Cherreads

Chapter 35 - Gravity Training

Tang Yin reached out and gently pinched Ning Rongrong's nose, a teasing smile on his face.

"You little princess are getting out of hand. Zhuqing was just learning a cultivation method from me—don't go bullying her again. Look at her! She's blushing like a cherry tomato."

Rongrong slapped his hand away and pouted.

"You taught her a cultivation method? Why didn't you teach me? Am I not pretty enough for your lessons?"

Tang Yin blinked. "Ah? How could that be? You're one of the prettiest girls I've ever seen! It's just... Zhuqing is my official disciple now, so I can teach her without holding back. But you? You're the seven treasure glazed tile pagoda Sect's little princess. How could I dare 'steal' you from them?" he said, putting on a righteous face.

Though her heart was secretly fluttering, Rongrong crossed her arms and put on an air of defiance. "Hmph! What Glazed tile Pagoda Sect? If you want, I can leave them behind and become your disciple instead!"

Tang Yin felt a chill run down his spine. This girl's going to get me killed one day.

"H-Hey now, Miss Rongrong, let's not joke like that, I still value my life, okay? I don't want to end up beaten black and blue before tomorrow!" he said, pretending to tremble in fear.

But Rongrong wasn't done. She lowered her voice and gave a pitiful look while covering her flat chest "Is it because my 'assets' aren't heavy enough? Not as... pleasant to the eye as Zhuqing's whenever she bows? Is that why you won't accept me as a disciple?"

Tang Yin was speechless. This girl's mouth is more poisonous than Dugu Bo's venom.

Just as he was about to retort, Oscar walked in, trying to act suave. "Good morning, Rongrong! You look even more beautiful than yesterday!"

Rongrong turned to him with a sharp glare. "So I was ugly yesterday?"

Oscar froze. His smile twitched. "N-no, I just meant—"

Before he could dig his own grave further, she cut him off and ignored him completely, putting him in the same category as Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun—leeches.

Realizing he'd been dismissed, Oscar sighed and turned to Tang Yin instead. Tang Yin patted his shoulder sympathetically.

"Give it up, Oscar. It's impossible between you and Rongrong."

Oscar raised an eyebrow. "Why do you say that?"

Tang Yin sighed, then explained the seven treasured Glazed tile Pagoda Sect's marriage rules.

"You need to be a powerful attack-type soul master to marry her. That way, you can protect her. you're... well, not that."

He leaned in with a smirk. "Also, your old friendship with Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun doesn't help. You're like a good tomato in a bag of rotten ones—no one wants to eat that tomato either."

Oscar blinked, then nodded with a dejected look. "Yeah… that's fair."

While they were chatting, Zhao Wuji entered the dining hall, with great enthusiasm

"Haha! Tang Yin, your gravity training request's been approved. Come to the training ground this afternoon—I'll help you train!" he said, already halfway through his meal.

Tang Yin was thrilled. He finally had a proper chance to train his body. Inspired, he quickly finished eating and headed into town. He visited the best blacksmith in the city and ordered a custom training set: ankle and wrist shackles weighing 60 kilograms each, and a chestplate weighing 120 kilograms.

The blacksmith, thrilled by such a wealthy customer, promised to have it ready by tomorrow. The total cost? Thirty gold coins—for about 360 kilograms of gear. Perfect for long-term body training.

That afternoon

Tang Yin stood in a low horse stance, his body slightly hunched under the pressure of the gravity field. His breathing was steady, and his resolve was firm. Just imagining training with the added weights starting tomorrow made him feel more determined.

Zhao Wuji with his brow furrowed as irritation flared."Where the hell is Dai Mubai? The new students are grinding away in training—and that brat's out whoring again!"

Oscar, on the other hand, was already passed out—sprawled dramatically under the gravity's force.

(You might be wondering, "Where's Tang San?" Well, he's busy forging hidden weapons, thanks to a little telepathic nudge from Tang Yin.)

Zhu Zhuqing was breathless, her chest rising and falling rapidly, but she didn't give up. She had discovered that under extreme physical strain, she could use the Mysterious Heaven Technique to unlock hidden potential.

Rongrong, meanwhile, had her hand firmly pressed on Tang Yin's back, using him for support.

That surprised him.

According to her witch-like behavior in the donghua, she should be complaining to Flender and threatening to leave the academy. But now… she's hanging in there?

In the Glazed tile Pagoda Sect, Rongrong had no real friends—just pampering from her elders. Now, she seemed to be changing. And not because Flender lectured her, but of her own will.

Curious, Tang Yin subtly used telepathy to read her surface-level thoughts.

To his delight, Rongrong genuinely considered him and Zhuqing her true friends. She didn't want her past behavior to ruin what they had. She was starting to mature—even if slowly.

That sealed it for Tang Yin. He decided to add her to his harem—but with conditions. She'd become an outer disciple, and he'd pass on the Mysterious Heaven Record using a spiritual seal that would prevent her from leaking it to outsiders.

After an hour of horse-stance, his legs finally gave out. But Tang Yin didn't stop—he dropped to the ground and began doing push-ups and sit-ups, each movement tear-inducing under the heavy gravity.

Later, he noticed Zhao Wuji looking a little pale from the continuous soul power consumption. Tang Yin stood and offered a suggestion.

"Teacher Zhao, I think we should prepare weighted gear for ourselves. That way, we'll spend less time on simulated gravity while achieving great results. You'd get to rest more, and the training remains effective."

Zhao Wuji's eyes lit up. Truth be told, he was running low. The idea was sustainable, smart, and surprisingly thoughtful.

Tang Yin felt great satisfaction. Gravity training was no joke—it worked the entire body and the effects were impressive.

He was about to brainstorm other training methods when a thought crossed his mind.

Wait a minute… why am I stressing over this? Once I enter the Sea God's Trial, I'll be bathing in divine light and waves to temper my body. No need to rush.

Relaxing visibly, he nodded to himself.

He would become Sea God—he was certain of it.

But Tang San? He'd make sure that boy never touched the Asura God's position.

First step: destroy the Clear Sky Hammer after the continental elite young Soul Master Tournament.

And just like that, Tang Yin's plan continued to unfold.
