Kalimdor, Azeroth.
In Feralas, the city of Eldre'Thalas dominates the landscape.
This magnificent and ancient city is bordered by Lake Demont in the Feralas Mountains to the north, extends to the Woodpaw Hills mountain pass in the east, reaches the Forgotten Coast to the west, and overlooks Feathermoon Stronghold on the island across the sea. To the south, it extends to the ancient Temple of Elune in Isildien.
The Steam Pools in the southern mountains have even been developed into a renowned resort area.
The Night Elf-style farms outside the eastern city stretch endlessly from the low plains to Lake Everstill.
Originally, Eldre'Thalas had a population of 500,000. After the Battle of Mount Hyjal, many Night Elves, unwilling to migrate north to the new city of Darnassus, chose to settle in the ancient Eldre'Thalas. Now, the Night Elves living here number over a million.
A casual move by Galen ten thousand years ago has, after millennia of development, become a base no less significant than Galen's holdings in the Alliance. The scale and antiquity of Eldre'Thalas are unmatched by any other city in Azeroth!
Galen Remar secretly teleported to the Lord's Manor in Eldre'Thalas, where Jess Darkweaver, the lord's steward, had been waiting for him.
"How are things proceeding, Jess?"
Galen asked this follower, who had chosen loyalty in ancient times.
"Highlord, the resurrection ceremony is about to begin! Please, follow me!"
Jess transformed into a gray-black eagle, leading Galen over the mountains towards the northwest!
In the original timeline, Jess's family was slaughtered by the Burning Legion in ancient times. Seeking revenge, he followed Illidan and became a Demon Hunter, eventually rising to become a strategist in the Illidari army.
Now, Galen has altered his fate. Not only did his family survive and thrive in Eldre'Thalas, but Jess also changed his class from a Moon Guard to a Druid. And a high-ranking one, it seems!
The northwest of Feralas is a vast valley. Named Twinspire Valley for the two flat-topped mountains that dominate the landscape, it is also home to a unique feature: a Dreamtree, located in the center of Lake Jademir, east of Twinspire Mountain.
This Dreamtree serves as a gateway to the Emerald Dream, and is guarded by the Green Dragonflight. To facilitate the Druids' pilgrimage to this sacred site, Torsedrin established the settlement of Dreamer's Rest on the valley's north side.
It is in this settlement that the resurrection ceremony is to be held.
The Archdruids of the Cenarion Circle, along with thousands of elite Druids, have gathered here, surrounded by a large number of Night Elf people, all eagerly anticipating the return of Galen Lema, the hero of the Night Elves.
The resurrection of a demigod is a rare event, even in the long history of Night Elf society. Even the most ancient Night Elves, who lived through the War of the Ancients, have never witnessed the true resurrection of a Wild God.
Galen and Jess, in their eagle forms, landed on the branches of a giant tree. Many other Druids were also in their animal forms, so their arrival went unnoticed.
Galen surveyed the crowd, noting the presence of not only Night Elves, but also Quilboar, Tauren, and Troll Druids.
It seemed that since the Battle of Mount Hyjal, Malfurion had relaxed some of the stricter dogmas, allowing Druids of other races to join the Cenarion Circle.
Then, Galen spotted a familiar figure standing in the center of the settlement: Tyrande and her Priestesses of the Moon. They were here as well!
"Return! Return!"
"Galen Remar, the great hero of the Night Elves, the present world is calling you..."
A low, resonant chant drew Galen's attention. He saw Fandral Staghelm, holding the Oak Staff, leading the ritual. The green power of nature pulsed through the valley, and the assembled Druids could feel the faint vibrations of the Emerald Dream. But there was no response from the altar.
Fandral glanced back at Torsedrin, his eyes filled with suspicion and resentment.
Torsedrin had chosen this date for the ceremony, claiming his master's soul had responded to his call. Yet, he could not sense Galen's presence.
Could my master still be...sleeping?
This is going to be incredibly embarrassing.
Galen chuckled inwardly. I'm not even in the Emerald Dream. No wonder your little ritual isn't working.
After a moment of amusement, Galen's expression turned serious. Torsedrin is a loyal and devoted disciple. I can't let him be humiliated like this. It's time for me to make an entrance.
Suddenly, a beam of green light erupted from the altar, forcing the nearby Druids to shield their eyes.
Then, they felt the connection between their world and the Emerald Dream intensify. Finally, to the astonishment of the assembled Druids, they saw a figure emerge from the shimmering portal, walking step by step into reality.
They were witnessing the "return" of a king!
