Sabellian, a magnificent golden demigod, confronted Asaad, the formidable West Wind King. This elemental lord, excluding the Wind Elemental King and the four primary Wind Lords of East, West, North, and South, ranked as the sixth strongest in the entire wind elemental domain, his mastery over lightning truly superb.
However, Sabellian was no less formidable. Before his Lightforging, he had served as a trusted adjutant within the Black Dragonflight. Though his demigod status was achieved through the potent bloodline of the Black Dragon King, the very fact that his dragon spine could serve as a substitute for Deathwing's own proved his immense power, marking him as a truly exceptional demigod.
Thus, the clash between an elemental lord and a dragon demigod was nothing short of spectacular, a maelstrom of elemental fury and radiant Holy Light!
Sabellian beat his wings, radiating a blinding aura of holy light, his powerful, razor-sharp golden claws tearing relentlessly at the vortex-like form of the West Wind King!
Yet, wind elementals are unique among the four elements. Their bodies, composed entirely of swirling air, lack the solid, tangible forms of fire, earth, and water elementals. Consequently, unless Sabellian could strike directly at Asaad's elemental core, his physical attacks proved frustratingly ineffective, merely passing through the ephemeral form of the West Wind King!
Conversely, Sabellian's defenses and natural resistance were astonishing. Coupled with his profound mastery over the protective energies of the Holy Light, Asaad's concentrated lightning strikes, though powerful, merely left fleeting scorch marks upon Sabellian's gleaming golden scales, failing to inflict any substantial damage!
"Your strength is nothing more than this!" Sabellian roared, his voice echoing with triumphant disdain. "It's not even enough to tickle me, wind elemental!"
In their former lives as black dragons, Sabellian and his kin had been forced into hiding, constantly evading capture by the other chromatic dragonflights. After their Lightforging, Galen had kept them concealed for over a decade. Now, finally, they could re-emerge, openly, onto the grand stage of Azeroth! This newfound freedom, this opportunity to display their power, filled Sabellian with an exhilarating excitement!
To unequivocally prove the might of the Golden Holy Dragonflight, this demigod dragon resolved to distinguish himself in battle!
"Asaad! Prepare to meet your end!"
"It's not certain who will die yet, you overgrown yellow lizard!" Asaad shrieked, his voice laced with fury. "Taste my lightning!" Having lived for hundreds of thousands of years, having witnessed the ancient elemental wars, the dark legions of the Old Gods, and the formidable guardian legions of the Titans, Asaad was utterly enraged by the perceived condescension of this "newly emerged" dragon species. He cast aside his previous contempt, focusing his full, unbridled power on dealing with Sabellian!
On another platform of the Skywall, Galen and the Windrunner sisters had also ascended to the Skyreach. Nefarian immediately engaged the Storm Dragon Altairus, while Onyxia confronted the Wind Lord High Sage Er'tan.
However, compared to the true powerhouse that was Asaad, his two lieutenants seemed considerably weaker. High Sage Er'tan was swiftly dispatched by the Golden Dragon Princess within a few short rounds, his ephemeral form dissipating under her relentless assault. The Storm Dragon Altairus, meanwhile, struggled desperately to cope with Nefarian's barrage of magical attacks, barely managing to hold his ground.
Altairus, it had to be said, possessed a striking appearance. Dark gray, stone-like scales densely covered his slender body, and a pair of thin, massive dragon wings, remarkably similar to those of a blue dragon, allowed him to move with surprising agility. His streamlined head lacked horns, and dark blue lightning constantly crackled across his form.
This particular Storm Dragon exuded a far more powerful aura than the Storm Drakes found in Stormheim, a phenomenon likely attributed to his presence within the elemental domain. In this sub-plane, saturated with the raw power of wind elementals, Altairus could exert his greatest strength.
Unfortunately for him, he faced Nefarian, the cunning and magically potent Black Dragon Prince. Even with the blessing of the wind element, Altairus was being utterly overwhelmed, beaten like a common cur!
"Nefarian! Capture it alive!" Galen's booming shout echoed across the platform.
The command, reaching Altairus amidst his desperate struggle, was a profound insult. His eyes, already wide with fear and pain, immediately turned blood red with enraged humiliation!
