Chapter 78 - Chapter 158: Do I Have to Thank You for This?

After everything was done, Zhao Ling stood up from the ground. The six or seven ten-thousand-year Spirit Beasts nearby still had no idea they were already trapped within his Heaven's Net Domain.

Seeing him suddenly rise, the beasts grew wary and backed off slightly. However, none of them were willing to just leave—the scent of the grilled meat was far too tempting.

Zhao Ling swept his eyes coldly across all the ten-thousand-year Spirit Beasts except for the Unihorn Flame Tyrannosaurus and shouted sharply:

"Scram!"

Immediately, all the other Spirit Beasts felt a wave of rejection from the Heaven's Net Domain. In the next instant, they felt their vision blur as they were forcibly expelled from the domain.

All of them were stunned. With their still-developing intelligence, none could comprehend how they were suddenly transported outside.

Even though they couldn't make sense of what just happened, the rich scent of roasted meat in the air lured them back like a magnet. One by one, they gleefully attempted to rush toward the firepit.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

A series of dull thuds rang out as each Spirit Beast slammed headfirst into an invisible yet solid spatial barrier.

A ten-thousand-year tiger-type Spirit Beast smacked its head so hard it stumbled and collapsed, dizzy as if it were drunk, stars spinning around its head.

The other Spirit Beasts didn't fare much better. One armored rhinoceros-type Spirit Beast managed to recover after just two minutes, thanks to its fearsome defense, and charged again.

"Bang!"

Its horn cracked from the impact, but the barrier remained completely unaffected.

Furious, the rhinoceros snorted—how could the meat be right there, just a few hundred meters away, filling its nostrils with mouthwatering aroma, and yet be completely unreachable?

Refusing to accept it, it charged several more times—until finally, it collapsed again from the repeated impacts, completely unconscious.

Meanwhile, the Unihorn Flame Tyrannosaurus watched in bewilderment as the others went mad with desperation. It couldn't understand why they were driven away while it was still trapped here.

It certainly didn't believe the two humans had taken a liking to it and were inviting it to share the feast. Yeah right—those two would more likely roast it next.

Cautiously, it stared at the man—Zhao Ling—whose size was pitiful compared to its own, yet somehow commanded terrifying power.

After seeing him utter one word—"Scram"—and watching the other beasts vanish in an instant, only to appear hundreds of meters away, it knew: this man was an unfathomable Titled Douluo.

Realizing the truth, the grilled meat suddenly didn't smell quite so delicious anymore.

Escape—it had to run!

As a ten-thousand-year sub-dragon Spirit Beast, it was quite fast, covering hundreds of meters in under ten seconds.

But the moment its head slammed into the invisible spatial barrier, the world shifted, and it found itself right back inside the domain, facing the two humans again.

What? How did they suddenly appear in front of it?

And the firepit and the roasted meat too—how?

It spun around and tried again.

Flash—once more, it was back where it started, the two humans and meat directly in front.

The Unihorn Flame Tyrannosaurus tried over ten times, only to find itself stuck in the same maddening loop—no matter how it ran, it couldn't escape.

And those evil humans and the cursed meat would always appear in front of it.

Its mind finally snapped.

They had to die!

It could never defeat the man, but maybe it could take down the woman.

Furious, it clawed the ground and charged, aiming to kill.

Closer—closer—it could almost see its horn piercing the woman's body.

But just as it was about to land the strike, the man calmly stepped in front of her and caught its sharp horn with one hand.

In that instant, its entire charge was stopped cold. Zhao Ling casually gripped the beast's horn and hurled it into the ground.

"Boom!"

The Unihorn Flame Tyrannosaurus felt its entire skeleton shift—some bones even cracked outright, and hot blood spurted from its mouth.

Its mind was reeling—this man hadn't even used his Spirit or soul power! Yet he could casually toss it like a ragdoll. Was he a monster?

Before it could recover, he lifted it again and smashed it down.

"Crack!"

Its skull and spine misaligned. It could no longer feel anything below the neck. Its eyelids grew heavy.

It knew it was going to die. This man wasn't just terrifying—he was like a hundred-thousand-year beast in human skin.

In its fading consciousness, it heard Zhao Ling's calm voice:

"Long'er, you finish it off. Make it quick—save it from suffering."

At that moment, the Unihorn Flame Tyrannosaurus bitterly muttered to itself:

So now I'm supposed to thank you? You've already smashed me to bits, and now you want to spare me pain? Are you even human?

Still, it did hope the woman would hurry—anything to avoid being toyed with by that devil again.

Liu Erlong took the Azure Sword from Zhao Ling and stabbed it into the beast's skull.

Ordinarily, its skull would be incredibly tough, but the Azure Sword slid in like a hot knife through butter.

Liu Erlong was stunned by the sword's sharpness. In her opinion, even Sword Douluo's Spirit Sword might not be this sharp.

After delivering the finishing blow, she returned the Azure Sword to Zhao Ling and sat down cross-legged, beginning to absorb the Unihorn Flame Tyrannosaurus's ten-thousand-year Spirit Ring.

Zhao Ling carefully cleaned the sword and returned it to its sheath. Then he silently watched Liu Erlong's absorption process, his expression growing increasingly serious…
