Chapter 4 - Episode 4:"Crack In The Cage"

Scene 1: "Maya'sroom - Secondbefore escape"

Maya stands near the door, her breath shaky but determined.

Maya (thinking):

He's not in the mansion. This is it. My one chance.

She slowly backs away from the door, her eyes scanning the room like a hunter calculating her next move.

She listens. The hallway is quite. The guard's shadow moves away.

Maya(Thinking):

Now. OneOpening. Onechance.

Close-up: Her lips tighten. Her eyes spark with quiet fire.

She quickly removes a metal piece from the under bed - a broken leg from a chair she disassembled in the secret the night before.

Maya grip the metal rode tight. Her breath is steady. Controlled.

She moves fast - Slams the rode into the door latch. It pops. She yanks the door open.

Scene: Hallway - continuous

She sprints.

Fast. Barefoot. Focused.

A guard shouts_ "She'sOut!"

ALARMS BLAST. Red Lights flash. Sirens scream.

Maya (thinking): Run. Just run.

Guards rush into the corridor.

She ducks low, slides behind a column as bullets rip through the air - not aimed to kill, but to stop.

She hurls the rod like a spear - it crashes into a guard's shoulder. He goes down.

She vaults over him, panting, sprinting harder. Wind from the open corridor whips her hair.

She's almost there.

Exit in sight. Door ahead. Just one more step-

A voice, low and lethal, cut through the silence.

"Going somewhere?"

---

She froze.

Out of nowhere, Caleb emerged from the shadows, tall and terrifying, his figure bathed in the dim hallway light. He wasn't just standing there—he was owning the space.

Towering. Lethal. Unbelievably stunning. The hallway light caught the edge of his jawline, sharp like a blade. His black dress shirt clung to his chest, the cuffs folded back, veins visible along his forearms. His dark overcoat shifted as he stepped forward, commanding every inch of the space like a king in his kingdom.

But his eyes— His eyes were pure mafia. Cold. Focused. Unforgiving. Yet beneath the ice—something darker burned.

Maya staggered back.

He wasn't supposed to be here. He was gone. Out. She had a chance.

But now—

He stood before her like a storm she couldn't outrun.

Maya's breath hitched the moment her eyes landed on him.

--

Maya (whispering): "You… You weren't—"

She ran. Without thinking, Maya bolted toward the exit. Her bare feet slapped against the marble, heart pounding like a war drum. She could feel freedom in her reach—until a strong hand clamped around her wrist mid-sprint.

"No," he said, voice low and final.

She turned sharply, using her other arm to strike him—wild, desperate.

He dodged. Effortlessly.

She kicked, twisted, shoved him with all the rage burning inside her. But every movement, every attempt to break free, was neutralized—not with violence, but with precise, controlled power. Caleb didn't strike back. He didn't even raise his voice.

He just… contained her.

And then, in one swift motion, he pulled her to him, twisting her arms behind her back—not to hurt, but to stop. His grip locked her in place, her chest heaving against his as they stood impossibly close. Her body wriggled, but he didn't flinch.

Maya (struggling): "Let me go!"

Caleb (low, intense): "Stop running. You're only going to get hurt."

Maya (furious):

She pulls harder, but Caleb pulls her toward him. Closer. Until there's no space left between them.

His voice is quiet now.

Maya: "You think you can lock me up like a damn prisoner and I'll just accept it?" she snapped, her voice low but burning.

Caleb: "You tried to run. What did you expect, Maya?" he growled back, his voice like gravel and silk.

Their faces were inches apart.

Maya: "I expected you to be gone—like they said you were! What are you, Caleb? A ghost?"

"No," he murmured. "I'm the shadow that never leaves"

His grip loosened, but he didn't step back. Instead, he stared down into her eyes, something wild and unreadable flickering in his.

Their eyes lock.

For a moment, neither speaks.

The alarm still screams in the distance — but here, it's silent. The hallway was deathly still, guards watching from the corners, unsure whether to interfere.

Maya glared up at him, eyes burning.

"You're a monster, Caleb. I hope you know that."

A long beat of silence. Then he said, quietly,

"I've known that for a long time."

Before she could respond, his voice turned to steel.

[Close-up – Caleb's eyes, cold and commanding] CALEB: "Take her back to the room."

[Two guards approach Maya] Maya's body tenses as the guards step forward. Her fists are clenched, her breath rapid.

MAYA (yelling): "Don't touch me!"

[The guards grab her arms] She struggles fiercely, trying to wrench herself free.

MAYA: "Let me go! I said let go!"

[She's dragged down the hallway] She turns her head back — her eyes burning with rage.

[Maya's furious eyes meet Caleb's] Their eyes lock. Hers are full of fire and fury. His remain unmoved, but something unreadable flickers there.

MAYA (furious, shouting): "I'll never forgive you for this!"

[Her door slams shut, locking her inside] The door closes with a heavy thud. Silence. Maya stands inside, fists trembling, her chest rising with anger.

Scene 2: Caleb's Office – Just After Maya Is Captured

The heavy door shut behind the three guards, including Henrik. None dared to breathe too loud. He stood by the window, his back to them. The tension was suffocating.

"You let her walk out of the room," Caleb said, voice low, ice-cold.

Henrik shifted uneasily. One of the other guards tried to explain, "Sir, she—she acted fast, we—"

Caleb turned slowly, his glare piercing.

The fire in his eyes burned through the room. "She acted fast? She's a girl locked in a room. You are trained men, guarding my mansion."

Henrik swallowed hard, unable to meet Caleb's gaze.

"You think this is a game?" Caleb's voice dropped to a dangerous whisper. "You think she's just some girl?"

He took a slow step forward. "If she had escaped… I would've buried all of you. Together."

The guards looked down, swallowed by silence.

Caleb's eyes locked on Henrik. "Henrik, from now on, I want your eyes on her — all the time. No more slips. Understand?"

Henrik nodded stiffly, heart pounding.

Caleb's voice cut through the quiet once more, cold and commanding: "Get out of my sight."

The guards moved quickly, their fear palpable.

Caleb stood alone, jaw clenched tight. His anger was more than frustration—it was a storm waiting to break

[Scene 3 – At Night] Maya sits on the floor, back against the wall, hugging her knees. Moonlight spills through the window. Tears quietly fall down her cheeks.

Close-up: Her face is tight with pain.

Maya (inner monologue): He took my father. My freedom. My life. Why won't he just take my pain too? Maya stares at the moon through the window.

Maya (inner monologue): I won't let him see me break… But I'm already broken.

Maya (whispers to herself): "I hate him... I hate him more than anything in this world."

Cut to Caleb's room: He sits on the edge of his bed, shirt loosened, drink in hand. He stares blankly at the floor. The air around him is heavy with silence.

Close-up: His face is shadowed, jaw clenched, brows furrowed.

Caleb (inner monologue): What I saw in Maya's eyes today… a mix of hatred, fear…

I've broken people without blinking. Burned down legacies. Buried names. And I've never looked back.

[He leans forward, hand on his forehead] But today…She looked at me like I was a monster. And maybe I am.

What I saw in her eyes… wasn't just hate. It was disappointment. And that— That f**ing stung.*

[He stands, tense, walking toward the window]

Caleb (inner monologue): Why her? Why does her judgment get under my skin? She's just another pawn in a war she doesn't understand...Right?

Then why the hell do I feel like I'm the one losing
