Alan stood outside the boss combat zone. The boss won't attack as long as you are outside it.
The boss of this dungeon was the huge black treant which stood at 8 meters high. It had a very high defence, which wasn't a problem for Alan.
Another thing to note is that the treant boss was guarded by a 2 tailed wood spirit fox which was also level 6 like the boss.
Alan gazed at his panel he currently had 30 free attribute points on him. He decided to distribute it before facing the boss.
He added 9 points to both agility and spirit and increased it to 100 points. The remaining 12 were divided up between strength and physique attributes.
He wanted to put it all into spirit but it would mess up the balance he had achieved so far.
He looked at the time he had spent nearly 11 minutes so far so he still had 9 minutes to beat the record so far.
He stepped into the area. The boss hadn't noticed him yet so he was cool. Once he arrived close enough to both of them he rushed forward and used the skill heatwave.
It was a special aoe debuff skill which he had learnt specifically for situations like this. Enhanced with his fire mastery the effects were staggering.
Both the boss and the guardian entered a weakened state on top of the negative status burnt which worsened the situation.
He used gale steps and stepped into the air. The special point of this skill is that you could literally step on the air and stay a float. It does consume mana a little so Alan had to end this fast.
So from the air he bombarded the boss and the guardian with his magic arrows imbued with his fire element mana and the wind element mana thanks to the wind element mastery he just gained.
The wind element enhanced the lethality of the fire element in the arrow aside from increasing its speed. It enhanced the damage by a huge margin.
He took down the two tailed fox first. The treant had higher hp than Alan expected but the burn status helped him chip down hp faster.
Treant fell in no time. The timer recording the dungeon clear time stopped as soon as the boss monsters fell.
He got 7500 exp from the boss thanks to cross rank kill and 4500 from the guardian. Thanks to the cross level kill he got a very high amount of exp which boosted him to level 5.
He now needs 2960 more exp to level up.
Alan then checked the loots dropped. The boss dropped wood source liquid which is a rare ingredient sought out by alchemists at a huge price. Apart from being used in alchemy it also had another wonderful use.
After consuming it, the user's physique attribute will be raised to match the highest attribute the user currently has. It is for that reason it rarely gets on the market as the finders tend to keep out for their use.
On top of that its drop rate is so low that it resulted in driving its market price way up. Alan got it thanks to his record dungeon clear time which increased the odds.
Other than that it also dropped 4 free attribute stones and one treant armour which increased the healing power of healer's spells and provided ample defence.
The guardian also dropped 2 free attribute stones which was surprising. It also dropped some other equipment which Alan had no interest in so he decided to sell it later.
Alan took the silver chest from the boss' lair before he stepped into the exit portal which formed not too long ago after he killed the boss.
Alan exited the dungeon only to find a huge crowd outside.
It seemed that this identity as a new SSS recruit was somehow spread and everyone who heard of it came to take a look at him.
Just at this moment the leaderboard got updated and the top place for fastest dungeon clear was replaced by the name Raven. It was obvious that Raven was Alan as the leaderboard updated as soon as he came out.
Everyone was thrown into an uproar.
"Breaking the record on the first dungeon run! That too on solo… this is insane!"
"Is this what it means to be an elite…"
"I'm your fan from now on…."
…..
…..
Alan was speechless. He had not expected any of this when he came out. The crowd was cheering for him and chanting the name Raven.
Alan calmed the crowd down after saying a few things and dispersed them. Them being his new fans dispersed immediately so as not to displease him.
"Having more exposure is not a great thing." Alan sighed.
He then walked to the counter to raid his next dungeon.
Then suddenly a man in black cloak approached him. "Go to the guild main hall. The elders are expecting."
Alan agreed. Wondering what it was. He then suddenly remembered his brother's words. 'but isn't that supposed to be tomorrow'
He then rushed out of the dungeon tower so as to not keep them waiting.
He arrived at the main building within 10 minutes and as he was about to go into the main hall, elder Dimo and elder Vlad came out.
"Good you are here, let's go"
Alan didn't say a word and just followed them.
Vlad took out a huge hover car when they got out. It was one of the latest expensive ones that are produced in limited numbers.
"Once you are powerful enough you will have enough money to purchase as many as such cars as you like…" elder Dimo said.
Alan just gulped seeing the car. It was a heavily armoured behemoth which can withstand anything below tier 3 and last for 40 minutes under the barrage of mid tier 4 monsters. It's used by high level awakeners when they go out to explore the wilderness.
Alan wasted no words and entered. He was excited to know about the unknown affinity he has.
