Sword Saint: "Honestly, I agree with Yuki-kun on this!"
Young Miss of the East: "+1"
Near-Omnipotent: "Absolute eternity has brought Inazuma nothing but stagnation. A society so rotten and unchanging, do you truly love it?"
Near-Omnipotent: "Like you said, if sheer willpower can resist 'erosion,' then why not strive to strengthen that will instead?"
Near-Omnipotent: "Are you really just going to hide from it all, push everything onto a puppet, and soothe your wounds in some dark corner?"
Near-Omnipotent: "Have you ever considered what your people would think? Your friends? How could you ever face the loved ones you've lost?!"
Yuki's words struck like daggers, each one plunging straight into Raiden Ei's heart.
The pain was unbearable.
Overwhelmed, she slammed her fist onto the wooden floor, her body erupting with violent surges of purple lightning.
"BOOM!"
The entire shrine was reduced to rubble in an instant.
Nearby citizens saw the towering bolt of violet light and immediately dropped to their knees, bowing toward Tenshukaku. They begged for the Electro Archon's mercy, fearing they'd somehow provoked her wrath.
Ei's subordinates rushed to the scene, demanding answers.
"It's nothing. Leave me," she dismissed them with a wave.
But as she turned to the ruins of Tenshukaku, she realized it was no longer habitable and ordered repairs at once. Then, in a flash, she vanished—reappearing at the residence of her familiar, Yae Miko.
The moment Ei stepped inside, a voice dripping with playful charm greeted her:
"My, my~ What's got our Almighty Shogun in such a state today? Did your own home offend you?"
There stood Yae Miko—her long, silken pink hair tied at the ends, dressed in a red-and-white shrine maiden's robe that left her pale legs bare, delicate feet tucked into wooden sandals. Her fox-like eyes gleamed with amusement as she studied Ei.
"It's nothing," Ei muttered, sinking into a seat.
Miko's smirk faltered. Nothing? The Archon's face was a billboard of turmoil.
Wordlessly, she poured Ei a cup of tea and settled beside her.
After a suffocating silence, Ei finally spoke:
"Miko… was I wrong to pursue 'eternity'?"
Miko's playful demeanor vanished. For once, the cunning Guuji was speechless.
Miko never expected to hear those words come from Ei's mouth.
Such a sudden change had her thoroughly intrigued.
"Oh? What finally knocked some sense into you today?" Miko teased, tilting her head. "Did someone say something to you? Or—" She pressed the back of her hand to Ei's forehead with mock concern. "—are you running a fever?"
"Stop that!" Ei swatted her away, scowling. "Since when do divine beings start getting fevers?"
Though Yae Miko was her familiar, their bond ran deeper—closer to mischievous best friends than ruler and servant. In all of Inazuma, Miko was one of the few Ei could confide in.
Well, aside from those peculiar "chat group" friends from other worlds… though she omitted that detail. The existence of the group was a secret too dangerous to share—especially with the looming threat of Celestia.
"It's like this…" Ei recounted Yuki's words, carefully editing out any mention of interdimensional forums.
By the end, Miko's interest was thoroughly piqued. Who was this "Rin Yuki," who'd managed to shake Ei's stubborn convictions with mere words?
"Where is this man? I must meet him!" Miko leaned forward, eyes gleaming. "To think a few sentences could finally drill wisdom into your thick skull—impressive!"
"My skull isn't thick!" Ei huffed, puffing her cheeks.
Miko just grinned, letting the jab hang in the air.
"But I'm serious—I want to meet this Yuki in person and thank him properly!"
Yae Miko's expression turned earnest, her usual playful smirk replaced by genuine intent. Whether it was gratitude or sheer curiosity, she had her reasons—and she wasn't joking around anymore.
"Oh?"
Raiden Ei's eyes gleamed with sudden amusement as she studied Miko's face.
"My, my~ Could it be that our little fox has finally taken an interest in a man?" she teased, her voice dripping with mischief.
"Shut it!" Miko rolled her eyes, "This has nothing to do with that! I'm just curious, that's all."
Honestly, what man could possibly catch her attention? The very idea was absurd.
"Keep telling yourself that, little one."
"Says the woman who's literally made of stubbornness!"
The two descended into playful bickering, shoving at each other like old friends rather than god and familiar.
Once their laughter settled, Ei exhaled softly, her tone turning serious.
"I won't be making another puppet."
"This nation… it needs me—not a substitute."
"As for 'erosion'..."
Her grip tightened around her teacup, resolve hardening. If she held fast to her true purpose, then erosion could never claim her.
Inazuma Shadow Warrior: "You were right. I was wrong—terribly wrong."
Young Miss of the East: "I'm so glad you realized it, Ei!"
Vase Leader: "Looks like Ei's problem is solved~"
Sword Saint: "Congratulations, Ei!"
Near-Omnipotent: "Better late than never."
Inazuma Shadow Warrior: "Thank you, Yuki. Without you, I'd have walked a path of ruin."
Then—a notification flashed across the chat.
[Congratulations! Member "Inazuma Shadow Warrior" has altered their destined fate!]
[Reward: 6,000 points.]
[Member "Near-Omnipotent" has guided another to change their fate!]
[Reward: 10,000 points.]
Sword Saint: "Wait—you can get points for changing fate?!"
Vase Leader: "So many points… I'm jealous!"
Young Miss of the East: "That proves Ei's really changed!"
Goddess of the Moon: "Whaaaat? I want points too!"
Rin Yuki smirked. Well, that was easier than expected. The system sure knew how to reward a good deed.
Inazuma Shadow Warrior: "So… my original path really was a mistake....."
Near-Omnipotent: "Like I said better late than never."
Inazuma Shadow Warrior: "These points feel unearned… Yuki, you should take them—"
Near-Omnipotent: "How about this? I'll take half. Use the rest to grow stronger. Only power can truly defy fate, even Celestia's designs."
Inazuma Shadow Warrior: "You're right. Also… when you have time, I'd like to invite you to my world.""I want to thank you properly. And, well… my familiar insists on meeting you too.""Btw She's single. And quite pretty. (smirk)"
Near-Omnipotent: "Oh? I'll make time, then."
Yuki's grin widened.
Ei's familiar… that's Yae Miko, isn't it?
Beautiful, cunning, and utterly unforgettable.
And Ei and her sister are also very beautiful.
A trip to Inazuma sounded just fine by him.
