Tanner's father paces the council room, his steps echoing like thunder, his face dark with fury, jaw clenched so tightly it looks as if it might shatter.
"What do you mean he's nowhere to be found?!" he roars, his voice cracking through the air like a whip. "Of course he has to be somewhere! You think he just vanished into thin air?! Is he a ghost to you?!"
The guards before him look exhausted, eyes bloodshot from days without rest, they flinch but say nothing.
They've scoured every forest edge, mountain path, and hidden corner of the territory, cities and towns, but Tanner is no where to be found, according to them.
Across the room, the former Luna sits silently, her hands trembling in her lap.
