Chapter 483 - Curse

With Illidan's departure, his Illidari and the naga under his command were defeated in the battle at the Wrathgate. However, the Illidari are a group of night elves filled with hatred for demons, who have honed their combat skills for ten thousand years for revenge. Even in defeat, they retreated in an orderly manner.

Before long, they regrouped with their master Illidan in the wilderness to the east.

"Master Illidan! Are you alright!"

Although the wound on Illidan's chest inflicted by Frostmourne had healed, the bloodstains remained.

"I am fine, Ohturis!"

Illidan's tone was strange, but the commander of the Illidari did not notice anything unusual.

"Let us leave this place and enter a new world to begin our journey! There, we can fully unleash our revenge on the Burning Legion!"

"Ooh!"

The Illidari were all night elves who had lost all their loved ones when the Burning Legion invaded Azeroth, leaving behind only ten thousand years of hatred. They sacrificed everything, and their only goal in life was to drink the blood of demons!

On the southern shore of Dragonblight, Lady Vashj, taking advantage of the coastal environment, defeated Kel'Thuzad and his undead army. At this moment, she was waiting for Illidan's return.

Just as Lady Vashj was gazing absentmindedly at the floating ice on the sea, a naga royal guard crawled over. He respectfully prostrated himself behind Lady Vashj, offering a beautiful dagger with both hands!

Lady Vashj turned her head and glanced at the royal guard with some disdain, but when her eyes fell on the dagger, her pupils contracted violently.

"This dagger!"

Lady Vashj snatched the dagger from the naga's hand and shouted sharply, "Where did you get this!"

Lady Vashj recognized the golden dagger: Vashj's Fang!

The black serpentine hair on Lady Vashj's head danced wildly in the outburst, and the high-ranking naga royal guard in front of her collapsed to the ground, trembling: "Reporting to the mistress, this was found at the foot of the mountain to the north, someone left it there on purpose!"

Whoosh!

A gust of wind blew past, and Lady Vashj rushed towards the mountains to the north, disregarding everything.

Soon, at the foot of the mountains, Lady Vashj saw a night elf wearing a white cloak!

Although the flying snow blurred her vision, the Serpent Lady still recognized the figure at a glance!

"Galen!"

Lady Vashj waved her hand, signaling the naga army that followed her to retreat, and approached alone.

"You're not dead after all. I knew you couldn't have perished together with that brute Archimonde. You deceived everyone!"

Galen turned his head and carefully looked at Lady Vashj, who had transformed into a snake-tailed being, and said softly, "As expected, Little Vashj knows me best!"

"Shut up!"

Lady Vashj's face was full of anger: "You liar, you deceived me by saying you would kill Tyrande, but you turned around and rescued that bitch! You not only deceived me but also betrayed the Queen!"

Lady Vashj was furious. For the past ten thousand years, she had been constantly thinking about Galen, wishing she could tear him to pieces!

"Little Vashj, haven't you figured it out after ten thousand years? What kind of ghosts are the so-called gods that the Queen summoned?"

Galen began his performance at this moment.

"I originally thought that summoning the gods would elevate the lives of the Highborne, but all they brought was destruction. The scene of corpses strewn across Sin'dorei still haunts my mind!"

"I am not a pure Highborne. I am just a branch of the Sunstrider family. I cannot ignore the lives of civilians, so I chose to stand with them!"

Galen eloquently stated the reasons for his betrayal, which was actually the mental journey of Dath'Remar back then.

Lady Vashj didn't understand whether the so-called gods were real or fake; she was just blindly loyal to Azshara!

"During the Great Sundering, I risked teleporting back to the palace, but the palace had already been submerged by the sea, and I couldn't find anything!"

"And this dagger, I have treasured it for ten thousand years!"

In this sentence, 'treasured' is probably true, but the time span of ten thousand years is greatly exaggerated. It's only half a year in ancient times, a few days traveling through time and space, plus a little over a year after returning to the normal timeline, making it less than two years at most.

Lady Vashj carefully played with the dagger that once belonged to her with two of her six hands. The familiar feel and appearance looked exactly the same as ten thousand years ago, without even a trace of time's erosion.

The Serpent Lady nodded, and the meticulous maintenance over ten thousand years made her believe Galen's words.

"I believe you..."

Lady Vashj's tone softened a lot, and the coldness in her voice was replaced by a hint of warmth.

If only she knew that Galen's heart was filled with guilt when he saw this scene!

As for Lady Vashj, he only had lust and no love for her back then. He just took advantage of her willingness, but now, looking at Lady Vashj's appearance, she has feelings for him.

What is this?

A karmic debt?

The consequences of being a playboy?

I used to hate scumbags, but now I'm lying to Lady Vashj one lie after another. In the end, I've become the person I once hated!

I am guilty!

As the atmosphere between the two eased, they told each other about their experiences over the past ten thousand years. Of course, the experience Galen fabricated was sleeping in the Emerald Dream, not as magnificent as Lady Vashj's life at the bottom of the sea.

The Great Sundering at the end of the War of the Ancients blasted Queen Azshara and many Highborne into the sea. To survive, Azshara chose to submit to the Old Gods.

In the end, their bodies were transformed by chaotic magical energy into their current appearance.

Over the course of ten thousand years, Queen Azshara and her naga servants built their new capital, Nazjatar, in the dark seabed, expanding their rule.

Lady Vashj also went from being the Queen's personal maid to a battle-hardened naga matriarch, fighting against the water elemental plane, sea giants, and various sea monsters in the seabed!

"Lady Vashj, is Queen Azshara turning her attention back to the land by cooperating with Illidan this time?"

Galen asked the question that had been puzzling him. He didn't understand why the naga were cooperating with him.

"The Queen wants the waters of the Well of Eternity. Her Majesty knows that Illidan took some of the water before the Great Sundering!"

After Lady Vashj finished speaking, she stared at Galen meaningfully.

Galen understood Vashj's meaning. In ancient times, he had asked Vashj for a dozen or so crystal bottles and filled them with the water from the Well of Eternity in front of her. Moreover, the Well water he possessed was even purer than what Illidan had. Now, Vashj was helping him conceal this secret. Although he didn't care if Queen Azshara came knocking, he would remember this favor.

"I also have Well of Eternity water, and it's even purer! Little Vashj, I'll give it to you to complete your mission!"

"No, Her Majesty the Queen has become increasingly paranoid in the last millennium. Although the Naga's new empire is powerful, the appearance of pure Well of Eternity water is not a good thing."

Vashj rejected Galen's suggestion.

"Besides, I was ordered to serve under Illidan for five years, and six months have already passed. I can't let my efforts go to waste!"

Galen was dumbfounded. What kind of logic was this? He was offering her the Well water, so she wouldn't have to go for the remaining four and a half years. Was she really willing to spend four and a half years just for six months' worth of wages?

Galen really wanted to see if Vashj's brain had been brainwashed by the Old Gods!

"Don't look at me like that!"

Vashj looked angry, as if she was saying, "Do I look like an idiot to you?!"

"I suspect that Her Majesty the Queen has been controlled by the evil gods. I need some time to find a way to save Her Majesty!"

The snakes on Vashj's head danced wildly. "According to my research and investigation of ancient books, the ancient evil gods are a group of losers imprisoned by the Titans. Now, the Titans of the Pantheon have not appeared for tens of thousands of years. The only news we have is of the so-called celestial being we summoned ten thousand years ago!"

That's right, the Titan still circulating in the world is the leader of the Burning Legion, the Demon King Sargeras!

"Perhaps I can get a way to restore Her Majesty's freedom from the Burning Legion, which is why I chose to follow Illidan!"

What she said was right. Even if Sargeras became a fallen Titan, his main goal was still the Void Lords. The main reason he destroyed Azeroth was because the 'heart' had already been parasitized by the Old Gods. In order to prevent Azeroth's star-soul from completely falling into the forces of the Void, it was indeed the fastest solution to kill the star-soul bred in the planet Azeroth in advance.

It's just that the victims don't agree.

And you follow Illidan…

Now Illidan is my man, aren't you indirectly working for me?

"I should go, Galen."

Vashj twisted her waist, came to Galen, and gave him a hug with her six arms.

Feeling the cold touch from Vashj's body, Galen made a decision.

"Little Vashj, I'll give you a gift!"

Galen glanced at the Naga in the distance and casually threw out an Ivory Tower. The Ivory Tower quickly took shape, and Galen took Vashj into the outpost that the Ivory Tower had transformed into.

Galen took out a golden disc!

"The Dragon Soul?"

Although Vashj did not personally participate in the fierce battle of the Well of Eternity, she and Queen Azshara watched the Black Dragon King seize this artifact from the heights of the palace.

"That's right, it contains the guardian power of the four-colored dragons in the Dragonflight. As long as you find a way to guide the power of this artifact, you may be able to temporarily solve the curse on your body!"

"Curse?"

Vashj didn't react for a moment. The curse Galen was talking about was the transformation of them, the Highborne, into Naga by the Old Gods.

However, perhaps only the Titans can completely remove the curse of the Old Gods. However, the guardians of the dragons inherited their power from the Titans. Galen may be able to temporarily lift the curse by using their power, but it is not a permanent solution!

Galen thought for a moment. Red Dragon Queen Alexstrasza is the Queen of Life, and she should have some knowledge of ways to change life forms. As everyone knows, the mage profession is good at removing curses, so Malygos, the Spellweaver, the Blue Dragon King, is also capable.

However, for the sake of speed, Galen first used "kryptonite" to summon the power of the two dragon guardians to himself. Finally, while carefully comprehending their power, he found a way to improve the Dragon Soul.

Galen began to inscribe magic circles on this artifact and then spewed out red flames of life and blue arcane energy!

Finally, Galen transformed the Dragon Soul into a round pendant!

"This is Galen's guardian blessing, Little Vashj. As long as you wear it and activate it, it can release the power of the guardians and temporarily remove the curse in your bloodline, but I can only let you restore the body of a Highborne for one hour!"

Galen put the golden medallion on Vashj. As the power of the medallion was released, Vashj began to change!

"One hour… is better than nothing!"

"Ah!"

The changes in bloodline and body shape made her flesh and blood all over her body feel like it was being cut with a knife, causing her to scream in pain!

The snakes on her head began to degenerate, and she regained a head of black hair. Her six arms re-fused into one, and finally her snake tail! The scales on the snake tail began to disappear, becoming fair again, and finally the snake tail began to fork, turning into two pink and tender long legs!

This reminded Galen of the fairy tale of the mermaid he had once heard…

"It's a success!"

Vashj used her magic to condense a mirror of ice, took off the armbands and breastplate on her upper body, and carefully admired her graceful figure.

The Highborne maid of ten thousand years ago has returned!

"Although it's only a short hour, I'm already content. This is a real restoration, not a visual deception using transmutation or illusion!"

"I hate these six arms and this damned tail. Now I can feel my feet on the ground again!"

"Thank you, Galen!"

The naked Vashj leaned over again, her whole body hanging on him.

The atmosphere had been built up to this point, and Galen could only do his job as a playboy again.

Vashj left contentedly, with Galen's promise that he would help her completely solve the curse in the future, and followed Illidan to another world to fight the Burning Legion. However, she did not know that Draenor, the orcs' old home, was already under Galen's control, and she would never be able to find a way to lift the control of the Old Gods.

Unless…

They can kill N'Zoth, who is hiding behind the Naga.

Or Galen takes Queen Azshara, just like with Neltharion, using the Origin Heart to forcefully shield the whispers of the Old Gods.
