Chapter 29 - "029 The Rampaging Divine Beast: Wild Boar"

Campione World.

Mediterranean Region, Sardinia.

After stepping out of the Mist Space, Su Mo found himself back in a familiar setting.

—The airport.

Unlike his counterpart from the Fairy Tail world who had transmigrated as a child and grown up there, this version of Su Mo had only recently crossed over into the Campione world. In fact, it had barely been a few days since his sudden arrival.

Dropped into a foreign land with no money, no identification, and no clear direction, things could have gone south very quickly.

If not for the timely awakening of his golden finger—his cheat ability—and the fact that he was able to rely on help from the other versions of himself in alternate worlds, he probably would've ended up sleeping on park benches like a homeless wanderer.

His counterpart from the Tiga Ultraman world was fluent in multiple languages, while the one from the Fairy Tail world was a combat monster.

Thanks to their combined knowledge and abilities, Su Mo had been cautious rather than reckless—opting to observe his surroundings before using any magic. Looking back, that had been a very wise decision.

As soon as he learned the name of this city, something had clicked in his mind. A quick dive into the internet confirmed it—this world was far more plagued by natural disasters than the one he had come from.

Sardinia, in particular, had recently seen a flurry of bizarre calamities.

When he deliberately traveled to the affected zones to investigate, what he saw confirmed his suspicions. Those "natural disasters" were merely the official explanation for the public.

Ordinary people might only perceive raging storms or fierce winds. But for someone like Su Mo, who possessed magical perception, the outlines of divine beasts were unmistakably clear.

It didn't take long for him to piece things together—he was in the world of Campione.

A world where gods descended in their rogue incarnations, bringing destruction and chaos.

And among humanity, there existed rare individuals—Campiones—who could slay gods with their mortal bodies and steal their divine Authorities.

The first god-slaying was usually a fluke, but once accomplished, it transformed the human into a Campione, granting them a fraction of divine power. It wasn't an exaggeration to call it an instant leap to the top of the food chain.

Su Mo had long coveted the power of a Campione.

Now, with the means to slay gods at his fingertips, he certainly wasn't going to let this golden opportunity slip away.

"Emergency announcement: A sudden tornado has been detected within a five-kilometer radius of the airport. All passengers are advised to remain indoors and not venture outside!"

The loudspeaker blared with urgency, repeating the message over and over as the terminal descended into controlled panic.

Su Mo looked up—only to see the sky grow visibly darker. Not because night had fallen, but because a thick blanket of pitch-black storm clouds had completely shrouded the heavens.

The wind howled violently, bending trees until they snapped under the pressure.

The sudden tornado sent shockwaves of fear through the crowd. Even the locals—typically dismissive of public warnings—were rushing to take shelter. The sheer ferocity of the weather left them no choice.

"Wind, huh…"

Su Mo narrowed his eyes, recalling the original events of this world.

These strange weather phenomena were the work of Verethragna, a rogue god who had descended as a Heretic.

He and another god, Melqart, had fought a fierce battle upon their descent, during which Verethragna's divine essence had been shattered into ten separate incarnations—each one embodying a different Authority.

The tornado before him? That had to be one of Verethragna's incarnations—the embodiment of Wind.

"If I remember correctly, there was a tornado a few days ago too, and then it abruptly stopped…"

Su Mo rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

"That must've been when Verethragna reabsorbed his [Wind] incarnation. But now that the tornado is back, it probably means he's using the Wind fragment to hunt down and reclaim his other fragments."

Having been scattered into ten entities, Verethragna was now trying to reassemble himself piece by piece.

But those splintered incarnations didn't come quietly—they had to be subdued through battle before they could be reabsorbed.

This violent storm? Merely the aftermath of Verethragna fighting one of his own fragments.

With that realization, Su Mo made his decision.

While the rest of the crowd moved inward, away from danger, he turned and walked in the opposite direction—toward the heart of the storm.

Just as the security guards stationed near the airport were about to shout at the reckless man walking straight into the storm, the figure suddenly vanished.

In the blink of an eye—gone without a trace.

The guard rubbed his eyes in disbelief. Had he just seen a ghost? Or was it a hallucination?

A cold shiver ran down his spine at the thought.

Roughly five kilometres away from the airport, Su Mo reappeared—no longer in physical form, but having transformed into pure light as he travelled through space almost instantaneously.

The area had already been evacuated.

Once a residential zone, now it was nothing but rubble and ruin.

And standing amidst the wreckage was a monstrous black boar—towering over twenty meters tall—its roar shaking the very air as it howled into the heavens.

The saying goes: One boar, two bears, three tigers.

Even in nature, wild boars are known to be thick-skinned and ferocious.

But this beast—clearly divine in origin—was on a whole other level of savage.

The divine boar's furious posture alone radiated an overwhelming aura of wrath and destruction. Its bluish-black hide bristled with unnatural menace, and its massive fangs jutted like sabers from its snarling maw.

As its roar thundered, a colossal sphere of pure magical force formed within its mouth—pulsing, growing.

Then, with a devastating bellow, the divine beast unleashed it.

A shockwave of destruction tore through the air, blasting apart everything in its path—earth, buildings, even the very ground—ripping toward the oncoming tornado like a cannon shell fired from a siege weapon.

The embodiment of the [Boar] clashed head-on with the incarnation of [Wind].

The result? Utter annihilation of every structure in the vicinity.

Watching from above, Su Mo couldn't help but click his tongue.

"A terrifying creature," he muttered.

Compared to this divine wild boar, even Udaeus—the monstrous floor boss of level 6 in the Dungeon City of Orario—seemed like a brittle statue. While the two may have been similar in size, their power was worlds apart.

One direct blast from the boar would be more than enough to obliterate Udaeus completely.
