Chapter 48 - Trapped Desires

As soon as Chanchala reaches for the golden card inside her purse, a jolt of panic strikes her—it's not there. She frantically searches every corner of her purse, growing more and more anxious with each passing second.

"Oh God! Did I drop it back there by mistake?" she murmurs to herself, placing a hand on her forehead in panic.

Without wasting another second, she bolts toward the elevator. But just as she's about to reach, she sees Jai stepping out of it. At the sight of him, Chanchala instinctively turns around to avoid being seen. As soon as Jai walks past her, she darts into the elevator and presses the ground floor button. The doors close, and the elevator begins its descent.

Meanwhile, Jai rushes toward his room. As he reaches into his pocket to retrieve the room card, his frustration grows—it's not there. With a mix of irritation and urgency, he calls the hotel manager to request a spare card.

Within minutes, the manager himself arrives with the card. Bowing slightly, he hands it over.

"You're most welcome, sir," the manager says politely.

Jai, a VIP guest at the hotel, commands respect from every staff member, including the hotel owner himself.

Jai slides the new card into the door's reader and enters his suite. Once inside, he quickly bolts the door, removes his coat, tossing it onto the bed, and heads straight for the bathroom. The moment the shower is on, he steps under the stream of cold water, hoping for relief.

But the burning sensation in his body only intensifies. His veins bulge, his eyes turn bloodshot, and a sharp pain tears through his lower body. Unable to bear it, he starts screaming.

On the other side of the building, Shivani escapes through the restroom's window. After climbing out, she quickly removes her fake beard and headwrap, tucks them into her pants pocket, and wraps the remaining cloth around her neck like a scarf. She hurries down the hallway, only to accidentally bump into Julie.

Julie stumbles but catches her balance. Shooting Shivani an angry glare, she snaps, "Are you blind? Can't you watch where you're going?"

"I'm so sorry! I was in a rush and didn't see you," Shivani replies nervously.

"Hmph! If I didn't have urgent work, I'd have taught you a lesson," Julie mutters, walking away.

Clutching her chest, Shivani sighs in relief. "Thank God she didn't recognize me." She makes her way to the elevator, and as the doors open, Chanchala rushes out in a panic, bumping into Shivani. Without even looking at her, Chanchala mutters a hurried apology and disappears.

Shivani steps into the elevator and presses the button for the 9th floor. As the elevator ascends, she presses a hand to her chest, whispering a silent prayer of thanks. The doors open, and she rushes out, making her way to Jai's room. Panting heavily, she leans against the wall to steady herself.

Reaching into her shirt, she pulls out the golden card, slides it into the slot, and unlocks the door. As she enters, she's shocked to find the room in complete disarray. The air conditioning is blasting, making the room icy cold. She quickly turns it off and starts searching for Jai.

But he's nowhere to be seen.

Then, she hears the sound of running water from the bathroom. She knocks gently on the door.

"Sir, are you in there?"

"Who's that?" Jai replies weakly from inside.

"It's me, sir," she says.

"Who 'me'?" he demands.

"It's Chaman!" Shivani blurts, intentionally hiding her real name. She feared if Jai realized it was her, he'd be furious for disobeying him and following him.

From behind the door, Jai responds with a mixture of surprise and irritation, "Chaman? How the hell did you get here?"

"I'll explain everything, sir. But please, come out first. You don't sound well," she pleads.

But Jai refuses to come out. "Go away! I don't need your help. Leave me alone!"

But Shivani doesn't budge. She stays near the bathroom door, ears pressed to it.

"I'm not going anywhere, sir. If you need anything… just call me."

"I said leave! Can't you hear me?" he shouts again.

Instead of leaving, Shivani quietly sits down on the floor outside the bathroom, her heart pounding with worry. The sound of running water continues for what feels like an eternity. Her anxiety deepens.

"Sir, are you alright?" she calls out one more time. "Please open the door!"

Silence.

Then, taking a deep breath, she finally says, "Sir… it's me. Shivani."

The door creaks open.

Jai stands before her, his eyes wide in shock.

"You?"

Shivani gasps as she sees him—soaked, his eyes blood-red, breath labored. She rushes toward him.

"Your clothes… you're drenched. Are you okay?" she asks.

She touches his cheek and flinches. His skin is burning hot, like a furnace. But to Jai, her touch feels like a drop of cool relief. He gazes at her with tear-filled eyes, his voice trembling.

"Shivani… I don't know what's happening to me. I feel like I'm on fire. I was so thirsty, I drank so much water… but it didn't help. I took a cold shower… but this heat inside me won't stop. I can't think straight. Tell me what's happening… what do I do?"

Shivani realizes the truth—the drugs. This is the after-effect. Jai has been fighting it all this time. But if he keeps resisting like this, he'll either lose his mind—or worse.

There's only one way to help him now.

Without saying another word, she steps forward and wraps her arms tightly around him.

The moment she does, Jai feels something shift inside him. The relief, the connection, the craving—it all finds its answer in her embrace. Shivani begins kissing him softly. Jai, who had been suppressing himself for so long, can't hold back anymore. He kisses her back, passionately.

He strips her clothes off and drops them to the floor. Then he undresses himself. Now, bare and vulnerable, he lifts her into his arms and lays her gently on the bed, kissing every inch of her skin. With every kiss, every bite, Shivani gasps, her voice trembling with pain and pleasure.

Jai enters her slowly, moving rhythmically, the passion escalating with every breath.

"Slow down… the baby…" Shivani whispers faintly.

Jai pauses. "Our baby?" he breathes.

A smile softens his expression. He becomes gentler, more tender. The wildness fades into love.

After three to four intense rounds, both collapse from exhaustion, their bodies entangled, their breaths slowing. Wrapped in each other's arms, they finally drift into a deep, peaceful sleep.
