Chapter 15 - Lauren the Barbie.

Bethany's Pov.

"Hi, Boys. I'm back." Barbie said and I could literally feel my heart crack in my thoracic cavity.

Boys??!

I turned to the 'boys' to check if I was missing something and with the way they looked, I was. And it wasn't a small one.

I couldn't help but feel itchy. Not itchy itchy, but my body itched to disappear from the room immediately.

Like Tristan could sense my discomfort, his softly tapped my thigh, willing me to look at him, which I did. Hesitantly.

He nodded softly, asif telling me to relax, which I was trying to do before Barbie interrupted again.

"Who is this beauty?" She asked, taking light steps towards me, her heels clicking softly on the tiles.

"Hi, I'm Lauren." She said, stretching her manicured fingers towards forward.

I had planned to return it, but Maria was pacing angrily in my mind, filled with unbridled jealousy, so I kept my hands in place, pretty sure they were gonna turn to claws as soon as I make contact with her.

"Mmm.." Barbie sighed, withdrawing her hand to her side, sizing me up.

The itching wasn't letting up.

"Well, you could atleast tell me your name. You did not have to be rude." She snapped, her tinted cheeks showed her embarrassment or probably anger, I really couldn't give a flying fuck.

The bitch was testing me seriously.

"Rude?!" I snapped. She was shocked visibly but put it away almost immediately. "You are the one who barged into this place and I'm the one who's rude?" I said with a sarcastic chuckle.

"Bitch. You must have lost it somewhere in that elevator." I ignored her reddened angry face, and turned to face Tristan, taking his palm off my thigh.

I need space.

"How dare you speak to me in that tone?! Do you know who I am?!" She squeaked, but I chose to ignore her and the anger bubbling in my chest.

"Are you guys going to address her or do you need privacy?!" I said, turning to the 'her boys'.

"Get out, Lauren." Tristan said in a low tone, his voice normal but his eyes held all the coldness.

"What do you mean get out?!" She asked in shock. "Is it because of her? You guys think she can replace me? Really?! Have you seen how scrawny she looks?" She squeaked, her hands pointed at me.

"Scrawny?!" I retorted immediately, my eyebrows flying to my hairline.

In seconds, Tristan was before her, his hand around her neck, not enough to kill her immediately, but she with the way she clawed on his hand, she was running out of oxygen, fast.

"You do not disrespect me. I believe you are smarter than that." His voice was smooth, but his words held so much weight, it was suffocating.

I could feel the anger and resentment radiating from Troy and Theo, despite how bad mine was.

I wanted to glance at them but didn't.

Whatever they had with this girl, I deserved to know as soon as possible.

"I'm sorry." She managed to whisper before she was released roughly.

Without being needed to be told twice, she scrambled out of the room, leaving her shiny box behind.

Looking away from the scene, I took out my phone from my purse, quickly opening a game I always play whenever I'm at the verge of popping in anger.

Tristan walked quietly to his seat. I could feel their faces on me now. I could sense their confusion and nervousness but totally ignored it. Nothing was more important to me at that moment than beating my past record.

So I continued playing my game. Furiously.

"Beth." Troy called softly. "Baby, please look up."

"Not interested." I said plainly, trying to push the damn anger out of my chest.

"Bethany." Theo said this time.

"What is it?" I asked looking up in exasperation. "You guys fucked her, right?" I asked without thinking, already cursing myself in my mind for pushing.

We were just mates. I wasn't in love with them. Hell, I had just accepted them in less than an hour and yet there I was, feeling possesive.

It was crazy!.

"She was our..partner, for a while." Theo explained.

"Okay." I said, my eyes back to my game. Now I wasn't just trying to put down the anger, I needed to put my possessiveness in check aswell.

"Bethany.." Tristan started, but I interrupted.

"I need air." I said. Not waiting for their replies, I pushed my chair back, my legs taking me out the door on their own.

I made a hasty beeline to a balcony I had noticed during the brief tour. Luckily the heavy glass doors were unlocked, so I slipped through, the cold wind hitting my skin as soon as I did.

Taking careful steps, my heels clicked on the marble tiles that shone brightly under the moon light, as I got closer to the railing.

The balcony was massive, but I was more focused on getting as much fresh air in my lungs, breathing out the toxic one I had inhaled while in that room and my heart felt..lighter.

"Get your shit together, Beth." I whispered to myself. "It's okay to be mad. They are your mates. But it's not completely okay because they didn't know you as at that time. So they really do not owe you an apology."

Truth was, it wasn't the fact that they had an ex-partner that hurt so much; it was the fact that they couldn't say anything when she came in, they just stared, with fingers fisted , eyes glaring but lips completely sealed!.

They could have ordered her to leave, to disappear and never return with their Alpha voices, but they didn't. They left her to get insulted and..they..they watched.

I felt a tear roll down my cheek, causing me to bubble in laughter.

This shit must be driving me absolutely crazy. I'd just accepted them for Christ sake.

Sighing, I leaned on the railing in exhaustion, relishing how cold the metal railing was against my skin. It felt good to be away from all the seriousness.

"I really don't know what went on between you guys, but I really hope it was worth leaving me out there to dry." I whispered lowly as more tears poured down my chin.
