"The heck is that!" Ash screamed as he fell, his blood rising, his breathing heavy as he gazed upon the pokemon in front of him.
It was unlike any pokemon he has seen before, No varient could match it nor could any existing pokemon that he knew of despite his obsession.
However, the bird pokemon didn't have any pity nor hesitation as it dived deeper towards Ash, striking him with it's wings before driving it's claws into his shoulder.
Ash groaned, his shoulder was being ripped apart by the claw as the bird tried to strike at his face with its saber like beak.
Suddenly he heard a ding sound as a panel appeared in front of him as Ash found both himself and the pokemon suspended in mid-air as if frozen in time.

[==========================]
[ Pokemon: Aerofol]
[ Type: Flying ground]
[ Abilities: sharp claws, gale wing, ???(Hidden, data unavailable)
[ Information available: Extremely territorial pokemon found in the neutral regions, known for their ability to dive so fast that they rip through steel.]
"A flying, ground type? How the heck am i supposed to survive this?" Ash grumbled, his body frozen in mid-air but his mind worked just fine which he concluded to be one of the system's perks.
He tried to find a way to survive, like trying to calculate the attack patterns or the body structure of the Aerofol but neither him nor the original Ash were good at maths or physics.
Suddenly he felt himself move, it was slow, very slow but each accelerated with each passing second and he understood that the protection period was over.
Time continues again, the bird and Ash both returning to normal as Ash moved his head, dodging a peak from the bird, dangling as he grabbed aerofol's foot and pulled away his chest from the claws only to begin falling again.
*******
-Few minutes earlier, down below in the mountain range-
"I feel a disturbance. something has come." A old man said as he sat on a mat, he looked very old but his body was bulging muscles giant wooden beads hung around his neck and fists as he slowly turned towards the skies, "But it's not a enemy."
Several young monk stood up as they looked at their teacher slowly opening his eyes, their gaze filled with admiration as they bow to him before moving to their training again.
A slightly middle-aged monk of a smaller and weaker frame came, his beard coming near his neck in length as he greets the old monk and looked at the skies above.
"What should we do then grandmaster? We don't know if it is a spy from one of the regions," He said, "there is a chance it is-"
The old man raised his hand, gesturing to the other monk to say no more as he raises his hand and looked at the sky, his eyes igniting into a purple light as his partners, a hisuian Braviary and girafarig.
"He is no spy... The only thing I see is a pathless hero who had fallen to fate." The old man said calmly, his hands rolling the beads as he the old man leapt.
His jump was high, very high, enough to reach the second floor of a building which seemed unnatural for a human but he was no mere old man.
The Braviary followed him, instantly arriving beneath his feet as it grew over twice it's size in a instant and let out a screech that sent a shockwave down the area and soared to the skies where a wide crack was opening up in space.
The old monk sat down, one hand raised in front as he prayed to Arceus and the Overseer of humans, "I hope I make it in time." He whispered to himself as the Braviary sped up towards the skies.
-Flashback ends-
*********
Ash struggled, tilting his body every now and then to avoid the sharp claws and beak of the Aerofol as he barely escaped by a hair's breadth each time.
However with each escape, the Aerofol grew more annoyed and furious as it finally decided to ramp up it's strength, no longer carrying about eating Ash as food.
It retracted it's wings, reducing its surface area as streched it's body and dived straight down with its beak shining in a silvery colour and pointed straight at Ash who couldn't do anything but panic.
He watches as it came closer, growing in his vision every mini-second until was right in front of him, about to pierce through his chest.
Screech
A loud voice echoes as Ash felt himself suddenly come to a stop and then dragged upwards right towards the Aerofol, turn in mid-air and evade the attack as he felt himself being grabbed by something.
Confused and clueless, he turns his head expecting to see gates of the afterlife, only to be greeted by wide smile of the monk who chuckles while looking down on th child in his arms.
"A child? I was expecting a some young man but I guess this works better for me," The monk said with a smile as lifted Ash closer to his face, "How about you become my student boy?"
"Eh?" , Ash's underdeveloped brain couldn't handle the situation He was in and entered a shut down mode as finally went unconscious in the old man's arms.
The old monk looked at him, his expression mixed between amusement and shock as he shook Ash like old TV remote but to no success as he didn't bother dealing with it and tossed him onto the Braviary's back.
"Now then, Shall we have toasted Aerofol meat for dinner?" The old man asked his partner only to recieve a screech of approval and lunged onto the Aerofol with his palms raised.
On the other hand, the Aerofol didn't even understand how it missed and turned upwards only to be met by a palm coming right at his face that instantly snapped it's neck before it could even see the attacker's face.
The old man laughed as he fell, his inner child resurfacing as he felt the winds brush past his muscles and soon landed on the Braviary that managed to appear beneath him again with the Aerofol hanging between it's legs.
"Let's go down, the brats will start creating chaos if I don't go back fast."
The Braviary nods, it's wings contracting as dived towards the mountains below, only to spread them again as they closed in on the ground and pulled back last second to avoid to crash.
*******
Ash slowly opened his eyes, his nose twitching as he smelled the aroma of food for first time after his rebirth and tried to move towards it in his half-asleep state.
He crashed against something solid, his head recoiling from pain as he was woken up from his stupor and back to reality.
He found himself in a room, a normal room of mountain village but there were things that he felt were extremely out of place for the environment he was in.
"Are they playing... Video games?" This question found it's way to his lips as he saw a bunch of children that looked around 7 or maybe 8 lining up near a console with a minun and a plusle powering up the place.
"So you finally woke up?"
A wise voice came from the side, it belonged to a bald man with abra on his shoulder that looked down at Ash from the side with a bowl in his hand.
The man came closer, put the bowl on a plate, sat across Ash and helped him back onto the bed while handing him a spoon.
" My name is Arigon but you may call me Master Arig." The old man said, the abra on his shoulder waving at Ash before it teleported in front of him and handed the bowl straight to Ash.
"What is this place? I only remember falling down as some bird pokemon attacked me." Ash said, his voice hinting at Caution but he still gratefully devoured the soup with pleasure.
"You are at the monestry of Avelum, a place inside the wild lands, many regions away from Unova." , Arig smiled at Ash and handed him a small map that showed his location and distance from Unova, " You are fortunate the grandmaster of this place saved you from the fall or else you would be pancake on the ground days ago."
"Days!? I was knocked out for da-" Ash chocked on his words in bafflement, almost falling down from the bed again, only stopping last second thanks to Abra's help.
"3 days, for 3 days we have been taking care of you. You won't understand how stunned we were when you came here as thin as a bone."
Ash was flabber-gasted by the statement, quickly he turned his head to look at himself. His injuries were bandaged, his frame slightly better than his time during the lab and especially the weakness in his body was gone.
'I am... Free.' the thought took over his logic as tears begin dripping down his pale cheeks, he smiled with all his might, finally free from all the torture he had experienced for years.
" Oh, I almost forgot to ask this but what is your name?" Arig asked as he petted Ash's head lightly and gave a napkin.
"Ash.. Ash Ketchum."
Suddenly the room went silent as every single children and pokemon turned their heads towards Ash, their gazes like a abyss, that looks to be piercing down to Ash's very soul.
Arig placed his hand on Ash's shoulder, his whole vibrating for some reason Ash didn't know as the monk came closer and grabbed his hands.
" Are you related to Red?" Everyone asked him, their eyes filled with anticipation and now Ash understood the reaction from the them.
He came to realisation, he had traversed from the pokemon anime world to the pokemon game universe.
