The morning sun cast long shadows over the school's grand entrance as I stop a few feet away, My breath coming in quick, sharp gasps.

I was never late. Not once in My entire academic career I had committed such a crime.

But today-thanks to My 'not so dear sister' and traffic -My perfect record was on the verge of being shattered. And worse, he would be there to witness it.

Ruhaan Agnihotri - My nemesis, the only person who would relish every second of My humiliation if I dared to walk through the main entrance even a second past the bell.

He would smirk, make some snide remark about me "you're late"

and I refused to give him that satisfaction!

My mind raced, I was moving from back and forth

The hallways would already be filling. The teachers would be taking their places. There was no way I could casually stroll in without attracting attention.

Unless...

My sharp eyes flicked toward the side wall near the old gym

I remembered prakriti di, had been in this exact situation once. And prakriti di - legendary in her own world had not walked through the front gate, She had climbed the wall!

I clenched My fists, I'm a top student, I had a reputation to uphold. And if prakriti could do it, so am I!

Heart pounding but triumphant, she dusted herself off, straightened her blazer, and strode into the library as if she had been there all along.

Darting to the back of the school, I scanned the area with my doey eyes, fortunately wall wasn't too high as I thought

go Ishi, first time is last time

With a deep breath, I started climbing. My fingers dug into the rough surface, My heart pounding as I pulled myself up. Halfway there, I thought of all the possible disasters-falling, getting caught, got shocks from the wires and so on.

"sneak peak so unexpected from you, class president"

I froze at mid-climb, My fingers gripping the rough edge of the wall as a voice called out from behind.

A sharp, authoritative tone.

I nearly stopped breathing A teacher? The principal? or worse Ruhaan!?

Slowly, trembling, I turned my head, ready to see a strict face, a detention slip, or Ruhaan witnessing My downfall!

"I'm-m sorr-ry I-I won't d-do next-t tim-me!" I stammered, my voice barely above audible.

But, instant of shouting or taunted, I heard laughed almost amused

I looked up and,

There was he – krish raisinghani, my childhood friend stood there, arms crossed, an amused smirk tugging at his lips. Light brown hair tousled from the wind, his sharp hazel eyes gleaming with mischief.

"You?!" I gasped dramatically

Krish raisinghani- My best friend, partner-in-crime, the only person who had ever rivaled My wit!, In childhood, vedant and Akshit Bhai play with prakriti di, I felt slightly lonely and then he came, change my entire 'not so boring' life to memorizing one!

krish had that kind of presence that turned heads without him even trying. He was tall, with a lean but athletic build that hinted at years of casual sports rather than intense training. His tousled brown hair always looked effortlessly messy, like he had just run a hand through it without a care. Sharp, expressive hazel eyes carried a mix of mischief and intelligence, often reflecting his quick wit and easygoing nature.

He was casually standing there as if he hadn't just disappeared for a four month on his foreign trip.

And unfortunately he had caught me Climbing the school wall.

A slow grin spread across his face. "Did I miss something while I was gone, or have you taken up extreme sports in my absence?"

I groaned, pressing My forehead against the wall in defeat. "SHUT UP, aur Aaj kaise school Aagya tu,"

"bas teri yaad aagyi " He leaned casually against the wall, watching My struggle with barely concealed amusement. "Why You, of all people, sneaking into school? did you started taking climbing excercise in my absence!"

"I am not sneaking in," I hissed. "Aagar school aana hi tha to jaldi aa jata"

"Uh-huh! Bol bhi kon raha hai"

I shot him a death glare but

he laughed like a maniac. "You know what Ishi, if you needed an excuse to be became a rebel like your sister, you could've just waited for me,"

"Not. Helping."

"Fine, fine," he said, holding up his hands in surrender. "But hurry up before someone actually catches you,"

As krish come towards me, he smirked. "I think, you should take classes from me?"

"Never," I grumbled

But as much as I hated to admit it, I was internally really glad he come back

And krish?

he casually climbing up the wall like it's so normal, shaking his head in amusement.

As I hoisted herself over the wall, my foot suddenly slipped against the rough surface. A gasp escaped from my lips as I lost my balance, My body tilting dangerously backward.

ohh nooo

Before I could even process the impending fall, a firm grip caught my wrist, yanking me forward.

I landed not on the hard ground-but against something solid.

Warm

familiar

I slowly opened my eyes

krish

My heart hammered in my chest as I found myself pressed against him, his arms securely wrapped around my waist to keep me steady.

"Ishi, tu chalna kab shekegi, still girti parti rehti hai, Aagr mai nahi hota tu to abhi apne dadi ke darshan kar leti," he teased, his breath fanning against my ear.

I pushed him away, scowling "Aur agar tu aur bolega to mai tujhe zarur apni dadi ke darshan karva dungi!"

"I'm excited to met your dadi, you know I heard from aunty she's a kind of nagin," he said, grinning as he released me.

I dusted off my neat uniform, and refusing to look at him.

It was bad enough that he caught me sneaking in-now he had also saved me from making a complete fool of myself.

He will definitely take all my candies

But just as I straightened up, suddenly an eerie feeling crept up my spine.

Someone was watching me.

My eyes flickered toward the long window of the student council room on the second floor.

For the briefest second, I thought I saw -someone standing there, staring.

But before I could get a good look, the figure moved, vanishing behind the curtains.

"Are you lost in your grandma memories?" Krish asked, noticing my pause.

I hesitated, then shook her head. "Nah...just felt someone watching us,"

"Tu fatu hai!"he again burst out laughing like he just a commentry.

That idiot ughh

Whoever it was, I had no time to worry about it. Right now, I just needed to get to class before attendance.

but Still... that feeling of being watched lingered.

Dusting off my uniform, I straightened up and strode toward the hallway with krish, My confidence returning!

I reached my class before attendence.
