relief rushed down my spine and I sighed heavily.
That dickhead!
How dare he lie to me!
That wasn't what was important right now and I should care less whether he was a bastard or not.
All that mattered was that Amelia was fine and nowhere close to that fool.
I had planned to find the Orphanage Home Administrator where Ameila grew up but plans must change now.
I had to make sure Ameila was okay. Therefore I had to dash straight back to the lounge and get my amoretto.
The once clumsy lounge entrance was now as calm and quiet as a graveyard.
I was sure they'd still stick around if I hadn't put them in their place earlier.
"Amelia!" I called as I barged into the room and there she was still tucked in bed.
"Amelia." I called out again and she slowly opened her eyes.
"A... Alessandro…"
"What's wrong, are you okay?" I asked and she slowly nodded.
"I'm... I'm fine. Sorry I slept too much." She muttered before sitting up. My eyes never left her sleepy face and when she looked at me, I leaned in and placed a soft kiss on her lips.
She was too stunned to return the kiss. She was surprised by this sudden act of care but only I could understand what I was feeling down there in my heart.
"A...are you alright? Why do you look disturbed?" She asked a few minutes after I broke from the kiss.
I grabbed her waist and pulled her closer to myself.
"I don't want to lose you, Amelia. Please stay with me." I said, my voice almost in whispers.

Amelia's POV
I thought I was dreaming but it turned out to be reality.
Why would Alessandro say these words to me?
Stay with him? Why was he acting so strange and crazily weird?
Even though I was confused by his words, I pulled him into a hug.
"You don't have to worry. I'm right here for you."
Hell. Help. Did I just mention that?
Why was I making things more hard when I obviously didn't understand a thing?
I should've told him to explain his reasons for saying those words but I was, spouting shit.
"I love…" he paused, gulping down and running his hands through his hair.
My heartbeat accelerated. Was he about to confess his feelings for me!
I waited patiently for him to complete his words but it seemed it would take him eternity to do so.
"I…" he trailed off again but spoke after some seconds. "I love your morning look." He said with a smile and my heart dropped to my stomach.
What the fuck!
He had only complimented my look my I thought he was going to FUCKING CONFESS his feelings for me!
Did he even harbour any love for me in his heart?
Could I just stop daydreaming and put an end to the fantasies in my head?
"T... thank you." I faked a smile when all I wanted to do was cry. I clenched my fists together, glaring at him secretly but all he saw was a 'genuine' smile.
"I'd like to take a bath now if you don't mind." I slowly stood up and he nodded.
"Sure I'd wait for you."
Tsk tsk.
Pathetic.
I want to cry. Lord!
During the drive home, I couldn't stop cursing within myself.
Everything annoyed me. Even the innocent trees.
Fuck why did they look so green!
I stole a glance at Alessandro and he smiled at me. Again, I returned the smile and fixed back my gaze outside the window.
Bastard.
We arrived at the mansion and no earlier had I stepped down than Vivianne came running to hug me.
I froze.
What just happened?
Was this really the same Vivianne I had known?
"Amelia!" She screeched.. "I've missed you. Finally you're back. Come with me!"
She dragged me along and I flashed an apologetic look at Alessandro before leaving with her.
"Anne, are you ok?" I asked with a curious smile. Maybe this was one of my stupid dreams.
"Are you surprised that I'm friendly with you?" She questioned after pulling me to the dining room.
"Y... yeah." I nodded. "You're not this nice, Vivianne."
"Well, let's just say I'm changed and just like you've said, being rude isn't the way out of one's problems."
Wow. She still remembered that?
"You are my friend, Mel. My best friend. You're the only one who has been so curious about me and always find a way to make me happy while my uncle here just do nothing but scold me like a child." She pouted and I followed the direction of her gaze.
Alessandro was at the doorstep and next, he joined us at the dining area.
"Did I just hear you call me uncle? I'm no more that scumbag?" He raised his brow as he sat beside me.
"What are you doing here? I thought the 'south side' of the mansion was only meant for me?"
Alessandro's face flushed red with embarrassment and I tried so hard not to laugh.
"Shut up,you rat. This is my house." He pointed at her.
Vivianne sighed and rolled her eyes at him. "Can you ever be friendly for once?"
The maids began setting the table and instead of giving a reply, Alessandro focused on eating.
"Well, when do you plan to replace your ex-girlfriend, uncle? Cause I can't wait to plan a wedding." Vivianne suddenly asked and Alessandro looked up, dropping the fork in his hand.
"What do you know about event planning, Anne?" He scoffed and the girl chuckled.
"You can only find out when there's a wedding to plan which I really want to be quick." She replied with a shrug. "You know as grandpa always says, you aren't getting any younger, man."
True.
Alessandro threw a glare at me as I laughed.
"What's funny?"
"Sorry." I quickly say and stopped the man from strangling me.
"Well, uncle Alessandro." Vivianne began, gulping down some water. "What do you think about this beautiful soul here?" Her eyes land on me and I looked up slowly.
What! Was she trying to matchmake us or something?
"Don't you think you're fit for eachother?"
I choked on water immediately Vivianne asked that question.
Alessandro's face turned to ice and he coughed too before gulping down water.
Jesus.
What are you doing, Anne?
I don't like this man.
