Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: Do You Want to Experience the Power of a God?

"Who the hell are you?"

Gato didn't seem to sense any impending doom. Instead, he noticed Izayoi's earlier disrespect and pointed at him, shouting, "What are those idiots outside doing? They didn't even notice an outsider coming in. Useless trash!"

Izayoi touched the chin of his mask and sighed, "It seems it's not the Hidden Mist Village's problem, but rather that those ninjas have been tamed by people like you, losing their ferocity. This explains why a rogue ninja, who could be a top-tier fighter in any of the Five Great Shinobi Countries, would choose to earn money through employment rather than killing a wealthy tycoon and seizing his fortune."

Hearing this, Momochi Zabuza's brow furrowed slightly. He instinctively glanced at Gato and suddenly felt that Izayoi's words made a lot of sense.

"What… what are you talking about?"

Izayoi's words also woke Gato up, reminding him that he was just an ordinary person, and the people in front of him were ninjas with extraordinary powers—rogue ninjas at that, wanted by major ninja villages.

Thinking of this, Gato immediately took a few steps back in fear and quickly shouted at Zabuza, "Zabuza, I'll give you ten million ryo! Kill this guy now!"

"Weren't you curious about how I got in?"

Izayoi raised his hand toward Gato and chuckled, "It's… because of this."

In an instant, Gato's body floated into the air and flew toward Izayoi.

Losing control of his body, Gato panicked and shouted, "Zabuza, save me!"

Whoosh—

Zabuza pushed Haku aside, gathered his strength, turned, and hurled the Executioner's Blade.

The massive Executioner's Blade spun through the air like a windmill shuriken, slicing through the air as it headed toward Gato.

Yes, the Executioner's Blade wasn't aimed at Izayoi but at Gato.

To be precise, Zabuza intended to kill both Gato and Izayoi in one strike.

"This guy is my cash cow. I can't let you kill him," Izayoi said with a smile, then raised his other hand.

In the next second, the rapidly spinning Executioner's Blade came to an abrupt halt, as if the surrounding space had frozen, and it hovered in mid-air.

Both Zabuza and Haku, witnessing this power for the first time, were visibly shocked, their pupils contracting.

"There's someone who calls himself a god because he wields a power no one can resist."

Izayoi gripped Gato's neck with one hand and spread the fingers of his other hand, his smile playful. "So, do you want to experience the power of a god?"

Before Zabuza and Haku could react, Izayoi softly uttered the name of a technique: "Almighty Push."

—Boom!

An invisible force of repulsion seemed to distort space, stripping Zabuza and Haku of their colors, turning their bodies into black-and-white shades like a manga, before they were engulfed in white light.

A heavy explosion erupted in the central area of the Land of Waves.

A thick cloud of dust rose into the sky, forming a mushroom cloud.

Many residents were startled by the explosion. When they saw that the mushroom cloud was rising from Gato's residence, their faces lit up with joy.

Some even clasped their hands in prayer, hoping that something had happened to Gato—preferably that he had died in the explosion.

The mushroom cloud rose quickly and dissipated just as fast.

Before reaching its peak, the artificial gale had already dispersed.

The villa had turned into ruins, and Izayoi, holding Gato by the collar, floated in mid-air.

The Tenseigan beneath his mask merely glanced at the debris before fixing on a particular spot.

With a casual wave of his hand, Izayoi activated the Attraction Technique, effortlessly moving the rubble aside to reveal Momochi Zabuza and Haku lying beneath, their bodies drenched in blood, multiple fractures evident, and severe internal bleeding.

Both were unconscious, clinging to their last breaths.

"Shadow Clone Technique."

Izayoi landed on the ground, forming a single-handed seal to create a Shadow Clone. He instructed the clone to treat Zabuza and Haku, ensuring they wouldn't die easily. Then, he patted the petrified Gato, who was too terrified to speak, and asked, "Is all your money stored in the safe in the basement?"

"Yes... yes, yes..."

Gato, snapping back to reality, nodded vigorously as if grasping at a lifeline. "All my money is in the safe. I have more money elsewhere, lots and lots of it. If you spare my life, I'll give you everything... Please, don't kill me! I beg you!"

By the end, Gato was a sobbing mess, utterly terrified.

It was no wonder he reacted this way.

To ordinary people, ninjas were lofty figures.

But to daimyos, nobles, and the wealthy, ninjas were merely useful tools.

Once he became wealthy, Gato saw ronin, rogue ninjas, and missing-nin as his tools.

As long as he paid, they would do anything.

Hiring missing-nin to do his bidding, he achieved his goals if they succeeded.

If they died, he saved money.

Neither the rogue ninjas nor the missing-nin had ever targeted his wealth.

Both Gato and the nobles subconsciously believed that ninjas wouldn't betray them and would adhere to professional ethics.

Even Kakuzu, a missing-nin who loved money as much as his life, worked jobs and hunted Black Market targets for money, never considering robbery.

But no one expected someone like Izayoi, a lawless, unprofessional lunatic.

Facing such a person for the first time, it was natural for Gato to be terrified.

"You have other treasure stashes?"

Izayoi's brow furrowed slightly as he pressed a specific acupoint on Gato's body, rendering him unconscious.

"Let's see how much money there is first."

Casually tossing Gato to the Shadow Clone, Izayoi raised his hands, releasing the Attraction Technique. Countless pieces of rubble floated into the air.

Soon, a staircase leading to the basement came into Izayoi's view.

He had already located the safe; otherwise, he wouldn't have recklessly unleashed the Repulsion Technique.

However, since there was no light source inside the safe, Izayoi didn't know what was hidden within.

That's why he kept Gato alive.

Descending the stairs to the basement, Izayoi stood before a two-meter-tall and wide metal safe with a combination lock.

He didn't know the combination, nor did he bother to wake Gato to ask.

Placing his hand on the door's edge, a loud bang echoed as the safe's door and frame instantly caved in and shattered.

After controlling the Repulsion to blast several times in succession, Izayoi successfully dismantled the door of the safe.

The contents of the safe were immediately revealed before Izayoi's eyes.

Without the obstruction of the safe door, a dazzling light radiated from within, enveloping Izayoi like a radiant glow.

Izayoi stood in front of the safe with his hands on

his hips.

If one were to remove his pure white mask, they would see that Izayoi's Tenseigan had disappeared, leaving only two large $ symbols in his eyes.
