Chapter 35 - 35 The Prominent Person

The military strategy course at the Martial Arts Academy is divided into many subjects, including battlefield command, city defense dispatch, logistics support, field warfare, mountain warfare, etc.

Each course has a dedicated instructor, and the academy allows students to choose the subject they are most interested in, so the number of students studying each course is different. The most popular one is of course battlefield command, followed by city defense dispatch, then field warfare and mountain warfare, and as for logistics...

As the instructor of the logistics support course in the academy, Robert was known as "a piece of coal" in the academy. It was not that he was unlucky, but that the logistics support course was really unpopular.

If you learned well, you would only be a quartermaster by the time you graduated. This was such a shabby position for the noble young masters who were ambitious and eager to kill enemies and make achievements on the battlefield.

Therefore, some freshmen would occasionally come to listen to the course once or twice when they first came in, but after figuring out the truth about this course, they all chose to skip the class.

Robert was now used to it. One or two students were missing from his class every day. So he was known as "one class", and later it evolved into "a piece of coal".

In the already empty classroom, the students scattered in groups were all drowsy. If it weren't for the hand supporting their chin, Robert had no doubt that they would fall asleep on the table. These freshmen were relatively good, at least they lasted a week. Robert remembered that Earl Hayden's child had slipped away in the middle of the class, not giving him, the instructor, any face at all.

As Robert dismissed the class, the students who were about to die seemed to be thrown back into the water after being landed, and they instantly regained their spirits. If their disappearance speed could be calculated, it would definitely be a very impressive number.

"Ah..." Robert shook his head, smiled self-deprecatingly, and began to pack up the various materials that he had carefully prepared but had not been able to use.

In the past few years, he had experienced such moments too many times and had long been numb. The empire set up this subject and transferred him, a battlefield quartermaster who had fought for many years, to the academy in the western border.

The original intention was to cultivate more diverse talents, but there was no other way. How could the "heroes" be willing to be such a lowly official? Civilians were willing to learn, but they could not afford such expensive tuition.

As he was sitting and collecting his things, Robert suddenly felt someone blocking the sunlight above his head, and a shadow covered him tightly. He looked up and saw a student with red hair, holding a notebook in his hand, standing there quietly waiting for him.

He recognized this student, one of the freshmen who had just entered this year. He was the most diligent of all the freshmen. He sat in the first row in every class and was very serious when taking notes.

"Kid, what can I do for you?" After all, in front of his students, Robert felt that he still had to maintain some image. He sat upright and smiled what he thought was a kind and amiable smile.

"Teacher, I have a question." Roger glanced at the notes in his hand. "You just said that the empire currently uses Dudu horses for logistics transportation of large quantities of food or military equipment. But as far as I know, Dudu horses are a short breed of horses with slow feet. Wouldn't it delay military operations if they were transported in this way? If we use the snow horses from the north, which are tall, fast, and cold-resistant, wouldn't it shorten the transportation time?"

Robert stared at Roger like he was looking at a genius, and it took him a long time to squeeze out a sentence: "Are you... serious?" Roger scratched his head and smiled bitterly: "Do I look not serious?"

"Oh, no, no." Robert waved his hands hurriedly. To be honest, this was the first time he had met a student who would discuss academic issues with him so seriously since he came to the West. Usually, those naughty kids either called him one class or gave him a nickname. No one really took him seriously.

"We have considered the problem you mentioned a long time ago." Robert's expression became more serious when talking about his expertise. "The Dudu horse is very short, but it also has its own advantages over other horse breeds. It is small in size, so it consumes very little food and grass. Basically, for a round trip of dozens of kilometers, it can save more than half of the grass compared to the snow horse. In addition, the Dudu horse has strong endurance and vigorous energy. It can transport food for several days without rest. Other horses cannot do this. Therefore, although they are not fast, they spend more time running, so the speed of transportation will not be slower, but faster."

"So that's how it is!" Roger nodded and started writing down the details in his notebook.

"Kid, are you interested in logistical support?"

"Yes, I must learn it well. It will be very useful in future battles."

Robert looked at Roger and nodded with satisfaction. It was rare to find a student with such a positive attitude. "Then you can come here often for classes. If you have any questions, you can ask me. As long as you have any questions, the teacher will definitely help you solve them."

"Okay, thank you, teacher. Oh, it's getting late, I still have to go to the battlefield command class. Teacher, I will come to ask you next time..."

"How many classes has this kid taken?" Robert looked at Roger's impetuous figure and said with a smile, "I don't know how long he can last."

Robert probably didn't expect that Roger, this monster, took all the classes available at the martial arts academy. The first class in the morning was the logistics support class, then the battlefield command class, followed by the field warfare class.

After a short break after lunch, he went straight to the city defense dispatch class, then the mountain class, and in the evening he went to the martial arts and fighting spirit training class in the martial arts arena. He practiced until very late, and when he returned to his residence, the others had already fallen asleep.

In the whole day, except for the one or two hours after dinner, he ran around everywhere. Of course, after dinner, he would go to the library to read the books inside.

Because of his high attendance rate, Roger became a celebrity in the martial arts academy in just a few days. Some students were enjoying afternoon tea when they suddenly found a figure running in a hurry behind them. They smiled knowingly, as this was already a common scene. Some enthusiastic ones even shouted for Roger and cheered him up.

There is a reason why Roger is so crazy. He knows how dangerous Sophia position is now. Challenging the dignity of the royal family is like walking on a single-plank bridge on the edge of a cliff. If you are a little careless, you will be doomed. So he must grow up as soon as possible. For the woman he loves, he must grow into a big tree as soon as possible to support her. Of course, it is also for his own ambition.

With his not-so-dull aptitude and such hard training, he had made significant progress in his fighting spirit in just over a month. He had now been promoted to a mid-fourth-rank swordsman, and his swordsmanship had also improved a lot. He had discarded many of the flashy sword moves taught by Old John, and now his moves were simple and ruthless, often fatal with one blow.

Because of his diligence, he also had a very good reputation among many tutors. When talking about the freshman Roger, the tutors often praised him highly. Of course, they did not praise how smart he was, but how hardworking he was. Some tutors even used him as an example to educate those lazy and indolent noble children.

Through contact with the tutors, Roger also basically got to know them. The tutors of military strategy were all retired officers on the battlefield. They fought for the country all their lives and hoped to make use of their remaining energy after retiring.

Therefore, they attached great importance to the subjects they taught. They spent most of their lives in the library and their own residence. Roger saw the spirit of craftsmen who studied all their lives in them, which made Roger admire them very much. Because they were once officers, they were loyal to the empire. If there was a disagreement between the Marquis's Mansion and the royal family, they would be the first to jump out to support the royal family.

Of course, if the West Territory was not opposed to the empire, but the academy changed a few leaders, these old pedants who worked hard all day would not pay so much attention.

As for the martial arts instructors, they were all famous swordsmen or sword masters among the adventurers. They were hired by the school and were a bit like mercenaries. So they didn't care who was in charge of the academy, whether it was the Marquis's Mansion or the royal family, it didn't matter.

Every Wednesday, a truck carrying fruits, vegetables and bread would arrive at the academy's cafeteria. One or two of the porters were disguised as members of the Hades Mercenary Group. Roger would always give them the information he had sorted out to take out, and learn about the current development of the mercenary group from them. The newcomers didn't know that Roger was their leader, they only knew that he was a spy planted in the academy by Deputy Leader Randy.

There is a wall between the Magic Academy and the Martial Arts Academy, with a gate in the middle. It is usually not open. Students from the two academies are allowed to visit each other only when there are no classes on Sundays.

Every Sunday, Roger would take time to go to Lilith to learn about her life in the Magic Academy. The little succubus has been with Roger for a few months. She is very smart and Roger is not worried about her being bullied. Instead, she is so beautiful and has an exaggeratedly good figure that she attracts a lot of suitors. When Roger first going to find Lilith, he saw all kinds of courtship methods of those nobles, which opened his eyes.

They thought Roger was Lilith's lover, but after hearing that they were just cousins, the cold hearts of the nobles became warm again. In order to please Lilith, they even tried to please Roger.

So every time Roger came back from the magic academy, he would hold a lot of things, including food, clothing and daily necessities. Those who didn't know would think that he sneaked out of the academy to go shopping.

"If they knew the true relationship between Lilith and me, they would probably vomit blood and die." Every time Roger shamelessly accepted gifts from them, he would chuckle in his heart.
