Next Up: Highschool DxD: Crawling x Chaos
~Yuji Liberio~
Sailing without an actual navigator was like having hemoroids with diarhea.
You see, it's very easy to lose your way when all you can see is fucking blue, more blue, and a little more blue over there. It's practically impossible to know where you are going and how the weather other than the one I am making is going to behave if I'm not glued to the goddamn compass 24/7. And I wasn't even in the damn grand line yet.
Does it sound like I'm pissed? Because I am.
At first, I chased after Nami because she was the best navigator and because she is hot but it wasn't that important to me because I thought I was hot shit who could sail with gale and a compass alone.
Turns out? If you aren't experienced with compasses and can't read a map for shit, you will get shit on. Who knew? I didn't.
Now? I was getting my hands on Nami one way or the other, sailing the seas of One Piece are actually hell if you don't know what you are doing. And it would be practically impossible for me to sail in the Grand Line where the weather is snorting coke, heroin and doing a breakdance at the same time every day.
There was one question about my plans, and that was what was going to happen to Rubber Man, not Reed Richards but the Sun God himself. Mr. Nika, the warrior of liberation and the elastic man without a thought inside of his head. Destined to liberate the world from the tyranny of the world government or some shit like that.
What would happen to him if I took away his Navigator? The people he helped along the way wouldn't happen or would he find some other way?
I didn't know.
And frankly? I didn't care.
He was the chosen one, fated in the legends he can probably find his way around in other ways. If he was able to survive inside of a barrel floating through the ocean as a goddamn devil fruit user, he can sail anywhere with his dumb luck.
And even then, if he isn't going to be there because of my direct consequences, I would just pick up his slack. I definitely can do it with the Chaos Gacha and doing so would give me rolls so it was a win-win.
Still, I had wasted a few days due to getting lost at sea, while it was annoying I still would reach Organ Islands, the extra time at least let me get better used to my powers.
My control over Gale got better but it was overshadowed slightly by Ozone Baby. While Gale was more versatile and easier to use than Ozone Baby, OB was a different kind of monster.
Ozone Baby was a rather... Complex ability.
In the hands of someone without much knowledge of physics and air pressure, it would be rather lacklustre.
Hell, in terms of energy to destructive power ratio in its base was worse than Gale.
But!
I was not an unshaven, unclean, unsubstantiated and unsportsmanlike pirate sailing the seas! I was only one of those adjectives I had listed.
Manipulating air pressure is not about the sheer pressure you exert with it, that is wasting your energy on the least useful part.
First of all, how my ability works.
I created zones that I controlled the air pressure inside of. Increasing or decreasing it within the bounds of the zone. Their zones weren't invisible, instead looking like Law's rooms but tinted green.
The smaller the zone, the more potent the effect. In a 1-meter zone, I can increase pressure enough to shatter rocks and bend metal. But too small of a zone and I would really need to concentrate.
Here is a lesson in practical physics. Wind is created from the difference in air pressure, high-pressure air flows towards low-pressure air and that creates wind.
Air Zones alone weren't very potent, but being creative with them was.
For example, a [Low Pressure Zone] makes it practically impossible for any number of mooks to fight me, flintlocks don't work with so little air pressure and the decompression sickness along with them choking due to having less access to air from low pressure makes it easy for me to kill them. And if I want a gore fest I can dispell the Low Pressure Zone and replace it with a High Pressure Zone to quite literally implode them.
However that costs a massive amount of energy to use since the more I change Air Pressure the more energy I have to exert, and going from low to high is too much for me to be worth using it. And creating more than one zone requires considerable concentration.
I have created 3 techniques already.
[High Pressure Zone] where I create a zone of high pressure with 4 levels of intensity. Level 1 creates incredible discomfort and hinders fights as it feels like being dunked over 10 meters underwater. Level 2 makes it hard to breathe and move properly, basically unfightable for a normal person, like being 50 meters underwater, empty objects start to crumple inwards at this level. Level 3 is where people's lungs collapse and skin begins to bruise, any empty object that is not made of metal starts imploding. Level 4 which I cannot do yet would implode people.
High Pressure Zone was the simplest ability, increasing pressure was easier than decreasing it, but if I don't actively keep a zone it dissipates as the high-pressure wind turns into winds that blow away, I could create wind bombs with brief high-pressure zones but they weren't very lethal.
[Low-Pressure Zone] is where I create a zone of high pressure with 4 levels of intensity. But I can only to level 1 so far, which is as I mentioned before, making simple pistols and gunpowder weapons useless and giving people decompression sickness. Level 2 theoretically would start popping their ears and give them hypoxia from the lack of air they are able to take in, they would pass out in less than a minute.
Levels 3 and 4 are rather... gruesome.
Level 3 would start boiling them inside out due to lack of air pressure, their lungs would rupture if they held their breath as the higher-pressure air tries to escape. Level 4 is just a more intense version of that, approaching a real vacuum.
But they were hard to use as Low-Pressure Air is harder to maintain, considerably, doubling air pressure is trivial while halving it is harder. Just like you can get a fire to 1,000,000 Celsius but the closer you to get -273.15 Celsius you need to exert more and more energy.
And then my last technique was [Wind Canon] where I create two zones, one low and one high, low towards the target and high behind the low away from them. And due to the massive pressure difference between the two zones, it creates a powerful burst of wind. And I mean powerful burst of wind. Physics were a wonderful thing when you learned how to use them.
Although difficult to pull off due to having to keep both zones without them prematurely firing from the pressure difference while raising it. The end result, well...
I nearly capsized my entire ship when I aimed it toward the sea.
I can definitely level a building with Wind Canon. The winds were strong enough to shatter stone and the range was large enough to make it hard to dodge. Even Arlong would be hurt by it. Not wounded but hurt. Though if I got the opportunity to use all of my power on it(no fucking chance in a real fight) I could probably blast him out of the island.
Still, I was pretty excited currently, at this pace I should be pretty damn near the Orange Islands already. I could see a vague blur on the horizon that looked like an island so I would be finally reaching my target which was great.
To be honest, I really wanted to sit on dry land for a bit, a shit boat like this did not have a lot of stability, maybe eat some animal meat, fish was fine but you can get rather sick of it you know? Still, I planned to my stomach with some fish before I boarded because it was probable that the moment I stepped onto the island, Buggy would be on my ass.
But as I was grilling some fish on my docks I saw...
...A giant pink bird divebombing towards my food. Fucking thing was the size of a large car, even larger than Nue. What the fuck!?
Forget about snatching my food, if that thing hits my ship it may just sink it, and I keep all of my stuff along with the Devil Fruit here.
Thankfully I still had Ozone Baby slotted in so I burriedly used it, raising my hand and creating a circular High Pressure Zone in its divebombing path and increasing the pressure as much as I physically could.
"Kuekh!!!"
The divebombing was instantly slowed down as it acted like it had slammed into a wall of gel before its feathers were shorn off and its beak cracked, it was held mid-air by the wall of high-pressure air it was stuck in, if it was buoyant in normal air it didn't have enough power to escape the high-pressure trap. As it was trapped I summoned Nue to rise up and divebomb it and I dispelled the zone the moment Nue was close enough, slamming into the bird, its talons crushing the head and electrifying it, killing it.
Thud!
"Whoah! Easy there!"
I felt the ship shake as the bird landed on the deck rather roughly. Was the bird edible? I didn't know, I could certainly try it though. No reason for it to be poisonous right?
As I was debating the logistics of cooking the giant pink birds brutalized corpse I got a rather ominous notification.
Feat Achieved! Sever the bonds of fate and kill the bird that carried Luffy to Orange Town.
+1x Gold Trait Gacha Ticket
...Excuse me?
I sat down and racked my brain, it's been a good bit since I watched early One Piece. But after getting a good look at the bird I remembered something.
Didn't Luffy end up in Orange Town because he was a dumbass who decided to just grab a random bird and fly across the sky?
...I know I said I would change the future but wow was this fast.
Well, I shall take the reward or more like pity with grace.
Roll it Jeeves!
Rolling Gold Trait Gacha...
A Rare Trait!
[Efficient Cells]
|Rarity: Rare|
Your cells are supernaturally efficient at converting sustenance into energy, you regain your energy significantly faster as long as you are well-fed. And you also heal slightly faster due to your increased metabolism.
Ooh, this is a good one for sure. Using Ozone Baby for longer and more juice for it is always welcome.
Anyway, I think I am almost there. Orange Island here I come!

~Nami~
She may have miscalculated.
She got too complacent, who knew that the pirates she stole from would have their base set up on the very island she landed on?
Now she was caught and bound a bit too tightly by said pirates and slung over the shoulder of the portly short one with a large beard.
"Hey man, what should we do with the chick? She got a nice ass on her you know?"
She felt the blood in her veins run cold and bit down on her gag hard, if those filthy pirates dared touch her she'd-
Bonk!
"Don't be a dumbass! We are taking her to the boss obviously! Buggy would beat us to death if we let her off so easily after stealing his map! He'll be glad to be able to blast away the thief who stole from him, who knows, he may even reward us for catching a rat!"
"Ah, t'h makes sense. The boss needs to execute the rat in a flashy way! Scatter her guts across town with a Buggy Ball™!"
Nami breathed a sigh of relief and resumed working on her restraints. Just glad that her captors belonged to a strange group of pirates and that she wouldn't have her first time be taken by filthy pirates.
But having the threat of being executed via cannonball did not sound much better.
This situation did not bode well for her.
A/N: Ozone Baby is a very useful ability, it is incredibly powerful for the East Blue at least but it's also very slow to use. So Yuji will have to get creative if he wants to use it during combat. And what do you know? The canon is already dead, a lot of Luffy's adventure is caused by coincidence, it really does not take much to derail it.
Nami finally makes her appearance while in a pinch. Looks like she'll need a dashing rogue to swoop in and save her, doesn't she?
