Chapter 2 - Chapter 2- The Wu Clan

I stood before the mirror, now dressed in elegant black robes embroidered with silver thread. A small black crown adorned my head, fixed just above my tied-back ponytail. My shoes matched—sleek and dark as the night. The figure in the mirror looked sharp, noble, and dangerous.

With a calm, composed air, I stepped out of the room.

"Let's see who my fiancée is," I said with a smirk.

A guard bowed respectfully as I exited.

"Young Master, please follow me. The Madam is waiting."

I nodded and followed him through long, jade-tiled corridors, adorned with floating lanterns and mystical runes glowing faintly on the walls. Eventually, we reached a grand hall.

As I stepped inside, a translucent screen appeared in front of me:

---

Name: Wu Yun

Cultivation: King Immortal - 2nd Layer

Age: 253

Lifespan: 38,000 Years

[Description]: Mother of Wu Tangge. First wife of the Wu King. She is aware of your identity as the successor of the Evil God.

---

Just as the screen vanished, a graceful woman in regal black robes rushed forward and embraced me tightly.

"Oh, my son! You were unconscious for an entire day. What happened to you?" she asked with concern in her voice.

"Mother… I can't breathe," I choked out.

"Oh, sorry!" She quickly released me, laughing softly before her eyes sharpened with seriousness. She dismissed the guard with a slight wave. He bowed and left the room.

Without another word, she took my hand and led me deeper into the estate. Behind an illusion wall, hidden beneath a protective array, lay a secret chamber glowing with ancient runes.

Once inside, she turned to me with a calm, knowing gaze. "Did something happen with your… Evil powers?"

So she does know.

"No, Mother. Nothing unusual," I replied quickly.

But inside, my thoughts churned. So my mother knows I'm the Evil God's successor. Does Father know too?

Wu Yun laughed and patted my shoulder. "That's my boy. But be cautious when you go to meet Yun Ling'er."

"Ah, so her name is Yun Ling'er," I repeated absentmindedly.

Smack!

"Ow!" I rubbed my head where she had slapped me.

"Don't tell me you forgot your fiancée's name!" she scolded.

I forced a sheepish smile. "Hahaha… Sorry. I lost a few memories when I was unconscious."

Strange, I thought. I should have inherited all of Wu Tangge's memories. Why is hers missing?

"Now go," she said, her tone softening. "And be careful. Yun Ling'er is not an ordinary girl."

"I understand."

Leaving the secret chamber, I stepped back into the hallway just as the guard reappeared.

"Young Master, you've returned."

"Yes. Lead the way."

We walked through the estate until we reached the landing platform. Before me stood a majestic flying boat, so massive it cast a shadow across the courtyard. Gleaming runes lined its hull, and a dragon-head figurehead roared silently into the wind.

This was no mere transport. This was a royal vessel.

I stepped aboard. Another guard greeted me with a bow. "Young Master, please follow me. Your private chamber is ready."

He led me to a luxurious room with a panoramic view of the entire flying boat. Silken cushions, spirit jade decor, and the scent of spiritual incense filled the air.

"This is good. You may go," I said.

He bowed and left.

I walked to the window, watching as the flying boat began to rise, humming with spiritual energy. The great gates of the Wu Clan opened below, revealing a floating world in the sky.

Clouds parted to reveal an awe-inspiring sight—my clan, suspended in the heavens, built atop floating mountains linked by golden bridges. Waterfalls spilled into the clouds. Disciples flew between pavilions on swords and beasts. Ordinary citizens lived peaceful lives in the outer ring of the clan's domain.

I rested my hand on the glass. "So… this is my clan. The strongest in the Immortal Realm. A realm where I, the villain, must now walk carefully."

And below, far away in another floating region, a young girl with black hair and burning hatred in her heart waited—unaware that fate had turned the wheel once more.
