Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Ninya Looks for Kael

Ninya appeared to be around Enri's age, about fourteen or fifteen years old. However, considering her experience as an adventurer for several years, the look in her eyes showed a maturity beyond her years, quite different from an ordinary teenager. She had a great interest in power, like most adventurers, which didn't surprise Rhodes with her question.

Rhodes answered Ninya with a friendly smile, "Yes, that's right. Enri used to be just an ordinary village girl, although she was very kind-hearted and hardworking. When our village suffered a terrible disaster and was saved by the miracle of the gods, she was fortunate enough to receive special attention. That's why she received such an extraordinary blessing."

"Is that so..." Ninya murmured softly after listening to Rhodes' explanation. However, in her mind, the reason she asked about Enri was slightly different from what Rhodes assumed. Her interest wasn't just an adventurer's desire to become strong, but it was also closely related to her bitter past.

Beneath her tomboyish appearance, Ninya was actually a girl. She also came from an ordinary village. Her parents had passed away when she was very young, leaving her to rely solely on her older sister. Then, tragedy struck when her sister was abducted by a wicked nobleman who intended to make her his concubine. Ninya knew very well how difficult life was for a commoner, especially for an orphan like her. If by becoming that nobleman's concubine, her sister could live a comfortable life, Ninya might have felt dissatisfied, but she would still have given her blessing with a heavy heart. However, the rumors she later heard pointed to a much worse reality.

Ninya had pleaded for help from the people in her village, hoping someone would have the power to rescue her sister, but her efforts were in vain. It was impossible for ordinary people to fight against the power of nobles, and there was no hope for them to stay in the village and expect a miracle to happen. That was why she decided to leave her village and embark on a dangerous journey to seek enough power to save her only remaining family.

Goddess Fortuna seemed to still be on her side. After leaving the village, she met a magic caster who saw her hidden potential. Her natural talent as a sorcerer was revealed, and with hard work, she managed to reach the silver-ranked adventurer level. However, Ninya knew very well that her current strength was still far from enough to face the cruel nobles. She could only continue to train and improve her abilities, although she was haunted by the fear that if she lingered for too long, by the time she finally gained the power she needed, her sister might no longer be able to hold on.

Hearing the story about Enri and the divine blessing she received, a tiny spark of hope suddenly ignited in Ninya's heart that had been shrouded in despair. If she could get the same opportunity, she wouldn't even need to reach Miss Enri's level of power. As long as she became a magic caster capable of using fourth-tier magic, perhaps, just perhaps, she could save her sister from the clutches of those evil nobles!

With her hand gripping her magic staff tightly, Ninya mustered the courage to ask Rhodes, "Mr. Emmot, where is this god you mentioned? Is it... is it possible for me to meet him?"

Rhodes was stunned for a moment at the sudden question, then looked Ninya up and down with an inquisitive gaze. In the Black Sword team, besides Captain Peter and himself, there were also the young ranger Lukluth and the magic caster Ninya. After listening to the Emmot family's tragic experiences, Peter and Dain showed some sympathy and admiration in their voices, but they didn't have the same strong and hopeful reaction as Ninya.

After hesitating for a moment, Rhodes answered Ninya in a cautious tone, "That god... should still be in E-Rantel. Regarding your meeting with him..." He paused, trying to recall what Enri had told him. "I heard from Enri that the God seems to be planning to build a magnificent cathedral in E-Rantel to recruit more believers destined to find their fate. Maybe... maybe you could try to look for information there."

"So, that's it!" Ninya's eyes suddenly lit up brightly, as if she had just seen a glimmer of light in the darkness. A sincere smile bloomed on her lips as she thanked Rhodes in a hopeful tone. "Mr. Emmot, thank you so much for telling me this news! It means a lot to me."

"You're welcome, Miss Ninya. Besides, it's not a big secret. Almost everyone in our village knows about the plan," Rhodes replied with a sincere smile and shook his head slightly. "The Supreme God doesn't forbid anyone from speaking about Him, and since He plans to establish a magnificent church, the more famous the church becomes, the more likely it will attract others to join and receive His blessings. Perhaps... perhaps this is one of the reasons why the God asked me and the others to become adventurers, to spread the good news about Him."

The same moonlight illuminated the night sky, but over a different stretch of wilderness.

"Alright, everyone," Momonga said in a low voice, having disguised himself as a valiant dark warrior. "Nabe and I will go and rest first. We'll be back in time when it's time to change watch."

"Understood, thank you for your hard work, Momonga-san, Narberal-san," one of the adventurers replied respectfully.

After exchanging simple greetings, Momonga stood up and walked towards the resting tent specially prepared for them, followed by the ever-loyal Narberal Gamma behind him. The two entered the tent, and the thick door curtain seemed to block all prying eyes from the outside world. Once inside, Momonga let out a sigh of relief.

In the morning, the Adventurers' Guild issued a special commission to the adventurers cooperating with the Carne Village residents, which was to recruit other adventure teams to carry out a unique "teaching" mission. Although some adventurers were dissatisfied with this seemingly obvious preferential treatment, most of them eventually stopped complaining after the Adventurers' Guild wisely explained the close relationship between the villagers and the little girl named Enri who possessed extraordinary magical power. In this world, a magic user capable of using sixth-tier magic indeed deserved to enjoy special privileges.

Having realized this, Momonga had even briefly considered letting Narberal show a small portion of her true strength, but in the end, he managed to restrain himself. Through his careful investigation in this new world, he concluded that third-tier magic was the highest limit that ordinary humans could reach. Therefore, he publicly announced that Nabe was a magic caster who had reached that astonishing level of power. In this way, they wouldn't attract the attention of unknown forces by being too conspicuous, and at the same time, they wouldn't be looked down upon too much in this harsh adventurers' industry. Everything was going well and balanced. Rashly revealing their true identities just to gain a little extra privilege was not necessarily a wise move for the entire Nazarick.

"Nabe," Momonga said in a serious tone, "I will have Pandora's Actor come and replace me temporarily later. You must cooperate with him and absolutely do not reveal our true identities to anyone, understand?"

Momonga's warrior armor disappeared in an instant, and he returned to his original form as the majestic Overlord of Death. Then, he gave clear instructions to Narberal.

Narberal nodded solemnly, her eyes showing unwavering loyalty. "As you command, Lord Momonga."

"Alright, then I will return to the Great Tomb of Nazarick for a while," Momonga said. After confirming there were no further issues, he activated teleportation magic and disappeared in the blink of an eye, leaving Narberal alone in the tent.

When he reappeared, he was back at the entrance of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, located dozens of kilometers away from their temporary campsite. Below him stretched a expanse of undulating hills that looked empty without any visible buildings. This was a normal and deliberate sight.

After transmigrating to this mysterious other world, Momonga took strict precautions to avoid the exposure of their great tomb's existence and attract disturbances and invasions from powerful beings from other worlds. He disguised all the surface buildings with the help of Mare Bello Fiore's intricate illusion magic, the sixth-level guardian NPC who excelled in nature manipulation. The tomb was made to look inconspicuous by subtly altering the terrain contours, and then a powerful illusionary cover was placed over the main entrance, completely concealing the entire entrance area from ordinary eyes. This illusion was strong enough to deceive the eyes of enemies who might be searching for them, but it would not affect the vision of Nazarick's loyal servants.

Momonga descended slowly from the sky, passing through the invisible layers of illusionary protection, and landed smoothly right on a hidden stone wall, where a young dark elf had been faithfully waiting for him. He was Mare Bello Fiore. By the way, his appearance was that of a cute boy dressed in feminine clothing, a deliberate visual trap.

"Lord Momonga, here," Mare said in a soft and slightly nervous voice as Momonga just landed. He hurried forward and opened his palm towards Momonga. In his small palm lay a golden ring inlaid with a fiery red ruby - the invaluable Ring of Ainz Ooal Gown.
