Ed had just secured the deal to bring A.O.P into his promotion, but he had to think kf another name for the due. As he was making his way to his company. News was spreading fast that they were looking for new talents, Ed's dms were on fire as multiple wrestlers started sending him links to their matches, some sent promo videos and others sent their videos practicing. Ed on the other hand was still not bothered by anything, the pressure was there but he was confident that everything will work out somehow.
As he reaches his destination, he walks to his office to find Matt waiting there. "Matt?" He said with a hint of concern. Matt was sitted to the door opposite to his so Ed took a sit there. "Ed." Said Matt as he reached out for a handshake.
Ed being curious asked. "What can I help you with?"
Matt:
"It's about the Talent scouting, I may have a suggestion on who to sign. There's a kid I met in the indies, a Asain boy called Kaito Yamato. I think he has what it takes to be big one day."
Ed takes a moment to think to himself.
"Kaito Yamato? Isn't that the name of the first Japanese wrestler to Win the WWE world Heavyweight championship in 2030?"
Matt, thinking that Ed silence wasn't in Kaitos favor started to talk more about the kid hoping that it'll leave a good impression on Ed. "Look, his 6 foot 2, a with a lean athletic build. Even though his 22 this year he has been doing this for six years now. I think he would be a good fit here if given the cha-" Before he could finisher talking Ed cuts him off.
"Okay, let's get him on the line. Do you have his number? He asked calmly.
Matt who couldn't believe what he just heard was in shock. "Y-yeah. I do." He said
Ed:
"Okay, let's give him a call."
Matt: (nervously)
"Just like that?"
Ed:
"Yeah. You vouched for him, so I'll take your word for it."
Matt handed the number over to Ed who used his company phone to make the call. Kaito didn't pick up the first two time and on the third attempt he picked up.
"Kaito Yamato speaking. Who is this?" He said. Ed raised an eyebrow in surprise to the rude greeting.
"Kaito. You're speaking With Edward Mayers." He responded.
"Edward Mayers? Yeah right. Where on earth will a rich bum like him get my number? Did Gerald put you up to this? Tell him I won't fall for a prank like this since the HHH one, you Son of a b!**" he hungs up
Ed and Matt look at each other. Matt more scared than Ed who had a serious look on his face.
"He hung up on me." Ed said.
Matt, nervously suggested that he'll call him on his private phone and tell him that it was the real Ed Mayers who called.
"Hello, Big brother Matt. What's happening?"
"Nothing much. Hey, you know thst call you just hanged up?" Kaito on the other hand didn't let him finish. "Was that you big bro? Not cool, did you want to rub in the fact that you're signed? Dibt worry, I'll get signed too in no time." He said getting worked up
"Kaito, focus." Matt shouted over throughout the conversation. Kaito who had finally calmed down was now ready to listen. "It wasn't me who made that call. It was the real Ed Mayers infect." He said nervously.
"What!!!" Kaito shouted. "Than you mean to tell me that I told the real Ed Mayers t-t-that his -"
"A bum?" Ed continued. "Yea you did, Mr Yamato."
Kaito's face turned bright red as he realized the gravity of the situation. "Oh no, oh no, oh no...this can't be happening," he muttered, his voice trembling with embarrassment.
Matt tried to stifle a laugh, but it was clear he was struggling to keep a straight face. "Kaito, dude, you really called Ed Mayers a bum?" he asked, chuckling.
Kaito's eyes widened in horror. "Shut up, Matt! This is not funny! What am I going to do?" He paced back and forth, trying to think of a way to rectify the situation.
Ed, on the other hand, seemed to be enjoying the exchange. "Well, Mr. Yamato, I think it's safe to say you've made an impression. Now, about that meeting...are you ready to discuss business?"
Kaito's face fell, and he looked like he was about to pass out. "I...I don't know if I can do this," he stammered.
Matt stepped in, trying to salvage the situation. "Hey, Ed, maybe we could reschedule for another time? Kaito's just a little...nervous."
But Ed shook his head. "No, no, I think this is perfect. Mr. Yamato, you have a certain.....flair. I think you'd be a great fit for our qrestling promotion. But first, let's discuss the terms of the contract..."
Kaito's eyes went wide, and he looked like he was about to faint. This was either going to be the best or worst day of his life."As you know, I've signed Matt to my wrestling promotion GCW fKA Ecwz. According to Matt, you would be a good fit. So do wanna join?" Asked Ed
Kaito's eyes were wide with shock, and he looked like he was still trying to process the sudden turn of events. "Join...GCW?" he stammered, his voice barely above a whisper.
Ed nodded, a hint of a smile on his face. "Yes, GCW. We think you'd be a great addition to our roster. Matt here has spoken highly of you, and we're always looking for talented individuals to join our family."
Kaito's mind was racing. He had always been a huge fan of wrestling, and the thought of joining a promotion like GCW was a dream come true. But he was also still reeling from the fact that he had called Ed Mayers a bum just moments before. Matt chimed in, trying to reassure his friend. "Dude, it's a great opportunity. You'd fit right in with the GCW style. And who knows, maybe you can even help me with some of my matches."
Kaito took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves. "Okay...I'll do it," he said finally, his voice still shaking slightly. Ed grinned, seeming to enjoy Kaito's nervous energy. "Excellent! Let's get down to business, then. We'll need to discuss contract details, promotional appearances...the works." As Ed began to outline the terms of the contract, Kaito's eyes grew wider and wider, his excitement and nervousness building with each passing moment. He couldn't believe this was happening – he, Kaito Yamato, was going to be a part of GCW.
