5 whole days had passed—Ji Won had not once stepped out of the training hall. His only focus was on getting as strong as physically possible, as much as his body would allow him.
Sae Jaehyun was accompanying him, always by his side—they trained in shifts, one trained from dusk to dawn, one trained from dawn to dusk. One went to pick up food in the morning, one went in the evening.
Jaehyun was sleeping, the night sky a deep purple. Stars adorning the vast plane—people enjoying their rest but there was just one maniac awake that was fighting with himself.
Literally.
'This thing..'
Ji Won thought to himself as he blocked a punch from a perfect holographic clone of him was bouncing around—its hits just as hard as if Ji Won punched himself in the face.
'Its a hologram, but it still hits like a bus. I think the mana skeleton inside is just mimicking my stats. And even my fighting style.'
His eyes flickered up to the roof, a small floating drone that had light of many different colors coming out of its bottom—creating the very hologram that was in front of Ji Won.
'Since Jaehyun is asleep.. I shouldn't be too loud.. But I gotta take this thing out."
He kicked the hologram away—its feet skidding against the ground. The clone looking at Ji Won without any emotion in its fake eyes—while it was a perfect copy, Ji Won had something it didn't.
The ability to gamble.
Ji Won's hand ignited in flames which he shaped into a spear—the clone lunging forward to stop Ji Won but it was a bit too late. A flaming blue spear was launched at it, incinerating the metal skeleton underneath.
The drone stopped making the hologram—revealing that underneath it all it was just a bunch of metal sticks infused with mana and the power of technology made it able to copy Ji Won.
"Damn it.."
He muttered under his breath—laying down on the ground as he slowly caught his breath. A revelation from the morning still haunting his mind.
Pan Soo-yun had came for training today—their relationship had became a bit less like enemies, and more like 'Reluctant friends'
'Huh? You don't know? The rankings in the academy—their like waay weaker than in the real world. You're a weak B-Rank if I'm honest. That's still a big thing... Though.. Sir Baek Yoosung is already an AA-Rank hunter... And he just graduated a month ago.'
These words had stuck with Ji Won—his pride a bit damaged. But he was also a bit grateful towards Pan Soo-yun, she had just humbled him as well as stopping him from overestimating his strength.
He rolled around on the ground, the sun-light peeking through the windows on the far end of the training hall—signalling the start of the 6th day of not leaving.
Fatigue settled itself into his bones and muscles, seeing Sae Jaehyun wake up through his tired eyes reassured him that his 'shift' was over, and so. He instantly fell into a deep—dreamless sleep.
On basically the other side of the world—inside of a dungeon was a giant black dragon perched on a gigantic mountain—one that would make Everest itself look like a hill.
Its wings flapped as it started roaring—black flames poured out from its mouth. The mountain beneath it shaking. Its white serpentine eyes narrowing down below at one person below, out of pure instinctual fear.
It was a beautiful young woman with black hair that reached her shoulder blades—her blue eyes gleaming with mana and incomprehensible power. Her black armor covering her entire body. Golden spikes rising from her pauldrons.
A maroon red and shiny Geom was in her hands—the handle golden and contrasting against her armor beautifully.
'I suppose its been quite a while that I've fought against an SA-Rank boss like this.. I've gone a bit soft..'
Her weapon was only swung once—a giant wave of purple and white lightning coming out of it as the mountain crumbled to the ground, a giant pile of rubble. The dragon having flown away.
"Get back here lizard.. You're the last dungeon I need to clear before I can go back.."
She put her hand forward, lightning coming out as it wrapped around the dragon like unbreakable chains, the dragon howling in pain as the lightning paralyzed it, flowing through its entire body.
It flailed around in the air, trying to break the chains and when it failed—it turned its attention towards the woman on the ground below. Still standing with a distant expression.
It growled and opened its mouth up wide, black and golden flames gathering in a large ball before it released them, almost like a laser as it beamed through the air.
The woman sighed casually—before getting engulfed by flames that melted through the rubble and annihilated it, making it evaporate into the air, like it was a pot of water.
But the chains were still there—the dragon was spun around in the air so fast that the very flames it created started rising up into a tornado—leaving an opening in the middle where the woman stood. Completely unharmed.
"Hey Lizard. You're dead. The Air-con is broken back at my place!"
She angrily slammed the dragon onto the ground—so fast that it caught on fire like a meteor, a crater forming where it crashed onto the ground, large enough for the whole of Manhattan could fit inside without a problem.
The woman was instantly on top of the dragon as she gripped its throat tightly—despite the dungeon boss being the size of mountains—it was still being choked by an ant.
The beast was helpless—giving into its fate as its eyes turned completely gray. Signalling that it was indeed. Dead.
The woman jumped off the dragon, walking towards the dungeon gate which was far off in the distance, the swirling white gate was just waiting for her, flickering with red electricity.
She walked out, the gate closing—disappearing into nothing as she looked up to see a man in a tuxedo and face mask waiting for her, eyes crinkled at the edges.
"Yo! Chauffeur Nae Jin-ho is here to pick up sister number 1!"
Nae Jin-ho's face was partially revealed—eyes a deep aquamarine. His skin almost as white as a piece of chalk. Evidence of him not going in the sun enough.
This woman was none other than Hyuk Eyun-jung—elder sister of Ji Won and strongest hunter in Asia.
"Jin-ho, how's my brother doing?"
Nae Jin-ho chuckled—wrapping an arm around Eyun-jung's shoulder before he was immediately punched in the gut by the cold woman.
"Well.."
Nae Jin-ho began, his voice a bit choked as he rubbed his stomach in pain. Though he was a bit amused.
"You're brother's a total menace. He awakened a system—then basically took over the whole of SBAH in little more than a month.. He did die like, twice-"
He was immediately apprehended—collar held in Eyun-jung's hands as she glared at him. Gaze so intense and angry that it might just pierce through Jin-ho's heart.
"Died? Take me back to Seoul or I'll shove a car down your throat."
Nae Jin-ho was unaffected—he seemed to be even enjoying it just a tiny bit.
"Hey, I know your a bit dominant but be a bit gentle, this is my first time~"
Eyun-jung clenched her teeth, pushing Nae Jin-ho into the driver seat of the car he brought as she got in the backseat.
"Drive bitch."
Nae Jin-ho chuckled, taking his tie off before starting the car—looking back at Eyun-jung with a bit of amusement.
"Sure~ Seoul. Here we come."
