Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Heavy Deer!!!!

The Heavy Deer was a massive deer that stood over 24 feet tall and had green fur that almost looked like moss and dark black antlers that were harder and heavier than most metals. It had a capture level of 31, now for reference, a monster with a capture level of 10 is more than capable of easily destroying a high tech armored tank. A monster of this magnitude was currently running wild where me and the other participants were taking our exam. The IGO desperately sent hunters to at least get a visual on the monster but they couldn't.

There was one person in the hunting zone who had a visual on the monster. It was a young man named Chipp. Chipp was a short young man with a blonde bowl cut. Apparently he was 17 but if you told me he was 7 I'd believe it because he was so comically small. Which I guess made sense considering that I was in a comic book now. Though it was a bit bizarre to see in person. He had just taken down the final monster he needed to make the required point total to pass when the Heavy Deer appeared in his path.

"Oh no! Is that a Heavy Deer? I thought they said there would only be low level monsters here and I was careful to avoid any level 2 or 3 monsters while I was out here. This must be some kind of mistake! I don't have any equipment that can handle something like that!" He thought as the Heavy Deer's gaze and was paralyzed.

As I was worried about my own score as I figured the time I had remaining was dwindling, I happened to come across some tracks which I found familiar.

"These tracks, they're Heavy Deer tracks. We had them back home. I didn't expect to see them here. I wonder what capture level they are a 1 maybe? 3? I don't have any idea, but I guess I could follow these tracks and see what happens." I thought.

When I followed the tracks I saw the kid Chipp and saw that he seemed to be in some distress, so walked over to him to see what the matter was.

"Hey kid, what seems to be the problem here?" I asked."

"L-Look." He stammered out as he pointed at the Heavy Deer.

"Huh? Oh, you mean the Heavy Deer? What about it?" I asked.

"Its capture level is way too high! We need to get out of here." He said hysterically.

"What are you talking about? Wait a minute, what's the capture level of the five monsters you caught?"

"I- they're level 1, why is that important right now?" He asked with a puzzled expression.

"Ah, I see that's what the situation is." I said as I assumed that I had a grasp on the situation. "This Heavy Deer must be a capture level 3, and that's too much for him that's why he stuck to capturing level 1 monsters. So if I take this Heavy Deer out and then get two of the same monsters he got then I should pass no problem." I thought to myself.

When I was training in the village I was training to develop an ability. Toriko could cut with his hand like a knife, Coco had poison in his body that he could manipulate. These abilities are something that they developed based on their personal experiences, so I probably couldn't have developed the same abilities as them. In the village I grew up in we hunted using spears, so I used that experience when I worked on my own ability.

As I stood in the path the Heavy Deer and it reared up to charge at me. As it charged at me I unleashed my ability.

"Hunting Spear!!!!!"

I flattened my hand into the shape of a spear, and thrust it in the direction of the deer. Suddenly, a wound appeared on the deer's chest as if it was struck by an invisible spear.

The Heavy Deer dropped dead and several of the trees behind it dropped down as well.

"Alright, I now I just got to get two more then I should be able to pass-" Just as I was saying that an alarm that signified that the time for the exam started going off. "Oh no! I screwed up! I didn't get enough monsters in time!" I said as I panicked knowing that I'd definitely failed this time.

"That was incredible, killed a monster as powerful as a Heavy Deer with one hit. It didn't even seem difficult for him. Who is this guy?" Chipp thought to himself.
