Chapter 111 - An Acquaintance

In truth, Tyche believed that the Elven pantheon should be more concerned about the news of the Spider Queen's ascension.

It was evident from the fact that the drow always received Lolth's favor when they used surface elves as sacrifices that the Spider Queen harbored the deepest grudge against Corellon Larethian. The Elven chief god's attitude towards his ex-wife was also quite intriguing; he did not kill her when Eilistraee was exiled from the Elven holy land of Arvandor.

Eilistraee soon returned to her divine throne in the name of Lolth, and during her period of weakness before regaining her power, Corellon still refrained from taking action.

But now things were different; Lolth, having become a greater deity, was no longer someone Corellon could simply overlook.

The avatar of Eilistraee once again arrived in Tyche's divine realm, and as expected, the Dark Maiden brought an invitation from the Elven chief god, Corellon.

The divine realms of the Elven gods were closely connected, forming the holy land of Arvandor. This plane, composed of divine realms, bordered the Wild Plains and maintained a certain cooperation with the Nature deity pantheon.

Tyche had expected to be accompanied only by the Elven gods, but upon arriving in Arvandor, she also saw the figures of Chauntea and Silvanus.

The three greater deities had different purposes; Lolth's influence was concentrated in the Underdark and did not substantially conflict with Chauntea or Silvanus. These two had no reason to oppose the Spider Queen for the sake of their slight connection with Corellon. Lolth was a formidable character who could even prevent Abyssal lords from gaining an advantage during her downfall, and the semi-independent Deeppit Magic Net plane from the Abyss made demons avoid it. The Spider Queen's reputation was earned through sheer might.

The hosts and guests took their seats, and Corellon once again urged Eilistraee to return to Arvandor, which she refused once more.

Tyche tactfully left the father and daughter alone and, under the guidance of the Elven goddess of love, Seraliriel, began to tour this beautiful divine realm.

The Elven artistic achievements far surpassed those of humans; many cities in human lands were remnants of Elven rule over the Material Plane.

When they reached the garden below the waterfall, Seraliriel had disappeared. Among the blooming flowers, the chief god of the Nature deity pantheon, the Oak Father Silvanus, was already waiting there, though it was unclear when he had arrived.

"Deity of Mercy, can you resolve a doubt for me?"

Silvanus, in the form of a young man dressed in a green robe, with a crown of oak branches and leaves adorned with golden moss, asked directly without beating around the bush after Tyche nodded.

"The spirits of nature submit to you; your essence seems to be the same as mine?"

The shadow of the World Tree flickered, intermingling with the oak tree behind Silvanus.

Ripples rippled through the air, and the overflowing vitality almost obscured the waterfall with the plants in the garden.

Leaving an invitation to the Wild Plains, Silvanus hurriedly left Arvandor.

"Prince Corellon, are you doing all this just to uncover my essence?"

Seraliriel, who had disappeared halfway, and Angiris, who had detained Chauntea, along with the gods being in the Elven divine realm, it could only be Corellon who arranged this series of coincidences.

"Yes."

Corellon emerged from behind a dense cluster of flowers, "You brought back the missing goddess of magic, and we want to know her purpose in recklessly triggering the magical network crisis."

"But what does this have to do with my essence?"

Tyche was puzzled; although she had managed to deceive them with the aura of the World Tree, she still felt wary. After all, Corellon wouldn't go through such great lengths just to determine her stance! And the purpose Corellon claimed to want to know why the goddess of magic caused the crisis seemed highly questionable to Tyche. If the Elven chief god was unaware that Ao had blocked the possibility of greater deities advancing further, then Sarenrae wouldn't have thought of him first when she proposed expanding the alliance.

"It's related," Corellon said meaningfully, "very related."

The world-spanning World Tree stretched its branches, and familiar runes flew out of Corellon's hands.

Tyche's eyes widened, and she blurted out, "Runic script!"

A white light shone in Corellon's eyes, and he transformed into an old acquaintance of Tyche, Odin!

You old dog!

Tyche almost cursed out loud.

"I've been trapped in this world for a long time, never showing my true form, but from your reaction, you recognize me."

Odin reverted to Corellon's appearance, "I don't remember you existing before I left my original body, but the aura of the World Tree is not false; you've seen my original form!"

"We are well acquainted," Tyche laughed, her avatar Lin Xiang was still in Odin's original body's world. What goes around comes around; now it was Odin's avatar that had fallen into her hands. Out of respect for an old acquaintance, Tyche wouldn't be too harsh.

The Spear of Destiny appeared in her hand, confirming the conclusion that Tyche and Odin were well acquainted.

"I can't contact my original body!" Corellon said with a worried face, "My original divinity was completely burned in the Chaos Sea, and after re-ascending to godhood, I can no longer locate the position of my original body."

"After all, you are a king of gods; you still reached the pinnacle of the gods."

Anyway, flattery costs nothing. Although Tyche didn't expect a few kind words to completely dispel this old dog's suspicions, it could at least bring them closer.

"When I was being hunted, I received help from a powerful being and was guided to find this world."

This was the plain truth, and Tyche spoke with conviction, "You've also noticed, haven't you! There's something wrong with Ao!"

The purpose of Odin sending his avatar was crystal clear; since the Twilight of the Gods was inevitable, it was better to find a new world to move to.

"Except for Lathander, who is kept by Chauntea, and Shouanna, who has lost her ambition, all the greater deities have their suspicions."

Corellon didn't hide it either, "The world's laws are not without a counterattack; the four elemental lords will not let Ao slaughter them at will."

"In the Disaster of the Saint, Ao only dared to cast down the human gods from their divine realms; the gods of elves, halflings, and dwarves were not affected, and even the orc gods, who were at odds with the Pan-human god system, were well in their divine realms. We all have trump cards that Ao fears; unless absolutely necessary, Ao would not be willing to fight us to mutual destruction."

Corellon shook his head somewhat contemptuously, "If it were the previous Ao, we would definitely give up resistance and leave this world! But the current Ao is not yet at the point where we would surrender without a fight. After all, he is just a great god who has not yet transcended; as long as the laws do not recognize his rule, he cannot fully control this world and step into supremacy."

"Ao's blockade of the ascension path of greater deities undoubtedly stands in opposition to all the gods; the gods have taken over the authority of the laws. If he cannot make the gods wholeheartedly support him as the king of gods, the laws will never recognize him!"

This was an unexpected delight; Tyche's eyes flickered.

If what Corellon said was true, this Ao was not the previous one, and combined with the sudden appearance of adventurers and the Alliance of Creation Gods, the answer was already obvious.

"No way."

Tyche murmured, "This world can't really be an experimental field, can it?"

The rigid factional divisions had a familiar taste; Tyche quickly accepted this result after a brief moment of distraction.

Even if it really was an experimental field, so what? The emotions of these lives were so real; Tyche couldn't treat them as mere expendables.

"And the previous Ao? Did he just disappear like that?"

Corellon shook his head, "He died, died completely. He died suddenly during a sleep, and then the new Ao immediately appeared to take over his identity!"

Outside the crystal wall system, Tyche's original body once again sensed the arrival of adventurers.

In the Hall of Knowledge, another avatar of Tyche couldn't wait to come to the Material Plane.

The adventurers this time were more numerous than last time; for safety reasons, Tyche didn't approach them proactively.

In Yegg's memory, the adventurers in the camp to rescue Worgin didn't say a word; but now Tyche heard the Common language and the adventurers' lip movements didn't match at all. The influence of the Alliance of Creation Gods was evident in every aspect, with almost no flaws!

The temple of Worgin was bustling; the busy golden-eyed messengers had a momentary daze as Worgin's consciousness descended into her body.

As Tyche had anticipated, Worgin's memories were seamlessly connected, without any curiosity about the adventurers, as if she had never mentioned their strange disappearance to the gods of the True Neutral faction before.

Tyche watched the adventurers enter the temple's treasury, and a spark of inspiration struck her.

A die mixed in with the pile of gold coins, which wouldn't attract anyone's attention on the street, stood out among the treasures, yet all the adventurers focused their attention on this unremarkable die the moment the treasury door opened.

The fact that the adventurers noticed the die Tyche placed there immediately indicated that they had a unified value judgment system! And it was highly precise!

The treasury was full of sub-gods and demi-gods, and legendary weapons that left behind legends were countless, but the adventurers unanimously reached out to grab the unremarkable die.

The invisible battle was decided in an instant; the petite girl moved like the wind, picking up the die under the protection of her companions.

"Our team is willing to give up other benefits! Don't forget, it was our team that completed the task of saving the goddess of wealth; leaving you a share is already generous."

The masked man seemed to be the leader; he blocked the girl without showing weakness, leading his companions away under the envious gaze of the others.

In the corner of the tavern, the girl who grabbed the die couldn't hide her joy, "Captain, we hit the jackpot this time! It's the first time I've seen equipment that can increase true luck attribute; not only does it help with looting and opening chests, but it also gives bonuses to task settlements!"

The man took off his mask and said with a smile, "I told you keeping a back channel would yield greater rewards. You're not regretting keeping the points for the follow-up tasks now, are you? So, you have to think long-term—whoa!"

Before the man could finish, several barriers had already blocked Tyche, who had appeared.

The black-haired girl smiled as bright as the sun, walked through the barriers, and hugged the stunned man tightly.

"Long time no see," Tyche sighed, "Brother."

Amidst the astonished eyes of her teammates, Lin Su's eyes reddened, "Sister, how are you here?"

"It's a long story," Tyche patted Lin Su's back, "I've been here longer than you guys. By the way, my name is now Tyche, although I'd prefer to hear you call me Lin Xiang."

After calming her excited emotions, looking at the culprit who caused her plane crash, Lin Xiang's anger flared, and she slapped the face that resembled hers by seventy percent.

"You don't answer calls! You don't reply to emails! Where the hell have you been!"

Lin Su, who was pulled off the wall by his teammates, twisted his neck and replied, "I stayed up all night playing games and got hungry; who knew I'd get hit by a construction truck on the way. When I woke up, I was kidnapped by a big glowing ball and signed a series of unequal treaties, and then I was exploited into becoming an employee without benefits."

"What about you? After I completed the newbie mission and returned, I only found the wreckage of the crashed plane, and you're still on the missing persons list."

Talking about this accident made Lin Xiang itchy to hit someone, "It's all because of you! If I weren't in a hurry to find you, I wouldn't have changed my flight!"

Lin Su laughed it off and immediately changed the subject, "Looks like you're doing well! Both of us got into traffic accidents; how come you got reincarnated while I thought you were also kidnapped by the big glowing ball, and I was planning to post a missing person notice in the trading area."

"Well, it's not exactly reincarnation; I was fished out by the goddess of magic."

After all, there were strangers present, and Lin Xiang didn't want to explain too clearly.

"Anyway, I am now the goddess of mercy in this world; covering for you guys is still no problem."

Hearing this, Lin Su immediately checked the information on his watch and then scratched the back of his head in amazement, "Should I say you're lucky or unlucky? The Faerûn world isn't peaceful."

Lin Xiang also remembered the reason she sought out adventurers and immediately led everyone to the temple.

"Did you go to the Abyss to rescue Worgin last time because of Ao?"

Lin Su shook his head, "We chose that mission ourselves; if I had known you were here, I would have come to find you first."

Then he turned to the girl, "Lend me 50,000 points; I don't have enough points."

The girl nodded silently, and the points were transferred through their watches.

"Take this; the big glowing ball prohibits us from revealing more information. Wear the watch, and you can become an explorer like us. The Faerûn world has long been arranged by the big glowing ball; being a guide is easier than being a native god, right?"

The moment the watch was worn, a familiar power activated it, and only the wearer could hear the mechanical voice.

Before Lin Xiang could check the task module that appeared on the watch, her consciousness was transported to a disc.

The golden disc was composed of various rings, rotating along different trajectories; all that could be seen, besides a brilliant golden brilliance, was deep darkness.

At the very center of the disc sat a group of Creation Gods, one of whom was Ilúvatar, whom Tyche had met once before.
