Within a sector known to house blue suns, known for the supply of rare minerals and said to offer a unique travel experience to those who like to see sights it is a wonderful place of commerce and culture that caters to all kinds. "At least that's what the federation says".
A slit eyed man with moss like hair and brown tree bark, his skin was cracked and dark grey like a corpse, he placed the pamphlet down and watched his partner jump out of the open transports door with excitement written all over his face.
"leeeeetttsss goooooo!!!" A voice bellowed just before their bodies slammed into the ground, raising up a cloud of dust and debris and causing the people on the ground to cover their eyes, causing the slit eyed man to sigh.
'This madman is misbehaving again.' Stepping out of the grounded transport he looked into the swirling cloud of dust and said with mild irritation "Enjoying yourself?" he asked, a pair of glowing eyes peering through him from the dust cloud.
"Oh certainly" A voice came spoke out from the dust cloud it's glowing yellow eyes like fierce bulbs, soon they heard a clap sound, the surrounding dust being forcefully pushed outward from its source and allowing the voice owner to be visible.
The thing in front of him was tall exceedingly so, its shoulders were broad, and its bronze-like skin was covered in scars, it had large lower teeth resembling tusks, it's hair was seemingly made of mud and stone, curved animal like ears and large bulky arms.
"How many times have I told you not to slam into the ground like that?" The slender man straightened out his hair, but it always seemed to go back into its original unruly form, but he had already made a habit of it, sighing he lowered his shoulders in defeat.
The giant creature laughed, a deep and hearty bellow from the trenches of its soul. One could feel the very air around it vibrating as though it were celebrating with him while he continued to amuse himself. "My apologies, I was too excited."
"You're always excited". The humanoid creature, in spite of its brutish demeanor, spoke quite eloquently; this would often baffle many of the people who would interact with him, with how logical he was most of the time earning him a moniker of being a gentle giant.
The gentle giant was named Simon and his rather stoic partner Droll, they made for a rather strange pair seeing as how the smaller man was the more irritable of the two, while he giant was a lot more patient than his behemoth like appearance would let on.
"Life is meant to be exciting". The giant replied turning his gaze to the facilities large iron gates, then at the indigo colored sky and almost gentle looking blue sun Droll followed his partners gaze and asked calmly.
"Did you hear about the other facility being erased? "The giant nodded his head slowly before scratching his chin seemingly deep in thought.
"I heard a facility was erased but had assumed it was a hyperbole of some form." He looked back down at his much smaller partner who just shook his head before adding
"That was what happened, although the scope of the damage was certainly exaggerated somewhat". The giant continued to stroke his chin, carefully listening before raising an eyebrow and asking the smaller man.
"In what sense?". The smaller man had started to gesticulate, telling him that only the top portion of the facility was completely erased, most of the underground is just severely damaged like something tunneled through the floors and high-ranking personnel reduced to cinders.
"Well, what do you think?"
"Sounds troublesome, but it's likely just a high output ability, but it like all emission abilities, it is likely not very good against high resistances or sheer mass".
The smaller man was about to reply when he received and alert notifying him of a cruise ship entering the sector, specifically the mothership of cruise ships the Titan was passing by the star sector, cruise ships normally didn't need alerts, however the Titan mothership codenamed "The goliath" was simply too large, the pressure it generated during spacial jumps where the equivalent of gravity storms.
Such a dangerous item sailing the breaches of space had to send out an alert before entering any star sector and allow for prior preparations, which of course meant the ship wasn't even here yet, it was just a warning that all planets should prepare for reduced effectiveness of their tech, even possible power outages.
Simon shook his head finding it ridiculous that a luxury cruiser was treated with military clearance level warnings, but what he found more ridiculous was the fact the monstrosity existed at all to begin with, looking at his frowning colleague he could tell it annoyed him in a different sense.
Fortunately, the man wasn't impulsive enough to set them back by years of hard work and possibly doom every member of the facility simply to pick a fight with a ship that crushed abyss beasts with nothing but it's sheer hulk.
However, he did make sure to relieve him of the command communicator, just to be sure that nothing would truly happen, 'Just a mild precaution' where the words he told himself mentally in order to calm his nerves, there was such a thing as too much excitement after all.
On the Titan mother ship goliath, a red-eyed boy was staring out the ship's window as he eyed the purple sky of a particular planet, he was still impressed by how such a large structure had performed a spacial jump, and with barely any turbulence.
If he hadn't been observing the windows which where screened out just before the jump and only uncovered when it ended, he wouldn't have been sure they had moved at all, the amount of money that was sunk into this beast must have been insane.
He also thought about the people in his life and what would become of them after he had disappeared; perhaps they had forgotten about him in its entirety. He sighed, thinking about what his so-called best friend must be doing around this point.
"Enjoying the view?" A soothing feminine voice invaded his ears as the doll-like woman strolled into the room, a rather peculiar smile on her countenance as he carefully watched her dust off her clothes, a strange smile on her face, her posture giving off a different feeling from what he was used to
"Do people actually find that endearing?" she scoffed at his comment, the eerie smile being replaced by one of genuine amusement as she approached him.
"The perverts do." She brushed aside her hair and took a glance out the window at the desert planet with curiosity.
"My father says this planet is where aliens appeared for the first time." Zed adjusted the sleeves of his shirt before voicing his thoughts.
"That's not what the records say." The doll-like woman giggled at his reply, almost wanting to pat his head.
"Well, there's no better record than my father, at least when he's lucid". The boy raised an eyebrow, the sentence having peaked his interest as he turned away from the glass, humans had long lifespans these days, especially with some of the abilities one could access now, so he only had a vague suspicion.
"How so?" he asked, equally amused himself, he had always liked stories like these, and this was certainly something he was sure not many got to experience in their life time, or lifetimes.
She placed a finger to her lips as a genuine smile crept its way to her face. In the dimly lit halls, this only made her appear all the more frightening as she laughed, "He was there after all."
