Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

"Agent Coulson! Stop him!!!"

Just as Fury's chin was gripped again by Kurohane, he frantically called out Coulson's name, who was standing behind! "You know what happened back then! Quickly help me explain! This room is specially prepared for situations like this; no one can know what happens inside! Don't worry about information leaks, quickly explain to this guy!"

As soon as Fury finished speaking, Kurohane's sharp gaze immediately shifted towards Coulson! Coulson felt a little awkward at that moment. He and Fury had handled that matter together in the past. Now only Fury was suffering... to be honest, he felt a little happy!

"Kurohane, don't be so quick to anger. After all, everything has already happened. Even if you kill both of us, it won't help! Why don't you listen to our explanation first?" Coulson cautiously tried to soothe Kurohane's emotions. After all, this situation was indeed very frustrating to think about. The arrival of the aliens was also one of the reasons Fury wanted to form the Avengers team, to serve as Earth's 'nuclear deterrent' and prevent the aliens from coveting this planet!

Clang!

Kurohane threw the pliers in his hand to the floor roughly, looking extremely frustrated. "Chief, please speak."

Next, Coulson recounted the plot of the first Captain Marvel movie to Kurohane. Kurohane pretended it was the first time he had heard it, trying hard to keep his facial expression from betraying a laugh. Coulson also took the opportunity to explain the existence of the 'misappropriated' funds to Kurohane, mentioning the construction of the Helicarrier. The goal was to enhance Earth's defense capabilities, and some of the technology did indeed come from the Skrulls. So, the alliance between S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Skrulls wasn't actually harmful; on the contrary, it helped Earth develop rapidly!

After Coulson finished explaining his 'plot', Kurohane took out his S.H.I.E.L.D. ID card from his pocket. Then, he threw the card towards Fury, coldly dropping the sentence, "Starting today, I am no longer a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. You have disappointed me too much." Then he turned and left, leaving only the sight of his retreating back for Coulson and Fury.

"Kurohane!" Coulson watched Kurohane walk away slowly, feeling a little reluctant and unconsciously calling his name. However, Kurohane acted as if he didn't hear, continuing to walk out of the interrogation room. Coulson had no choice but to turn around and release all of Fury's restraints. Helping him up from the chair, he let out a long sigh. "Director, we were wrong about this matter."

"Do you still have time to care about that little bastard?! You should be calling an ambulance for me right now!" Fury growled, shaking his broken fingers in front of Coulson's face.

"You secretly underwent body modifications, so you don't need me to call an ambulance for such minor injuries!" Coulson replied coldly, then turned and left, leaving Fury with the sight of his back as well. He was also a little angry at that moment. If Fury could hide his body modifications from him, then he must have hidden other things as well. As his most trusted subordinate, he had been kept in the dark. Of course, he felt a little resentful inside!

"Damn it! How could that kid Kurohane mislead you too?! Get back here!" Fury roared in frustration.

...

When Kurohane left the interrogation room with a frozen, cold face, no one dared to approach and ask questions. After all, this savage had just captured their Director, and they had all seen the Director's terrifyingly bent fingers. Now Kurohane's face looked extremely bad; anyone who approached him would most likely get punched! So, the people in the secret base instinctively avoided Kurohane's gaze, which gave Kurohane an opportunity to act. He casually placed the metal button Tony had given him on the main computer, then casually walked out of the secret base. He hailed a taxi and went straight to Tony's villa.

Sitting in the taxi, Kurohane looked out the window, constantly replaying his performance just now. The corners of his mouth couldn't stop curving upwards; he felt he deserved a small golden statue for himself! By creating such a commotion, he had left a perfect impression on Fury and Coulson. Their dispatching him to the Middle East clearly showed that they suspected his identity.

He wasn't worried about Hydra's methods of forging documents, but when he voluntarily put down his badge and left S.H.I.E.L.D., all suspicions would definitely vanish just like that. All he needed to do now was mend his relationship with Tony. When Iron Man appeared, Fury would definitely realize that he, this resigned agent, was actually Tony's best friend. At that time, in order for Tony to work for S.H.I.E.L.D., Fury would definitely come knocking on his door! Moreover, the terrifying shooting skills he had displayed were enough to make him an Avengers candidate. A mere Fury, wasn't he just being played in his hands!

He watched the traffic outside the window and the gradually fading signs until a familiar symbol appeared in front of his eyes.

Kurohane: (Eyebrows raised, slightly surprised)

Was that the symbol of the New York Sanctum just now? he wondered. He hadn't obtained any magic talents yet, so now wasn't the right time to disturb the Ancient One. When he obtained abilities like Telepathy or the Phoenix Force, abilities from the Magic Department, only then would he visit that strongest person on Earth. He believed Master Ancient One wouldn't refuse a talented student! But for now, he had to resolve his issues with Tony first!

Before the car even arrived at Tony's villa, Kurohane's phone rang. Seeing the incoming number, he felt a little tired! It had been less than twenty minutes since he had 'resigned' from Nick, and a call from the Hydra leader had already arrived. He could only sigh that Marvel fans had a reason to call S.H.I.E.L.D. 'Snake-Shield'. Indeed, the nickname was spot on! What made Kurohane sigh even more was that S.H.I.E.L.D. could still function even after being infiltrated by so many people. That black Nick Fury did have some tricks up his sleeve!

"Hello, this is Kurohane... Yes, I did it... This is part of the plan. Your rank is too low, and you don't have the authority to know this plan. If you don't want to be silenced, you'd better stop these useless questions. Or you can contact Chief Alexander Pierce directly. Goodbye," Kurohane hung up directly after speaking. Using other people's influence didn't give him any psychological pressure at all. Ever since he became Nick Fury's bodyguard, Alexander Pierce had been his only point of contact.

Alexander Pierce, as the highest-ranking Hydra member in S.H.I.E.L.D., was the one who promoted Nick Fury. Initially, he wanted to recruit Nick Fury into Hydra, but he realized that Nick was quite capable. Ever since becoming Director, Nick had always managed to obtain funds from unexpected sources. Moreover, most of the funds he obtained were actually used for Hydra members! When Hydra wanted to cover up mistakes, they could simply make Nick Fury the scapegoat. He was the Director! If he wasn't to blame, then who else?!
