I started and the cold metal table. "I can't stay here. I don't deserve to be here." I said to Dr Lammy. She ignored me. Everything I said, she would only listen to what she wanted to hear. Even if I told her that what I did was to protect another human being...it didn't even matter by a sliver.
"Killing is against the law, regardless of the reason." She crossed her arms and stayed seated, she wouldn't leave until she got what she wanted. The only things I could tell her were why I killed Noah and Tamm and what went on in that house. The torute cut deep.
She pulled out a file with my recent mug shots. Shows me all the scars and lacerations on my skin, mostly the back.
"Where did these come from, Leon? Because this can't stay hidden." She said with curiosity but no sympathy. On her face was only a slight smile, as if she couldn't care less about how I lived there.
"Who do you think? Haven't you checked the whips, the hot branding iron? And the fact that you need more info about this is just crazy, just send me to prison already." My fists clenched tightly, covered with metal. I looked up at her to see the very same iron.
"There were bits of skin left on this. And it matches the mark on your back, it says "Falur", right? It looks messed up...like it was smeared. What does that mean?" beside was a suitcase of various whips... alongside the most used one covered in dry blood.
"It's called Failure. Noah did it. It hurt deep, and it cooked me. So if you're wondering why I did this, I think you know why. I am done talking to you." I shut her off and just looked away. I can't stand her, she was just as selfish as they were.
"No, this isn't how it works. You have to talk to us. And if you don't, you will be put elsewhere...not in prison!" She yelled seriously.
I stay quiet. I didn't say any more words...just silence. She stood up and kept asking. "Leon, can you talk to me?" "Leon, if you don't speak, you will regret it...!" As If I gave a damn anyway.
She gave up trying to get me to talk and called in the units to put me in my cell. Before I knew it, I was sent right to prison. Inside my cell, right across a slightly empty section. Next to me were very few inmates. But one looked different, but not from me. Almost like my own flesh.
The day passed as he kept his distance. Brooding and silent, we were not so different in behavior. I went to the courtyard outside, where many inmates would work out or do things that many people who weren't bright would do.
A few weeks passed, and I was sent back into the same room. I was given another chance to talk. Dr. Lammy sat across my me with her arms folded and impatience.
"I got some information, Leon. About your past. Many of them will leave you with questions, which will be answered if you answer mine. Do you get it?" She said, demanding, It was like she was eager to get informed. Was there something I was missing? "Your real name was Leon Josh Tyromus. Your real mother was Yuri Perry Tyromus. She was Puerto Rican."
I looked up and felt my heart skip a beat as soon as she mentioned my real mother. Yuri? Puerto Rican? Dead or Alive? "Real, mother?"
"Unfortunately, she is long dead. Sorry that... you will never get to meet her. It's a shame. She was known to be infertile, but a miracle happened during a cult. They said you were born from ritual, and that your father was somewhere else. Not only that, but two other babies were born in the same area that day. They are known as Callith Enix and Callum Marty."
"I have...two brothers? What happened? Why didn't I hear about this my whole life?" I stared at the photos of them. Both were looking very happy and were mug shots.
"Why do they both have mug shots? Tell me they didn't do anything bad." I hoped for a better explanation of why this was going on. My life has been a lie.
"I don't know...you tell me. You all murdered your parent. Somehow, I feel like you all were in it together, like you really did know about each other...if so, you better speak up, because all of you are on the list for the death penalty."
"I planned nothing. I bet they didn't plan anything either. Wait...where are they?" I look around for any paper that reads anything that could give me clues.
"That is out of the discussion, Leon. Besides, I don't know where Callith is. But I can tell you this...Callum will be put to death soon because of his actions. Will not be attending to watch." As if I wanted to anyway. She was another cruel monster like everyone else. "People are greedy, I hate them...so much. I want to...I want to...I don't know what I can do that would be the right thing."
"So, what is it, are you all planning some kind of crime? Because if you are...you can say goodbye to your life as well. You and Callith, when I find out where he is." She got up and was about to leave, leaving the papers on the table for me to look at before getting someone to collect them as evidence.
"How could you not know where my brothers are? You know so much about everything else, what kind of business are you pulling exactly? because it doesn't feel right to me, even if I am guilty." She continued to walk away ignoring me. "You can't just walk away from me, you wanted me to talk, and here you go." That was it, she was gone. And I have to find out what was going on.
I went back to my cell, sitting on what bed I had. All night I was awake thinking about everything about my existence. That's when I hear another voice from the other cell next to me. "You alright? I feel something about you, not evil...but pain, guilt, and hatred."
