I was woken up by voices.
Not the sweet, soothing voice of Allie this time—no, these were louder. Sharper. Human.
I tried my best to look around, but that wasn't going well. My head felt like it was made of lead.
Must be all my genius weighing it down.
Eventually, I managed to tilt my gaze just enough to get a blurry view of the room. A couple of police officers were talking to the Matron—yep, same stern lady with the "I run this place with iron tea and a wooden spoon" energy.
They were going through the usual: abandoned child protocols, paperwork, questioning. I caught a few words, mostly mumbled in that official-yet-bored cop tone.
Then I heard it.
"His name will be Kuren Soul."
I relaxed a little.
Good. I didn't want a new name. I liked mine. Felt… right.
I tuned them out after that and turned my attention inward.
"Allie… sorry about earlier."
I felt a flicker of guilt. Not that she seemed upset, but still.
"It's okay, dear," she said sweetly. "I was going through the shop catalog and cross-checking some world options anyway. Got a little carried away, to be honest."
I smiled inside.
"How long was I out?"
"Only about four hours," she replied. "Not bad for your first bottle-induced food coma."
I chuckled in my head.
Yeah… not bad at all.
"Dear, I bought several books on this world's magic," Allie said sweetly, her voice like a soft chime in my mind.
"Oh? What books exactly?" I asked, perking up inside. I'd completely forgotten I could buy knowledge. Of course I could.
She listed them off with gentle pride.
"One on training magic , one for magical theory, charms, transfiguration, potions, magical creatures, and a few focused on mind magic—including Occlumency and Legilimency."
I blinked.
"Wait… Occlumency? How could i forget about Occlumency "
"Yes," she said with a pleased tone. "Beginner to advanced level. Complete training set."
I felt a grin forming on my baby face. "That's perfect. Can I read these books without, you know… holding them? I have noodle arms."
"You can access any book directly through the system interface," she confirmed. "It will be displayed in your mind like a mental projection. And I'll help you with anything you don't understand."
"Nice," I murmured. "Then I'll start with Occlumency. Easily one of the most useful magics in this world. And it's not like I've got much else to do as a baby."
"Smart choice," Allie said warmly. "You'll be able to strengthen your mental defenses, train your memory, and even detect when someone's trying to mess with your mind."
"Bonus I can read people's thoughts later," I added.
She giggled.
Over the next month, I did the only thing a baby with a lead head and god-tier library access could do:
I read.
Magic books, magical animal books, theory book—anything Allie bought for me, I devoured. And honestly? It was fun.
I mean… it's magic. Even reading about it made my soul buzz a little.
Plus, it's not like I had anything better to do. I couldn't walk. I couldn't crawl. I could barely fart without it being a group activity.
So I read.
And I tried to train Occlumency.
Keyword: tried.
That shit is difficult. To even begin, you have to meditate—and therein lies the problem:
Can't. Fucking. Meditate.
I've tried. Every day. For a month.
I bought books, guides, scrolls. I listened to Allie's soothing "Let's center your thoughts" tutorial like twenty-seven times.
Nothing worked.
The moment I sat down—mentally speaking—to "clear my mind," my brain was like:
"Is it clear yet?"
"That feels clear."
"Wait, was that a thought?"
"Damn it, now I'm thinking about not thinking—STOP THINKING ABOUT NOT THINKING—"
Every single time.
Every. Damn. Time.
And the worst part?
To even begin training my magic, I have to make contact with it.
And to do that?
You guessed it: more meditation.
It's maddening. Absolutely rage-inducing.
"How the hell do people do this?" I grumbled internally. "Is there a meditation cheat code? Can I buy Inner Peace in the shop? Ten for a gold piece? Anything??"
Allie, of course, was endlessly patient.
"You're doing well, sweetie. It takes time," she'd say in that warm, supportive tone that made me feel both loved and deeply betrayed by the universe.
Other than my many failed attempts at meditation, I spent a lot of time just talking with Allie and browsing through the shop.
And when I say browsing, I mean eyeballing legendary bullshit.
I'm talking:
Sharingan. Kryptonian bloodline. Gate of Babylon. Saiyan.
I swear, at one point I just stared at the screen like a kid drooling on the glass of a candy store display—if the candy store also sold multiversal nukes.
Imagine, if you will…
A Kryptonian-Saiyan hybrid, going Super Kryptonian Saiyan Blue, with a pair of Rinne Sharingan, punching you directly in the face at the speed of your regret.
I shuddered. Literal goosebumps in my soul.
That level of power? Illegal in most fanfics.
Sadly, reality kicked in.
Those items were expensive. Like, "sell-your-soul-and-its-DLC" expensive.
Some of the price tags were so high, I swear they started using scientific notation.
"I think…" I muttered internally, "I may have to sell some planets just to afford a starter pack of this stuff."
Allie chuckled, unfazed.
"Well, dear, it's called the Omniversal Shop. It was never going to run a clearance sale."
After another humiliating defeat in my daily battle with meditation, I decided it was time to actually be productive.
"Allie," I said with as much dignity as an infant could muster, "let's plant the wheat."
She appeared in my mind's eye with a warm smile and an apron now tied over her sundress. "Of course, dear. You have 100 wheat seeds from the Starter Gift. Shall we use all of them?"
"Yes. Let's go full agricultural overlord."
"Very well," she said, clearly suppressing a giggle.
[INNER WORLD FARMING INTERFACE – ACTIVATED]
Plots Available: 10 (Basic Soil)
Crop Selected: Common Wheat (x100)
Irrigation Source: Phoenix Spring – Connected
Time Acceleration: 10x
Growth Boosts: +15% from Soil, +25% from Water Aura
Auto-Care: Enabled (Allie)
I watched the screen shift as if zooming into a satellite view of my inner world. Allie stood near the center, holding a small basket of golden seeds. With a flick of her hand, the entire plot tilled itself—rows of neat, dark earth forming in real time.
Then she started walking.
With each step, the seeds shimmered out of the basket, planting themselves in perfect, measured intervals. Within seconds, the entire field was sown.
She clapped her hands once, and the Phoenix Spring pulsed with warm light. Shimmering water flowed through invisible channels and soaked into the soil, making the air shimmer with magic-rich humidity.
Almost immediately, green sprouts burst from the ground.
"Growth acceleration confirmed," Allie said, checking the interface.
"You just planted wheat… and it looks cooler than a boss fight," I muttered.
Allie smiled proudly. "Estimated full maturity: 6 hours inner world time. That's about 36 minutes in the outside world."
"I love magic farming," I said, watching as the sprouts grew taller by the second. "I feel like I'm playing on cheat mode."
"There's also an Auto-Harvest function," she added helpfully. "Shall I enable it?"
"Yes. Let's see what GP we can get for magically-enhanced wheat."
"Done, sweet farmer lord."
I lightly laugh.
A few hours later, Allie pinged me softly in my mind.
"The wheat's ready, dear. Harvesting now."
[Inner World Update]
100 Wheat Planted
Growth Duration: 6 Hours (10x time)
Mutation Triggered: High Mana Saturation
Rare Variant Discovered: Golden Arc-Wheat
My mental screen lit up like a loot drop.
"Wait—mutation?" I asked, sitting up in my mind's eye.
"Yes," Allie said brightly. "Due to ambient mana from the Phoenix Spring, eight of the wheat plants evolved into a rare magical strain: Golden Arc-Wheat. Twice the yield. Infused with low-grade mana. Higher sell value."
I blinked.
"So… I accidentally invented magical super bread?"
"Magical super wheat, technically," she corrected. "But yes."
[Harvest Summary]
92x Common Wheat
16x Golden Arc-Wheat
"Now then," I said, practically vibrating. "Let's sell."
Allie giggled. "Yes, hubby."
[New Structures Unlocked]
Storage Shed – Auto-installed next to the field. Sorts and preserves crops.
Grain Mill (Basic) – Grinds wheat into flour. Required for high-sale items.
[GP Earned]
+2 CP (Common Wheat)
+5 SP (Golden Arc-Wheat)
Total GP: 26.04
"Not bad for a single day's work," I muttered, already watching the next wave of seeds go in. "Let's keep farming until I can buy the Sharingan and make eye contact with poverty as I leave it behind."
