Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: A Battle for Affection

In the arena, after a few minutes of combat, Xiao Wu finally unleashed her third and first soul skills.

Above her, a purple and a yellow soul ring lit up one after another.

Teleport!

Waist Bow!

Xiao Wu's figure suddenly vanished and reappeared behind Zhou Bing. The latter didn't even have time to react.

Bang!

The next moment, a pink glow of soul power flashed in Xiao Wu's hand, transforming into a strangely shaped hammer that she swung down hard at the back of his head.

Of course, she held back her strength—if she hadn't, even a Beast Spirit Soul Elder like Zhou Bing would've ended up with his skull cracked and bleeding.

Xiao Wu's third soul skill, Teleport, was just too overpowered. Its range was limited to a few meters, but that was more than enough to shift the tide of battle in an instant.

As she won the match, the crowd erupted in thunderous cheers, as if a tidal wave had swept through the arena.

Even the referee looked slightly stunned before finally announcing Xiao Wu's victory in front of tens of thousands of spectators.

"She… she won!"

"And so easily!"

Dai Mubai stood frozen, staring blankly at the Soul Arena. He mumbled to himself.

Although he had reached Rank 37, if he were to face Zhou Bing—even knowing the latter's soul skills—his chances of winning would be no more than twenty percent.

And yet, someone of the same level as him—Xiao Wu—had defeated Zhou Bing effortlessly.

For the first time, Dai Mubai began to doubt his own White Tiger Martial Soul.

White Tiger Martial Soul, truly one of the most elite beast-type spirits in the continent?

Then why is it inferior to a Soft Bone Rabbit?

Does that make any sense?

Just as these doubts swirled in his mind, a spark of realization flashed in Dai Mubai's eyes.

No—that's not it!

The royal Star Luo Empire's White Tiger Spirit wasn't feared only for its raw power. What truly made it unparalleled was their Martial Soul Fusion Technique.

Dai Mubai felt confident. If he and Zhu Zhuqing could execute the fusion skill together, not only Zhou Bing and Xiao Wu—even a Soul Elder over level 40 wouldn't be a match for them.

With that thought, his eyes darted toward Zhu Zhuqing, who sat at the edge of the viewing area. His gaze burned with intensity.

She had been cold toward him these past few days, but Dai Mubai believed in himself.

As long as he swallowed his pride a bit and acted apologetically, he was sure she would forgive him.

After all, dealing with women—wasn't it just a matter of effort?

More importantly, if Zhu Zhuqing didn't want to be dragged into a power struggle between Davis and Zhu Zhuyun, she had no other choice.

Just as Dai Mubai was daydreaming about their future, Zhu Zhuqing noticed his gaze and immediately stood up in disgust. She turned to Qi Lin and said, "It's almost my turn. I'll go get ready."

Qi Lin nodded and smiled, "Go ahead. Do your best."

"Mhm." Zhu Zhuqing's cold expression softened slightly into a rare smile.

Dai Mubai's eyes turned red at the sight. Anger surged inside him.

Of course, that anger wasn't directed at Qi Lin—he knew better than to provoke him.

No, what made him furious was Zhu Zhuqing's attitude. She acted like Dai Mubai owed her a fortune—always cold and distant—yet turned around and smiled at Qi Lin?

What a…

At that moment, Xiao Wu returned from the back of the audience stands and bumped into Zhu Zhuqing.

"Zhuqing, it's your turn next! Go show them what you've got!" Xiao Wu said, pumping her fist to encourage her.

"I will," Zhu Zhuqing replied with a soft smile.

Returning to her seat, Xiao Wu beamed. "Brother Qi Lin, I did pretty well, didn't I?"

"You were great. Your control over soul power is getting smoother and more refined. Looks like you haven't been slacking off at all," Qi Lin said with a smile.

"Of course not!" Xiao Wu pouted proudly.

Then she looked past Qi Lin to Ning Rongrong, who was sitting on his other side. She grinned smugly. "What do you think? I was pretty awesome, right? Are you jealous?"

Ning Rongrong's eyes did flash with envy for a moment, but her mouth remained defiant. "What's there to be jealous about? With Brother Qi Lin teaching me, I'll be just as amazing in no time!"

As she spoke, she wrapped her arms around Qi Lin's arm and leaned into him, pouting coquettishly. "You'll teach me too, won't you?"

"Ahem…" Qi Lin coughed awkwardly, glancing at her strange behavior. She was swaying gently, pressing his arm against her chest.

Soft... and surprisingly comfortable.

Her cheeks were already blushing.

She was making it very clear:

"I'm trying to seduce you."

Though Ning Rongrong's figure wasn't overly voluptuous, her chest was quite well-developed.

Watching this unfold, Xiao Wu's bright eyes widened in disbelief. Her expression seemed to say:

"Oh, so you're playing dirty now?"

Two can play at that game!

Having lived with Qi Lin for nearly six years, Xiao Wu was far more forward. She practically threw herself into Qi Lin's arms.

To outsiders, it looked exactly like:

Qi Lin with a girl on each arm—two beauties fighting for his affection.

Nearby, Dai Mubai and the others couldn't look away. Their eyes were green with envy, wishing they could trade places with Qi Lin on the spot.

Tang San sat with his head slightly lowered, his face hidden.

But his eyes were burning red, and he was breathing heavily.

He couldn't deny it—after six years with Xiao Wu, he had developed feelings for her.

Now, seeing her clinging to Qi Lin so intimately, his heart was twisted in agony.

Meanwhile, Zhu Zhuqing stepped onto the Soul Arena stage.

Her opponent was a Level 26 assault-type Grand Soul Master. Though more experienced than her, they were still easily defeated.

Later, Ma Hongjun and Tang San also had their turn.

Ma Hongjun's opponent was several levels below him, and he won effortlessly.

Tang San, however, wasn't so lucky.

His opponent was a Level 36 assault-type Soul Elder.

Worse still, the opponent had a fire attribute—something that severely countered Tang San's Blue Silver Grass.

Technically speaking, Tang San's Blue Silver Emperor hadn't awakened yet, but it was still leagues ahead of ordinary Blue Silver Grass in terms of toughness and fire resistance.

However, after absorbing three poison-type soul rings, the Blue Silver Grass's core essence had been damaged.

This made it highly vulnerable to fire—easily burned or scorched—and caused Tang San to fall into disadvantage time and again.

Fortunately, Tang San's rich battle experience and mastery of multiple Tang Sect techniques helped him turn the tide.

In the end, he used his Sleeve Dart to knock his opponent off the stage and claim victory.

(External tools were allowed in this kind of battle!)

The audience erupted in deafening cheers for Tang San.

After all, he had defeated an opponent four levels above him.

The Grandmaster was practically glowing with pride as he pointed at Tang San and said to Flender with a laugh:

"This is the disciple trained by me, Yu Xiaogang!"
