Annoyed at his father for stopping him Ares sent for the maiden Altrius whom he had proposed love to. As he wss thinking, he heard the army bow and thought it was the love of his life.
As he was about to approach her, he saw that it was his mother Hera, queen of the gods. Though Ares was annoyed about having his hopes up, he was excited in all. Hoping there was good news from her , Hera suddenly burst into tears crying bitterly . Though Ares was noted as the most ruthless of all of Zeus children, he had a strong emotional link with his mother.
Even as a child, whenever he heard his mother cry, he would also start crying. As a result, he had total resentment from his father Zeus. It was a result of this hatred that he was named the God of War. With a long lasting desire to make his father pay, Ares turned himself into the perfect killing machine. When Zeus felt his strength and strong determination, he decided to use him as his trump card. What Zeus didn't know was that, all Ares had ever wanted was his love. But Zeus never really cared about anything as long he was king.
