Chapter 39 - Chapter 39 Claims

There are too many examples of people who have very high SAT scores but are rejected by prestigious schools due to lack of social practice. Bella is also quite troubled by this.

She is not a newbie who has not entered the society. She has some guesses about Victoria Hand's intention of inviting her to have coffee and chat. She said that she chose Stanford because she graduated from Stanford.

Without investigation, she has no right to speak, but she thinks that the East and the West are similar in terms of communication with university alumni. As alumni, sometimes they are a natural circle.

Victoria Hand seemed to have not heard the name of Stanford and asked back: "Isn't the history department of Harvard better?"

Bella laughed: "I don't want to be too far away from home. My mother is going to move to California with her husband in the future. Although my father is in Washington State, it is not far from California, so..."

Victoria Hand saw through her little thoughts: "Regional discrimination"

Bella made a very indifferent expression, highlighting her firm stance as a westerner.

"I know a girl in her twenties in Forks. She goes to school in Philadelphia. She said that people in Washington State are very simple and honest, and they are very harmonious with each other, while people in Philadelphia are particularly indifferent and mean!"

Bella used the word "mean" here for "mean", which is already a very serious statement.

Victoria Hand would deliberately correct her words on the issue of indigenous people and pioneers, but when she bluntly expressed her dissatisfaction with Easterners, she took a sip of coffee casually.

"Those people on the East Coast only recognize their Ivy League schools, and they think the center of the world is New York. In reality? They are not as good as the West Coast in high technology and entertainment industry. They are a bunch of nerds and a bunch of misers who can only calculate their annuity income!"

Bella shook her cheeks and sprayed.

America is amazing. Discrimination and prejudice are taboos, and they must not be involved, but regional discrimination and prejudice are okay. Those talk show hosts always talk about how people in Georgia are, how people in Texas are, and they can make fun of them in any way they want.

There are strong disagreements between states, not to mention the conflicts between Easterners and Westerners. The contempt between each other is so deep that anyone can come and say a few words, and no one will think there is a problem.

Victoria Hand smiled. She was very satisfied with Bella's statement. She herself was squeezed out by the group of people in New York. What ability does Coulson have? Isn't it because he is a New Yorker!

She said in a seemingly fair manner: "The academic atmosphere of Ivy League is very strong. You must have been misled by the false reports of the media."

Bella waved her hands repeatedly: "I am afraid that they will discriminate against me. If someone like me goes to an eastern city, it will be too difficult to live."

Victoria Hand had read Bella's file several times and knew that she was not lying.

It is not new that girls whose personalities do not conform to mainstream values are hostile to those around them. There are many who commit suicide because they can't stand it.

This country seems to be promoting heroes, but it is actually anti-heroes. The country does not want to see a certain individual stand out. Those who are particularly beautiful or brave will be treated strangely here. The country hopes that everyone is mediocre, so that the upper class can use their abundant social resources to manage effectively.

Victoria Hand did not make any promises, and Bella seemed to understand nothing. The two chatted casually for a few words, then said goodbye to each other and left.

That evening, Bella took a plane back to Phoenix, Arizona.

She found her pickup truck in the gymnasium, and then went around the city twice before finding her home with some difficulty.

Strictly speaking, this is Bella's mother's house. Her mother is now making a little man with her boyfriend in California. She has no plan to come back in the short term, so it won't be a problem for her to stay for a few days.

Bella called her mother and said that she would stay here for a few days, and called Charlie to report that she was safe.

Only then did she completely relax.

In the next few days, she will stay in Phoenix to participate in the "social practice activities" in which the Survivors Association sued Trans World Airlines and demanded sky-high compensation.

According to the Montreal Convention signed in 1999, airlines and insurance companies that insure airlines must pay sky-high compensation for the victims and survivors.

This involves the magical operation of the United States again. The United States has signed a lot of messy conventions with countries around the world. After all the countries have implemented them, they have been slow to implement them.

The United States is a member of many conventions, but not a contracting party. The reason is that the conventions signed by the government still need to be approved by the country's legislature.

As long as the legislature delays the approval, a lot of conventions will be valid for others but not for oneself. Now, whether the compensation scheme in the convention is applicable to the Flight 180 accident needs to be questioned.

Compensation is definitely required, but there is controversy over how much compensation to pay. The airline and the insurance company do not want to pay more, while the victims and survivors hope to get rich overnight by fighting against the local tyrants. The contradiction between the two sides is completely irreconcilable.

Bella followed the lead twice and found that she could not participate in this matter at all.

Seeing a group of uncles and aunts shouting in front of the media how scared and helpless they and their families were, and how serious the crimes of the airline were, she felt that her face was too thin!

She knew very well that the airline was actually a victim in this matter. She really couldn't do it against her conscience and say how numerous the crimes of the airline were.

Faced with the sky-high compensation, many staff members of the airline were also laid off and lost their source of income. Their lives were also very hard.

Bella withdrew from the leading ranks of claims, and the uncles and aunts took over the leading power.

The survivors killed by the Grim Reaper in the past few days were also blamed on the airline company. Capitalists are all evil-minded anyway! It must be the shareholders of the airline company who hired someone to kill. Sue them to death!

When sorting out the death list, Bella made a discovery that was neither big nor small. The pretentious black coroner was also dead.

Judging from the time of death, he should have died in the second half of the fight between the Grim Reaper and the Indian curse. He died in his sleep.

For this "social practice" activity, Bella no longer cared about the process, but only the result. She urgently needed the criminal money of the capitalists to replenish her meager wallet. She was so poor that she had no interest in going shopping even when Natasha took her out.
