Chapter 25 - 25. Mirror Wars

The clone stepped out of the tank — barefoot, breathing, and fully formed.

It looked just like you.

Same face. Same build. Same stance.

But there was no soul behind its eyes.

Just pure, calculated imitation.

Spider-Man cursed under his breath. "That's not just a clone. That thing knows you."

Phantom's voice rang from the walls. "Every movement, every decision you've made since your awakening — it's all been recorded, translated, and weaponized. I've eliminated what made you hesitate."

The clone blurred forward.

You moved to intercept, and the clash felt like slamming into a mirror — perfectly matched speed and strength. It anticipated your attacks, countered your instincts, even copied your adaptation patterns.

[ALERT: Copy Conflict Detected]– Source is mimicking and suppressing the adaptation algorithm.– Performance degradation imminent…

It was you. But unburdened. No fear, no morality, no hesitation.

Just raw potential.

Daredevil flanked the clone and struck hard. The blow knocked it back, but it rolled with the force, landed, and kept coming. Spider-Man webbed it down — but the clone twisted, tearing free in seconds.

"You can't beat it head-on," Daredevil growled. "You have to out-think yourself."

"I am thinking," you muttered, eyes narrowed. "And I just realized something."

Every adaptation you made had limits — pain, focus, fatigue. But what if the key to evolving further wasn't external?

What if it was inside you?

The clone lunged again, a flurry of precision strikes. But this time, you didn't just block — you invited the contact.

Each hit sent a jolt through your body. Every nerve screamed. Your mind surged past the pain. Data flooded in.

And something clicked.

A surge erupted through your core, and the system responded with a chime.

[INNATE TALENT UNLOCKED: Adaptation (Lv.1)]– Core evolutionary trait activated. Enables automatic adjustment to overwhelming threats.– Boosts learning speed, reduces damage from repeated attacks, and improves skill growth exponentially under pressure.

You grinned.

"Round two."
