Damn, so this is the reason that dog was so bent on killing me. Oh? That puppy had a unique skill that grants the user the ability to see fortune and misfortune? Interesting. By the way I've been wanting to ask you, when Allen got Aurora's attention, how are my clothes still intact? Wow, are you just noticing? She gave him a bored expression...sigh, it's due to a skill all people with life affinity have, 'restoration' I helped you trigger your life element and it did the rest of the work. It can even restore non living things? That's impressive but why can't I use it? To awaken the life affinity, there are two ways, for the first, you have to be in a place concentrated with life as for the second, you have to be at deaths door. But I was close to dying, you had not gone through evolution yet so it wouldn't have awakened that was why I assisted your body but to truly be able to use it you must awaken the affinity yourself and lucky you, you're in a Forrest. So you better take advantage of your surroundings. Allen had lost track of time since he came into the forest as it was really dark and the sky didn't do anything to help, it was still dark and the rays of light from the red moon did little to brighten up the city not to talk of the forest where the leaves and branches of the tall trees prevent light from passing through but then how was Allen able to see, well let's just say Aurora at work.
I don't even know how much time has passed all I know is that I have lost count on the number of unranked animals I've killed and out of the ten rank 1 beasts only the mantis gave me something useful. As I told you, your soul is very picky. Do you know how long we've been here, of course, we've been here for a day. I expected that well, what are you doing? Aurora asked as she saw Allen jump to the branch of a big tree and set down his bag(from chapter 8) and started searching it, he took out his toothbrush and toothpaste with a bottle water and went down the tree and moving a few feet away began brushing his teeth. After washing his gace, he saw Aurora looking at him as if he was the weirdest creature she has seen in her entire life...There was silence for sometime, why are you staring at me like it is the first time you've seen such a handsome young man? Aurora rolled her eyes at his shameless question, I was just surprised that you still remember hygiene, anyways you have always been a clean freak, I am not, keep telling yourself that. Whatever, time to test this new baby out, Allen said while rubbing his palms together like a greedy merchant as he activated OPPORTUNIST, his brown eyes glowed with an ethereal light as it was as if new sets of color was added to the world. He could now see the different opportunities and misfortune but amidst all the glows, there was a blinding gold light in the distance and it was so bright that Allen had to look aside as it could leave him temporarily blind but surrounding the golden light was the darkest and most eerie shade of color he had ever seen. This was literally the higher the gain, the higher the risk involved. At first he just wanted to avoid the area but after telling himself that if he turns away from this little challenge, how will he be able to face any more challenge in the future. Stilling himself, Allen began his journey to a deeper part of the forest.
He encountered many unranked animals and even a few rank 1 like a two headed snake which after he killed and devoured made him awaken poison affinity, and a special type skill multitasking. He even encountered a skunk but decided to avoid it by taking another route for some important reasons with the main being what a skunk does best, or as Allen called it, 'stink bomb'. Upon getting closer to that region he noticed that the numbers of animals had significantly decreased, he felt eyes on him like a predator watching its prey so he just continued to act clueless, just then leopard that was surprisingly still the same size as a normal leopard before Earth's transformation as Allen wanted to strike at it, he stopped as he saw the leopard slowly moving back while shivering, Allen also felt serious fear for the first time since entering the forest, the leopard quickly ran away from the area but he knew running was not an option as he had been locked on to. Slowly turning his head, 'fuck' that was all he could utter.
