Chapter 19 - Shopping Spree

The sun was dipping low, painting the sky in shades of pink and orange, when the trio stepped out of the house.

Avantika stretched, humming a tune, dragging her suitcase behind her as if it was a dance partner.

"We're going shopping, remember?" she grinned at Shapra, who was still recovering from his "training" earlier.

Ridhir chuckled, adjusting his cap. "Grandma Sarvani needs her new shawl, and I'm sure Anvitha will find something to relax in."

Sarvani smiled warmly, leaning on her cane. "Just some small things, nothing fancy," she said. But the twinkle in her eye told a different story.

The market was alive with chatter, colorful stalls brimming with fresh vegetables, spices, and the aroma of street snacks tempting every corner.

Avantika darted towards a fabric stall, her fingers dancing over soft silks and cottons. "Look at this one! Perfect for Sarvani's shawl."

Sarvani nodded approvingly. "Oh, that's lovely, dear."

Meanwhile, Anvitha was browsing through the pottery section, running her hands over delicate cups and bowls. "These would be perfect for tea time," she murmured.

Shapra wandered near a spice vendor, eyeing the piles of bright turmeric, chili powder, and cumin. "Maybe I can finally make something edible," he joked.

Avantika laughed. "You mean 'not burn down the kitchen'?"

"Hey!" Shapra protested, "I'm a work in progress."

After an hour of lively shopping, bags brimming with treasures, the group found a small tea shop.

Over steaming cups of masala chai, they shared stories — Sarvani recalling old market days, Avantika teasing Shapra about his cooking skills, and Anvitha planning a cozy dinner.

As twilight deepened, they packed up to head home, hearts full and spirits light.

"Shopping day success," Ridhir declared, carrying the heaviest bag with a grin.

Avantika winked at Shapra. "See? Not all days have to be battles and mudras."

Shapra smiled, feeling the calm before the real storms ahead.
