Inside the inheritance site.
Walking into the portal, Gu Zhongchen appeared in a dark cave. This cave was the inheritance site—at least the start of it.
This inheritance was from an evil martial artist who was at the Nascent Soul realm. This evil martial artist was also an alchemist and a formation master. Before being killed, he had made this inheritance site so that his legacy could continue.
Suddenly, the torches on the wall of the cave lit up, illuminating the cave. Now being able to see, the first sight that greeted Gu Zhongchen was four big tunnels.
The inheritance was divided into four parts. Each tunnel gave a part of the inheritance. However, one couldn't just walk into the tunnels and get the inheritance. The evil martial artist wanted someone like himself to get his inheritance. So he made the inheritance site a test. Each tunnel had a different test that would judge the four qualities he thought his inheritor should have. If you pass the test, you would get a part of his inheritance.
However, Gu Zhongchen already knew all about three of the four tests. Without thinking too much, he entered the last tunnel to his left side.
Walking through the tunnel, Gu Zhongchen came across another red portal. Seeing the portal, Gu Zhongchen jumped inside without a second thought.

In a spacious bedroom, a man and a woman could be seen sleeping in a king-sized bed. Suddenly, the man opened his eyes and sat up on the bed.
The eyes of the man seemed a little hazy. He seemed confused about his surroundings. However, a minute later, his eyes cleared up.
"This must be the illusion," Gu Zhongchen thought.
Yes, this was an illusion. The portal had teleported him to a formation called the Nightmare Formation. The tunnel that Gu Zhongchen entered tested one's cruelty and selfishness.
In this test, you would be in an illusion world living your life with your loved ones. However, after some time the illusion would make it so that you could not get success in your life unless you killed them. If you kill them, you would pass the test and the illusion would break. Otherwise, the illusion would continue, and you would have to live in misery until your real body died of old age.
However, since Gu Zhongchen already knew this, the illusion didn't work on him properly.
Gu Zhongchen looked around him and thought, "This seems to be my bedroom in my first life." As soon as the thought came to his mind, Gu Zhongchen's eyes widened in shock and he immediately looked beside him.
Beside him was a beautiful woman. She was sleeping. This was the hateful wife of his first life who had killed him.

However, he didn't know that his wife didn't love him at all. She was just with him for her family business. The only reason he didn't divorce her after knowing that she was cheating on him was because he didn't want her to get half of his wealth. They had a prenup that said if they got a divorce she would get half of his wealth no matter what she did or he did.
Thinking about all this, Gu Zhongchen sighed. He thought, "This feels so real. It's like I am back in the old world."
Suddenly, a crazy-looking smile appeared on his face. "Since this formation is giving me this gift, why not make the most of it?" Gu Zhongchen thought with a psychotic smile on his face. Then he went out of the room.
Four hours later
Currently, Gu Zhongchen was sitting on the edge of the bed. Blood could be seen all over his body. On the bed was a gruesome sight. Blood and body parts were everywhere.
For the past four hours, Gu Zhongchen had been torturing Alexa in every way possible.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, he thought, "Damn, that was satisfying. Feels like a weight has been lifted off my chest."
As he was thinking about this, the world around him started dissolving into light particles.

Back in the real world, Gu Zhongchen was standing still with his eyes closed in the middle of the Nightmare Formation. Suddenly, he opened his eyes.
"Looks like I passed," Gu Zhongchen thought with a smile on his face. He then started looking around.
In front of Gu Zhongchen was a small table with an ancient-looking bottle on it, and behind him was a red portal.
Inside the bottle were twenty miraculous pills. These pills were used to control people and enhance their cultivation talent.
If you soaked the pills in your blood and made people eat them, they would forever be loyal to you, and depending on your cultivation talent, theirs would be enhanced. These pills were perfect for raising powerful and loyal subordinates. Especially for him. After some time, they arrived at the mansion.

Gu Zhongchen went inside the secret passage without a worry. Unlike the other inheritance site, this one also didn't have any tests. This inheritance site was a secret treasury of the Qi royal family. Only the bracelet could open the secret passage.
Inside the secret inheritance site, Gu Zhongchen arrived at a large hall. In the middle of the hall were ten pedestals. Each had a ring on them.
These rings were storage rings, which were extremely rare. Even without the treasures inside the rings, the rings would be immensely valuable.
Each of the rings contained different cultivation resources such as weapons, cultivation manuals and techniques, pills, formations, spirit stones, etc. These things were gathered by the Qi royal family for generations. Unfortunately for them, they did not get to use them.
This inheritance was probably the second-best opportunity of the protagonist after the Five Elements Energy cultivation manual.
