Business was booming.
With his new license and a chaotic team that vaguely resembled a startup from hell, Kaito's Modern Mart had become the hottest shop in Draymoor. Adventurers lined up for "blessing potions" (vitamin water), enchanted scrolls (instruction manuals), and even instant noodles—which they swore tasted like mana-infused dragon meat.
But success attracted more than customers.
A shadowy merchant guild called The Obsidian Chain issued a quiet ultimatum: Join them or disappear.
Kaito, naturally, refused.
A week later, his delivery boy was mugged by enchanted mannequins. The store's stock of "mana batteries" (AA cells) mysteriously exploded. And someone hacked his app—briefly replacing all product images with goat memes.
"This is cyber warfare," Kaito muttered, staring at a picture of a goat in a wizard hat.
"Technically, magic warfare," Lyra corrected.
Raelion offered to "settle things" with his sword, but Kaito had a better plan: go corporate.
He used the app's new "Vendor Upgrade" feature to form Modern Mart Inc. and buy out a failing potions shop across the street. Then he ran a "buy one, get one curse-free" sale.
The Obsidian Chain backed off.
Temporarily.
