In a damp cave, Argus slowly opened his eyes, his hands were stiff and so were his leg but he lives and that's all that matters to him.
He coughs, dirt and dust coming out of his mouth like a fountain as he turned and proned on his arms, his expression was one of pain, one of confusion as the sudden beam of light was something he didn't anticipate.
" Oi eclipse, What the hell was that thing?" Argus asked his judge spirit as he crawled himself out of the rubble piled upon him as he looked around.
He was in the cave, his hideout, but the entrance was shut off from a variety of stuff ranging from broken charred logs to boulders of dirt.
Ring , a sound echoes in his ears as the next second a bunch of panels appear in front of him, one with something like a text log, a database page and finally a class selection panel.
'I have went into power save mode, only text communication enabled.' A message pops up on the text log, followed by a transformation of the database panel that now showed a winged figure similar to one Argus saw.
[Species Encyclopedia]
[ Race: Angel]
[Sub-species: minor angel, slpyh]
[ Danger to host: Minimal]
[ Description: A minor angel that follows the path of light. The angel species are widely known for their overwhelming obsession with fate and faith, any sort of demon connection will ensure (sworn enemy) level hostility.]
"You're telling me that guy who blew that demon up with a orbital cannon was a lowest ranked angel? You must be kidding me." Argus said, baffled and astonished by the raw power from just a minor angel.
Another message pops up on the text log ' A slpyh is by no means a weakling as even the lowest of angels must be either descendants of other angels or be ascended to after second major class ascension.'
"What's a ascension? Is it like one those star things in games," Argus asked as he lifted himself up from the ground and started moving towards his base, "Or maybe like one of tho-"
This time, the class panel changed as it now showed a wide tree of classes that show the class tree for angel.
[Class: minor angel]
[Ascension method: endure a process of holy cleansing]
[Ascension requirements: 6th tier class related to holy/light faction and attributes or have a holy blessing]
[Difficulty: Extremely painful yet minimal risk]
[Failure condition: Fainting during the ascension]
' A ascension is a change in class that occurs every third class change where you upgrade your new class after changing,' the text appeared again as Eclipse gives Argus a explanation, ' you don't have to do it right after class change and your performance in the process will affect your new class grade.'
"So that was a guy give class tiers above me." , Argus felt relieved, having calmed down his feeling of inferiority, he soon reached his hideout only to be greeted again by Nethan's diary and his stone bed.
Weakly he smiles, the warmth of the exhausted bonfire still giving him reassurance of his survival, he leaned against the wall as he slowly walked to the bed and collapsed on it.
"This world is cruel, No wonder i haven't seen any beggars in the town. They have already died to move to safer area." Argus mummers as he ripped a sleeve from one of his spare shirts and bandages his arm, "I should really change my class."
He swipes in the air, tapping into his status menu as he called out his class page and proceeds to rethink all his the choices he had.
"Either a instant boost but become a global or a temporary nerf in exchange for learning speed.. I don't even need to consider Stowaway." He contempts, his brain gears churning in full overdrive, trying to get an answer.
Confused and unable to make a decision he turns to Eclipse again, 'he- it did say people would kill for the learning boost, maybe I should ask again.'
However he didn't have to ask as the next moment a text was already added to the text log.
' Learning boost ain't just some cheap thing like a memorizing skill, it affects everything from your skill proficiency gain to your memory and training speed for mental stats, even attributes are easier to get with one.'
"You must be kidding me right? That's overpowered!" Argus shouted, his voice almost vibrating the cave as he rose to his feets, only to fall on the floor and get a light concession, "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
Ding, 'Host never asked directly.' Eclipse texted shamelessly, shifting the blame to Argus without hesitation.
Argus was fuming, the very thought that he almost let go of a over powered skill for a maxed out global hostility was something that ate away at his gamer passion.
"From now on, give me a full explanation before giving such hollow advice" he Grumbled, his body already back onto the bed as quickly opened the class panel and red the description for the Burden class.
[Class name: Burden(Tier 1)]
[Associated skills: Adaptive boost(B)]
[Description: A class for those who are willing to take on hardships for better results]
[Requirements: Other worlder/ Cursed Attribute]
[Process: A heavy concession to the head]
"TF!? A concession to the head? I was gonna f****ing die if I didn't have the status boost from Judge class.", Argus looked around, searching for anything that can help until he saw the diary in the corner that had a metal cover, "That should work."
He stood up, still weakly walking to the book but not as weekly as before until he stood right in front of it, looking down on it from above.
He took deep breaths, trying to calm himself down as he tried to gather courage to do whatever it took but it is not really easy to convince himself to bash his head on metal.
He stood there for a few seconds but albeit, his willpower wasn't enough to overcome his instincts so he turned around, "maybe I will do it when I reach Grevois an-"
His thoughts were completely shattered as a tremor spread through the cave, causing the ground to collapse beneath him as he fell into a small geode of some crystal.
He didn't have the time to register the fall as the next second, as if luck wanted him to take the Burden Class. The Diary fell right on his head, knocking his weakened self unconscious in one clan hit.

*******
"Are you sure you sensed him here?"
"I guarantee it, I saw a executioner golem myself before I used star burst."
Two figures talked among themselves as they stood outside a blocked off entrance of a cave, it was Argus's hideout.
The first was a old man, with four wings on his back with a golden halberd in his hand, adorned in golden robes, had a braided beard that came to his chest and 10 rings, one in each finger.
The second was a young girl that was also adorned in golden robes but only had 2 wings on her back and had a golden sphere with Rings orbiting around it and on a constant spin like a planet ring. It was the slpyh that bombarded the demon.
Together they stare at the broken entrance, there eyes narrowed and in deep contempt as the old man slowly strode forward, swung his halberd at the entrance completely obliterating both the cave entrance along with his surroundings.
"Let's speed up, we don't have whole day." The old man said, his figure transforming into a blur as he vanished, arriving at Argus's hideout the next second.
He looked around, the girl appearing right behind as they both stare at the rock bed and the collapsed ground.
"Signs of stay, a bonfire and these cores ... This isn't the judge we know." the old man declared, his eyes flickering with flames as he sent out a wave and soon locked his eyes on the collapsed ground.
"You think it may be a-"
"Shh", the old man gestured as he stood at the edge of the fallen floor, his gaze stuck upon the knocked Argus as he slowly begins floating and flew down.
" Is he the judge?" The girl asked innocently while looking down, "Isn't he took shabby looking?"
"He is not. Even a judge without a primary class is supposed the aura of a first tier, however this guy is same if not weaker than a peak classless.", The old man went closer and lifted the book from above Argus's head, " I think he stumbled upon this place, noone worth mentioning."
"So what should we do?" The girl asked cutely as she closed in on the book and read through a few lines.
"Ethan's diary, That deserter... I hope he never arrives in heaven, for all the problem his escape has caused us." The old man scoffed, his voice filled with rage and fury as he humphed at Argus and turned out before leaving the cave in a split second.
The girl looked at Argus for a second, ingraving his face in her mind before she followed behind the old man and left the place as well.
If there was a word to describe good luck right now, it would be Argus's situation because all the coincidences from his otherworlder attribute to his accidental class change had came together and saved his hide from the punishment for all the deeds his predecessor has done.
He had escaped today but nobody knows when he will meet the angels again, not even himself.
