Muradin's memories returned, revealing Arthas's heinous acts during his amnesia. This spurred Muradin to join the Alliance against the Lich King. Galen welcomed his decision, but he was less concerned about the Frostborn dwarves, whose small numbers and reliance on Muradin made them vulnerable.
Muradin, however, was worried about the impending chaos in the Storm Peaks. He declared his intention to relocate his people to the safety of Khaz Modan's mountains. Leaving the Bronzebeard brothers to their reunion, Galen and Onyxia departed for the Temple of Storms, the home of Thorim.
Thorim, a Titan Watcher known for his intense emotions, had withdrawn from the world after his wife's death and his brother's betrayal. For ten thousand years, he had remained aloof, even ignoring the pleas of the ice vrykul who worshipped him.
After leaving Frosthold, Galen and Onyxia traveled to Brunnhildar Village, inhabited by female ice vrykul, a fierce, all-female clan. Galen's past "cross-dressing" experience there sparked a detour. His arrival was timely, coinciding with the Hyldnir Spire competition, a brutal test of strength and will.
The competition involved defeating challengers, taming a bear, hunting in the Ancient Winter Valley, and ultimately, defeating ten Hyldnir Spire dragon knights to earn an audience with Thorim. Sif, Thorim's late wife, was a past champion of this trial, her heroism captivating the Storm King.
Galen, observing from the air, was determined to subdue Thorim, seeing the potential of winning over this powerful tribe. These vrykul were the source of the Scourge Legion's Val'kyr, and Galen intended to seize this opportunity before Arthas could.
The journey from Brunnhildar Village to the Temple of Storms was short. Along the way, Onyxia noticed a strange, gear-shaped structure on the plain. Galen identified it as the Engine of the Makers, a Titan creation capable of producing stormforged soldiers. He explained its history and its connection to the Halls of Will and the Forge of Origination, facilities designed to shape the world soul and create Titan creations.
The Engine of the Makers, however, had been shut down by Loken after his corruption by Yogg-Saron. Onyxia, impressed by Galen's knowledge, felt a surge of pride in her master, realizing his power surpassed even these Titan constructs.
Reaching the base of the cylindrical mountain upon which the Temple of Storms stood, Galen and Onyxia ascended, bypassing the Hyldnir competitors. They entered the dilapidated temple, finding Thorim asleep on a bronze throne.
The giant, adorned with lightning-themed attire and a blue mask, seemed lost in his grief. Galen's attempts to wake him failed, leading him to plan a forceful "invitation" to a specially prepared base in Un'Goro Crater.
As they set up a portal, a sudden sense of danger washed over Galen. A bolt of blue lightning struck, destroying their device.
Thorim, awakened and enraged, demanded they leave. Galen, drawing Ashbringer and Strom'kar, prepared for battle.
Thorim, intrigued by Galen's size and weapons, recognized the familiar aura of Archaedas' creations. Galen attempted to appeal to Thorim's sympathy, claiming friendship with Archaedas and Tyr.
Thorim, however, was unmoved, revealing his knowledge of Tyr's demise and Archaedas's disappearance. He attacked, his lightning fast and powerful.
Galen, though struck, was protected by his divine resistances and dragon scale armor. He waved Onyxia back, ready to face the Storm Lord alone.
Thorim, enraged by Galen's defiance, unleashed his full power. He hurled his warhammer, a weapon imbued with millennia of lightning energy.
Galen narrowly dodged the attack, the impact of which shook the entire temple. Thorim, realizing Galen's agility, prepared for close combat.
Outside, the Storm Peaks were engulfed in a raging storm, a testament to the awakening power of the Storm Lord.
