Chapter 41 - Chapter 7

Don't let anyone know your weakness if you want to survive.

I was slowly losing patience. I had to find Max before it was too late. But I couldn't search for him until I found out who that invisible creature was and how it had gotten into the manor. I sighed and took a deep breath. That being was definitely a cursed angel — worse than demons.

According to Miss Lenson, my history teacher, cursed angels are controlled by people cursed with famromina. Rumor has it cursed angels were destined to be the strongest creatures, but they were betrayed and stolen by white demons. White demons are basically demons with divine power, though for some reason, people call it white magic.

Lost in thought, I suddenly got kicked in the back. The blow was strong enough to send me stumbling forward. I spun around, but lost track of where that asshole went. Another kick hit me in the stomach, and I started getting pissed. No matter what I did, I had no chance of seeing them — they were completely invisible.

"What a pain in the ass," I muttered.

I took off the bandana from my head and tied it over my eyes. Now, I could hear their steps clearly, and I could smell them. They smelled like ash and stupidity.

I pulled out the daggers I kept hidden under my shirt.

After the assassination accident, I made sure Hellen returned the dagger I gave her for protection. She had complained for ten minutes about how heavy it was and how barely she could hold it.

Their steps were heavy and fast as they approached again. But they had a weakness so obvious I didn't need to see them to know it.

They didn't know how to fight. Their steps were too heavy before kicking, and they kicked with their toes — those dumbasses. Did they really think they had a chance against me? Nonsense.

I was raised as an assassin. I'd killed so many people that I'd become obsessed with killing.

I could no longer hold back the laugh I'd been trying to stifle. They were still running around like children, as if that was going to stop me from knowing exactly where they were.

"How about you stay still now? We both know you have no chance against me," I mocked. They didn't respond but slowed down. I guessed I didn't even have to blindfold myself to win this stupid, boring fight.

"Let's make a deal — you help me find Max, and I'll let you live."

They stopped dead in their tracks at my offer. Standing behind me, I turned around and removed the bandana from my eyes to face them.
