"Not bad for a start," Yuki noted, hurriedly wiping the sweat from his brow as the screen blinked with new notifications. His LPC balance was rising fast, but it wasn't enough—not yet. He needed to hit that ¥1.4 million mark.
For Aiko!
Yuki didn't stop to catch his breath. As soon as one task ended, another one surfaces each with a chime sound as soon as he completed the mission.

Ding! Ding!
His bank account chimed softly and in a rush, Yuki switched over to the bank app, his cheeks curling into a smile. He had hit the amount, on the dot! On the fucking dot!
¥1,432,375
For the first time in his lifetime, his bank account was reading a million Yen.
A fucking million Yen.
He let out a dry laugh, somewhere between disbelief and hysteria, staggering back into the wall as if the numbers physically hit him. A million. Not in Monopoly money. Not in video game loot. Real currency. Tangible. Withdrawable. Spendable.
He slid down the wall, phone clutched to his chest like it was a sacred relic. He could finally pay his rent early. Pay off the loan sharks breathing down his neck. Replace his off-brand sneakers that flapped when he walked. Hell, he could even buy that obnoxiously overpriced matcha from the café down the street just because he could.
His fingers trembled as he opened the app again, staring at the screen to make sure it wasn't some sort of cosmic prank.
Still there.
He tapped on the "Withdraw" option, shoving his phone into the pocket. He cleaned himself off and left the cubicle.
[2:00pm]
Time had been far spent but it didn't matter anyway. He had the million Yen ready to buy the necklace. Adorned in pride, his shoulders shot high above, Yuki bounced off to the jewel stand where he had seen the Chanel necklace. He grinned, pressing on the bell to call the attendant.
'I will show you who's the poor asshole.' He laughed heavily in his head, pushing his credit card across the counter. "I want that necklace." His index pointed at the one which had caught his eyes previously.
"Excuse me? You again? I thought the security threw you out when you left to the bathroom. Let's hurry up, I have told you the price is ¥1,431,375. That would take you two and a half years. We don't take deposit either so scram you pauper."
"Swipe the card, missy and don't waste my time. My woman is waiting for me."
She chuckled in disbelief, picking up the red and blue lines card from the counter. She swiped it against the paying machine and a loud chime drew her back.
[Payment successful]
[Click to print Receipt]
The air stood still for a beat.
The sales attendant's hand froze mid-air, hovering above the receipt button. Her perfectly manicured brows furrowed deeply, lips parting as if to speak but no words came. She blinked at the screen. Then again.
"No... that's— That's not possible," she muttered, jabbing the machine's side like it was glitching.
Yuki leaned forward slightly, resting one elbow on the glass counter, smug grin spreading like wildfire across his face. "Need me to translate what 'payment successful' means, princess?"
Her eyes shot up to him, stunned. Then back to the screen. Then to the card.
"You're telling me... you—the same guy who came here wearing off-brand sneakers and asked for 'just five minutes to use the bathroom'—paid over a million yen for this necklace?"
Yuki straightened, adjusted his collar like a man who'd just bought out the entire store. "Damn right. And make sure you clean that necklace before boxing it. My girl likes her shine spotless."
The attendant looked down, then back at him, then finally—clicked print. The small white paper curled from the machine with a ring, stamping the payment successful wordings in ink.
She handed him the necklace box with shaking hands, her previous arrogance buried beneath layers of disbelief. "T-Thank you for shopping with us, sir... Please visit again."
Yuki smirked, taking the box and slipping the receipt into his pocket.
He turned on his heel, striding confidently toward the exit like a man born into wealth.
As he reached the glass doors, he paused, glanced over his shoulder, and said loud enough for the whole store to hear:
"Next time, don't judge a millionaire by his sneakers."
*********
"I have never felt so blessed in my life! Could this be Buddha sending me blessing through a slutty game?" Yuki's hands was held tight on his slingshot bag which he bought not so long ago.
Taking deep breaths, he paused in front of the blue door on the left, next to the silver rail. He read what was written on the topmost part.
[Professor Aiko Tanaka]
[Department of Computer Science]
He opened his mouth, air filling in to give him this slight confidence. He knocked once and silence met him briefly. It didn't take too long for Aiko to answer the door. "Come in,"
Her tiny sweet voice welcomed him and hesitant, Yuki turned the knob and stepped inside, only to pause halfway, caught completely off guard with what Aiko was wearing.
A strapless multicolored ankle-length gown.
From her neck to her shoulders was left bare, her cleave a bit covered by her let down black silky hair. She had a lazy scowl on her face while she flipped through the reports on her table. And that, sleek thin eyeglass on her face just gave her a techy vibe.
"Oh, Yuki? I didn't expect you to be the one." Aiko wanted to reach out to her jacket on the brown couch behind her but she didn't bother. There was no need, he had seen her naked, and slapped her ass. "Your name wasn't on today's online attendance. You are skipping my classes, Yuki Mori. Or are you avoiding me?"
Her breath hitched, more of concern. Yuki swallowed, hard. His eyes flicked to the floor, then back to her—slowly, like if he looked too fast, he might combust."Nah, I'm not avoiding you," he muttered, stuttering on his word until he could get it out of his mouth.
He tugged the strap of his sling bag nervously, watching Aiko continue her work with a blush forming on her face.
"When you stutter you sound cute." Aiko commented, and Yuki's ears tinged. His face went from confident to a shy teenage boy confessing his love to his high school crush. From his nose to his cheeks and ears all went crimson red. "I'm just kidding. Have your seat." She scrambled some clothes and paperwork off the couch and patted it with a welcoming smile.
"Oh," Yuki answered embarrassed. Yuki moved stiffly, like he'd forgotten how his legs worked, and dropped onto the couch. The sling bag slumped to his side as he cleared his throat awkwardly.
Aiko returned to her desk, picking up a pen and lazily twirling it between her fingers, but her eyes flicked back to him now and then.
"So," Aiko started, swinging her chair to face Yuki, the soft squeak of the leather filling the quiet office. As she shifted, one leg crossed neatly over the other, the slit in her ankle-length gown parted just enough to show a teasing stretch of thigh.
Her gown hugged her figure in a way that was both subtle and impossible to ignore. The neckline dipped low, just modest enough to hint without revealing so much. She had taken off her shoes—he noticed the black heels by the couch and wore on a soft slippers.
The way she seated was a one view snapshot of her boobs. "How is it going with you tech project. I'm expecting a lot from you, Yuki. If course, you are the star student of my class and the department itself. It would be a shame if..."
"I wouldn't let you down, ma'am."
"Ma'am?" Aiko shifted in her chairs, tucking her hair behind her ears to reveal the diamond earrings in her multiple piercings. "You can call me Aiko. We've passed that stage." Her left leg came down and she stood up from the chair, approaching Yuki who was on the couch. "The door is locked though. Do you want us to finish from where we started on Saturday."
"Ye—ss"
I'd be damned a fool if I let another opportunity to be in the arms of my sexy professor slip off!
