[Rin's POV.]
I managed to sleep, hardly. the next morning i woke up, even more sore, i look down to my right, kael is doing pushups. PUSHUPS. how does he even stand up in that state my mind will never comprehend.
"dude.... your doing PUSHUPS? after last night? the hell?" i said, more shocked then when i created ice.
kael chuckled. still doing pushups, he seemed confident. "im just that guy yknow?"
"sure..." i said, standing up from my bed, going to the washroom to clean up. around half an hour later, me and kael were doing some basic exercises. i was doing jumping jacks, i was too sore for pushups. kael was full on training, burpees, i didn't understand his anatomy, someone knocked on the door, then opened it, it was miss ena with two plates. and meat sandwiches on them, i quickly went to the door and held both plates.
"kael never stops exercising does he?" Miss ena said while looking at kael from behind me as i chuckled, kael too focused on his burpees.
"yeah, trainaholic. but thank you for the meal!" i said, nodding.
Miss ena nodded back, leaving and closing the door behind her. as i put kaels plate on his bed while i sat down on my bed, eating the sandwiches.
"eat your food then we gotta go school, we can train after" i said with my mouth full as kael continued his burpees.
"we cant train, not today, kaito and sae are coming back, you didnt know?" kael said, standing up, slightly sweaty and looking at me curiously.
"huh?- no? no one told me" i say, surprised. unfortunate but whatever.
"dang your clueless. anywho this is good" kael said while taking a bite of the meat sandwiches. as i chuckled.
around 9 hours later, we had gone to school, and now leaving. i excelled at it, kael... not so much. but kaito and sae were about to arrive in like 5 minutes, school schedule was really bad for this occasion, so we had to run. we were fast since like, we're them and naturally talented as hell, but i definitely felt faster since last nights intense training. as in 2-3 minutes we arrived at the gate of Velmaris. it wasnt that far from the school, there were a few guards waiting for Sae and Kaito's arrival, the guards knew who we were, younger siblings of Meika, so of course they weren't gonna stop us. anyways, we all saw two figures, with horses. though they weren't riding on the horses. as they got closer, it was sae and kaito, with bags and backpacks of stuff on the horses, walking besides the horses. as they entered, sae glanced at us, kaito smirked. we weren't going to meet them now, it was a bad time. they did seem tired though.
Around 15 minutes later everyone arrived at the ADC Headquarters.
"ughh now its gonna take an hour for their entire interrogation and checking through all that stuff" kael said, impatient. though i couldn't agree more.
"yeah... but they have too, you cant just like transfer memory." i said, sitting down on a bench nearby outside.
A few hours later, me and kael were talking about what they could have experienced while on their mission, finally, the door opened. we both stood up and walked towards them.
"cmon! lets go to a restaurant and you guys can tell us what happened over food!" kael said excitedly. i nodded in agreement, as kaito chuckled while sae sighed and smiled lightly.
"alright, foods on me. cmon ill explain a little on the way." kaito said, patting our backs, as we started to walk.
"you two remember the different classes of demons right? or did you forget?" Sae asked us before kaito could explain what happened.
"i do!" i said before kael could.
"i... dont-" kael said, ofcourse he didnt. he never read about classes, he just knew they existed.
Sae sighed. "Alright, ill explain. listen closely because i wont repeat myself, There are 6 classes, ill be ranking them from weakest to strongest. a husk class demon, their weak, slightly below Ignite level hunters they mostly travel in groups, no magic ability and no smarts. just raw strength which is relatively weak. then Weaver class demons, they, well weave, or dodge. their fast, agile but weak and not that durable, sharp claws which can cut through skin, between kindlewing and firecrest level. Then mindflame class demons, they mess with your mind, and control emotions, you need a strong mental fortitude to counter them, with their abilities, their Firecrest level, some go up to ashborne, but without their abilities, they are Ignite level. then Dreadmaw class demons, their tall, atleast a few meters. insane amount of durability, mid-ashborne level strength and armor, but relatively slow, so id rank them at high firecrest level or low ashborne. then Wraithborne class demons, high ashborne to low solstice level, they are fast, strong, and smart, smart enough to say words, just a few english words. most have an ability to manipulate elements using nyth, like hunters. then the ones i despise, Archfiends, high solstice level, never encountered one, but the reason we know about them is because of the murmur slates 2 solstices took with them. I'm not gonna get into the details though. from what we know, they can speak basic english. and control multiple elements with full mastery. stronger and faster then solstices. these are all the classes. but archfiends have only one known encounter, so that information isn't much of use." Sae said, i already knew all this, but kael looked like he was actually listening, which was rare, but he loved this topic so not a surprise.
"alrighty, now ill tell you what i can tell you, im not allowed to say some things y'know, but me and sae went towards Ul'Morrak, one of the Demon Kingdoms, dont tell anyone yeah, its very secret, but we went to investigate and scout. on the way, we actually encountered what seemed like a scout tower, or fortress for demons. we prepared to fight and went in, turns out, its fulllllll of weaver class demons, easy to kill for us, a few dozen, we kill them all, but there's this ominous ass tent, its very big, something comes out, its a Dreadmaw class demon, i was expecting something more, but okay, me and sae do rock paper scissors, she wins so she can 'fight' it, but ofcourse shes a solstice, so like oneshot kills the dreadmaw, we loot the place, some more things happen that i cant disclose to you yet" kaito said while we walked to a restaurant.
"...thats it?" i said, as kael nodded slightly in agreement. kaito sighed, while sae raised her eyebrow.
"your saying that as if you could kill an dreadmaw." sae said, arms crossed.
"no i didnt mean it like that, it was just so short, we havent even gotten to the restaurant-" i said, trying to explain myself without being rude.
"so we cant hang out, i see how it is, we're just knowledge tools huh" Sae said, being overdramatic.
i continued explaining myself to sae, while kael and kaito talked separately.
We had arrived to the restaurant, ordered and eaten, all in 2 hours. it was 11 p.m, but it wasn't a school night so me and kael could actually stay awake for a little. we were now just walking around the city.
"say... if you and kaito trained us in secret... it would be wonderful right?" kael said to sae, before she or kaito could reply, i budged in.
"yeah it'd be wonderful, we could DEFEND ourselves, HELP other people, and sooooooooo many other things" i say, highlighting the good things, as sae sighs, looking towards kaito, who was purposely looking away and whistling to himself.
"No. not until meika-" sae says, as kael interrupted her.
"pleaseeeeeeee just train us, what if we're like the super cool and strong prodigies! we could maybe gather more information about demons!" kael said. pleading to sae.
Sae took a deep breath, thinking for a moment, maybe a moment or two.
"fine, but under my conditions. if you get caught, i never allowed you to do this and always said no, and second. you never, and i mean never train without me or kaito till either of us say so, and third, ill choose what you train about and with. got it?" Sae said, it was obvious she was reluctant, but she knew us for years, maybe i would shut up about it, but not kael. he would never, so she knew there was no stopping him.
"yes! okay, that works! when we starting?" kael said, already impatient.
"well im free tomorrow... so we'll train tomorrow, at 8 in the morning, so go home and sleep. meet me at the restaurant we ate at today. bring water and food for all four of us, ill take care of the practice weapons." Sae said, still reluctant. as i nodded, so did kael. without even saying goodbye, we both ran to the Sorin Dormitory to go to sleep.
