Chapter 37 - Chapter 37 - The Three-Year Pact

Xu Mingxi plunged into the Star Dou Great Forest without looking back. The Star Crown Sect recalled most of the sect's followers, leaving only a few people still practicing outside, and Xu Mingxi was one of them.

The outside world was in chaos. The Holy Maiden of the Spirit Hall was convinced that she had found true love, and the abandoned son of the Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Clan began to read books and organize information in the library of the Spirit Hall.

The Clear Sky Twins traveled the continent, achieving fame and also meeting the people they loved most in their lives. Relying on the Twin Sword Bone Douluo, the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect's business spread across the continent.

The Star Luo Empire was ambitious and wanted to conquer the entire Heaven Dou Empire. The Spirit Hall mediated and curbed the Star Luo Empire's development. The entire continent entered a period of relatively stable development.

Three years later, the sect leader personally came with the grand elder and two people titled Douluo to a small town on the outskirts of the Star Dou Great Forest. This was the place where they agreed to meet with Xu Mingxi.

The vast Star Forest was like a beast eating human souls. Every year, every day, people lost their lives here.

The two began the long wait. As time passed, the Great Elder's face gradually paled, and there was a hint of pain in the Sect Master's eyes.

Just when they thought the future of the Star Crown Sect had been destroyed in the Star Dou Great Forest, Xu Mingxi walked out of the Star Dou Great Forest alone. The moment he saw the Sect Master and the Great Elder, he finally collapsed from a sense of calm.

The Great Elder's eyes were filled with tears. This was his grandson whom he had spoiled for twenty years. He looked at the bright red bloodstains on Xu Mingxi's clothes, as well as on his messy hair, his beard, and his weathered face.

Knowing that the sect leader had carried Xu Mingxi on his back, the Great Elder saw the centipede-like scars on his back that stretched from his back all the way down to his neck. He could no longer hold back his tears, and tears flowed uncontrollably from the eyes of this nearly 100-year-old man.

"Let us return to the sect."

The two checked and found Xu Mingxi had just collapsed from overwork, so they bathed him, bought the most expensive and comfortable carriage in town, and brought the young master of the Crown Star Sect back to the sect.

What they didn't know was that shortly after they left, a group of strong men rushed out of Star Dou Forest, searching with Xu Mingxi's portrait, and seemed to have robbed something from them.

The portrait showed Xu Mingxi's disheveled appearance after he went through hardships, with disheveled hair, an untidy beard, a face covered in dust, and wearing tattered clothes like an ordinary soul master.

Even if Xu Mingxi came, he probably wouldn't be able to recognize that he was his once glorious younger brother.

As soon as Xu Mingxi came out of the Star Dou Great Forest, he was picked up by the sect leader and grand elder. No one in the small town had ever seen him, let alone knew where he was going.

The burly man in front violently displayed his martial spirit, and seven spirit rings appeared on his body. The pitch-black seventh spirit ring instantly ignited, and with a single hammer blow, the entire town was razed to the ground.

The soul masters in the city fled one after another, and those who survived stared at the hammer in his hand, angry but speechless. They watched as he destroyed the city and then took his team away.

Search posters for Xu Mingxi written in graffiti began to circulate across the continent. Whoever found her could go to Clear Sky Sect to claim the reward of 10,000 gold soul coins.

The provocateur had returned to Star Luo Mountain by carriage. On the way, Xu Mingxi awoke from his coma and saw his grandfather sitting next to him. He took a few mouthfuls of food then fell into a deep sleep again. He'd been completely exhausted in the past three years.

A few days later, Xu Mingxi finally woke up after getting enough sleep, took a shower, and changed into a high-collared soul master robe that covered the scars on his back and even his neck. Seeing his reflection in the water, he felt as if he was in another world.

He greeted his mother and walked alone on Star Luo Mountain while looking at the surrounding plants and trees. Time seemed to have stopped on this mountain. There was almost no change at all. The only thing that changed were the people of the Crown Star Sect that grew here.

Xu Mingxi walked into the sect master's hall. Since the sect master and the eleven elders received the news that Xu Mingxi had woken up, except for the five elders guarding Xu Mingxi outside, they had all arrived and had been waiting for a long time.

They looked at Xu Mingxi, whom they hadn't seen in years. He even looked a little dazed. She was completely different now. The confidence and courage that radiated from him made even these old men feel awed.

Xu Mingxi nodded to the sect leader and several elders, until he saw his father sitting below and smiled gently.

With this smile, the exposed sharp side was instantly restrained and completely hidden within the body. Xu Mingxi would never aim his excellence at reproduction, nurturing the family and the sect.

The sect leader and the elders were very happy. Doesn't this seem like the sect's successor? What had happened before? They just didn't know if Mingxi had fallen behind in his soul force training over the past three years in the Star Dou Great Forest.

Xu Mingxi knew what the sect leader and the elders were thinking. A crown of stars appeared, and six soul rings lit up above the crown of stars. A sixty-seventh-level fighting soul emperor appeared.

Fortunately, his soul power cultivation didn't lag behind. This cultivation speed was even faster than Xu Mingxi's original speed in the sect. No one asked about his sixth soul skill. They all dispersed after leaving a word.

Seven days later, the young master succession ceremony would be held.

When Xu Mingxi returned home, he was surrounded by his grandfather and parents. He accepted their care and slowly told them the good things about his experiences in the past three years.

Over the past three years, other than soul hunting and traveling, Xu Mingxi had been practicing or was on his way to practice. He even reduced his sleep time to the extreme, which was why he had the current level of soul power.

Originally, he went to a small town outside the Star Dou Great Forest alone, investigated for a few days, and joined a reputable group of soul-hunting mercenaries.

It was relatively smooth at first. He was able to obtain some gold soul coins while gaining experience. Even while reaching level 60, he happened to encounter a Howling Moon Silver Wolf that was nearly 20,000 years old. With the help of his teammates, he successfully hunted it down and obtained his current sixth soul ring.

But the good times did not last long. While hunting a ten thousand year old soul beast, a soul bone exploded. The leader of the mercenary group and the only soul saint immediately turned against them and wanted to kill the entire group.

Their mercenary group only valued quality over quantity. Including Xu Mingxi, there were only six of them. The strong-attack type Soul Emperor and strong-attack type Soul King closest to the group leader were killed without any warning.

The remaining three people ran away to save themselves, but they were no match for their opponents. Xu Mingxi was the last person to be hunted down, and he managed to escape only with the help of the night environment. However, even so, he left an indelible scar on his back.

As for the soul bone, it naturally fell to the team leader. Xu Mingxi remembered him completely, the soul saint known as Giant Wings. The good man of the past turned into a demon when facing interests.
