Chapter 56 - Chapter 56: Something's Off with My Young Master

"Uzumaki Kaori, huh? It's a really nice name," Minato said with a smile, trying to charm Kaori. "Hi, I'm Minato Namikaze."

Kaze curled his lips and said irritably, "Did she ask your name? What a waste."

Minato: "..."

"I was dissed by Kaze again today. How sad..."

"What's your name?" Kaori's speech was becoming more coherent as she asked in Kaze's ear.

"Me?" Kaze replied.

"Yeah," Kaori nodded.

Kaze curled his lips again. "Just because you ask, I have to tell you? Dream on."

Kaori: "..."

After so many years, she felt the emotion of "so angry" again.

"This way!"

Kaze and Minato raced forward, constantly breaking through towards the outskirts of Kusagakure Village.

From time to time, enemies rushed towards them. Eager to break through the encirclement, they didn't care about conserving chakra anymore and wildly used their skills.

"Fire Release: Blast Wave Wild Dance!"

"Ninjutsu: Many Hidden Shadow Snake Hands!"

Finally, the two broke through the encirclement without any major danger and arrived at the pre - arranged breakthrough point.

"My young master!"

Yuto and the others took the lead to greet them. A dozen Root members cleared the way, making nearly a hundred grass ninjas drop their weapons and flee in disarray.

"You worthless scumbags of Kusagakure Village! Let you know the consequence of offending Konoha!"

"If the Hokage didn't forbid it, a hundred of us from Konoha could raze your village to the ground!"

"Kill! Kill! Kill!"

At this moment, every Root ninja was like possessed by a fierce spirit.

Holding long knives, they charged in and out of the crowd, slashing from one end of the street to the other without even blinking an eye.

However, this was their territory after all. Although they were weak, their numbers were overwhelming!

The grass ninjas were like tenacious weeds. No sooner had you cut one batch down than another would quickly spring up.

After everyone fought for a while, there were still an endless stream of grass ninjas rushing in.

"My young master, go quickly!"

Yuto reluctantly took out a stack of explosive tags and scattered them all without leaving a single one.

"Bad, it's explosive tags!"

The grass ninjas who were closely chasing after them immediately stopped and shouted the classic line.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The soaring fire blocked the grass ninjas' steps. When the explosion stopped, the Root members had already disappeared without a trace.

"Damn it, chase! They can't have gone far!" a young grass ninja roared.

"Stop talking nonsense. We can't even surround and kill them. Now if we go after them in groups, are we just going to offer ourselves as easy targets?" an old grass ninja said.

The young grass ninja roared furiously, "These Konoha hooligans have caused great damage in our village. Are we just going to let them go?!"

The old grass ninja sneered. "Pfft, if you want to chase, go ahead. Anyway, I want to live a few more years."

Saying that, he sheathed his sword and turned around, then returned to the village without hesitation.

"You...!"

The young grass ninja looked around and found that there were quite a few people like the old man, while only a few remained.

"Bah! The older you get, the more of a coward you become!"

A young ninja spat on the ground forcefully, hesitated for a while, and then turned around and left.

"There may still be enemies in the village. Since it's uncertain whether these enemies can catch up, why not go back to search the village?"

In a dense forest ten miles outside Kusagakure Village, five Root squads stopped temporarily.

A Root squad leader glanced at Kaori, then bowed to Kaze and said,

"Squad Leader Kaze, now that the mission is successfully completed, we'll leave first."

Another Root squad leader echoed with a smile. "Yes. Since Squad Leader Kaze is safe and sound, how about we continue to act separately?"

"I plan to hunt down a hundred Kusagakure squads. I'm still far from achieving my goal."

Yefeng Yamanaka looked at Kaze with an inquiring look and asked, "What do you think, Squad Leader Kaze?"

"No problem. You all can leave on your own." Kaze bowed to the four squad leaders and smiled.

"Thanks to everyone's help this time. After we get back, I'll put in a good word for you all in front of my father."

"Don't mention it."

"Squad Leader Kaze, you're being too kind. It's all for Konoha."

"See you later, Squad Leader Kaze."

"Goodbye."

After some polite exchanges, the four Root squad leaders led their squads away.

After Kaze and his companions dealt with the traces left in the forest, they quickly left as well because this place was not safe.

"My young master, who is she?"

Only then did Ayako have time to ask who the girl on Kaze's back was.

"Her? Well," Kaze yawned, looking a bit tired. "She's a single Uzumaki orphan girl named Kaori."

A single orphan girl?

Kaori: "???"

Pfft.

Minato almost burst out laughing. This guy Kaze was really something. How could he describe a girl as "a single orphan girl"?

Minato had been scolded by Kaze before. Now seeing Kaze scolding others, Minato felt a bit maliciously gleeful.

The corners of his mouth kept rising, and he was smiling so brightly.

"Master, you're so kind to Kushina. You always have her on your mind wherever you go." Yuto beside him said with emotion.

Wherever the master went, he always remembered to bring back an Uzumaki clansman for that little girl. Maybe this was love.

Minato: "???"

"The green grasslands on earth need watering (A random meme expression here)"

Minato's smile froze on his face. He turned his head towards Kaze with a look of grief and indignation.

"Kaze?!"

Kaze got startled. He didn't dare to look into Minato's eyes and quickly turned his head to Yuto and said,

"Uncle Yuto, don't stir things up. When have I ever had Kushina on my mind?!"

"I've never had her in my heart. From beginning to end, there's only Minato!"

Kaze said this firmly, and Minato's expression looked much better.

"Really, Kaze?" Minato asked doubtfully.

"Of course it's true. I swear by the Sage of Six Paths!" Kaze promised.

Minato gave Kaze a disdainful look and snorted. "Humph, Better be!"

"This... something's wrong. It's really wrong!"

Ayako couldn't tell if it was herself or her young master and the others who were acting strange.

She quickly grabbed Yuto beside her and whispered to confirm.

"Senior Yuto, don't you think the young master and the others... are a bit strange?"

Yuto stroked his chin, looking confused. "Hasn't the young master always been like this? Where's the strangeness?"

When Ayako heard Yuto's words, her heart sank.

She held out a finger and slowly bent it in front of Yuto.

"Senior Yuto, you don't think the young master... is this, do you?!"

"Haha, where are you letting your thoughts wander, Ayako?" Yuto finally understood what Ayako meant and let out a hearty laugh.

"This is just an act My young master puts on to cover up his lsp nature. You actually believe it?"

"Whether the young master is that way or not, others may not know, but don't you know?" Yuto said suggestively.

"You're right, indeed." Ayako thought for a moment, nodded her little head, and immediately felt relieved.

The young master often played some strange little games with her. How could he be that way?
